Dear god. Should we start with the fact that when we walked in practically nobody was wearing a mask? Or all of the unbussed tables on the patio where we asked to be sat? Or that it took us asking three times/fifteen minutes to get a high chair? Or the Trump caravan that pulled into the parking lot with their flags as we were getting ready to leave? Actually, the porch was directly across the street from a house that was draped--literally draped--in Trump regalia. And turns out that the reason we were at this horrible restaurant on Sunday was to meet up with friends from Houston and San Antonio to toast Biden's victory, so it felt AMAZING to do that with the house in the background. Thank you! Oh, the food here is gross. Like really gross. One of us split open her spinach enchiladas just to eat the spinach and the other could barely eat his burrito because the meat was so alarming-looking/tasting. Beans and rice were edible. The frozen margarita was comically bad. The red salsa was OK, but the green one was like cilantro water. Service was on par with the kitchen. I mean, we'll always look back fondly on this place because we were with our Texas pals on a special day, but seriously, find somewhere else to eat if eating good food is your kind of thing. read more

Solid Mexican food. Service was good. My husband had carne guisada (which a lot of Mexican places don't have in Dallas) and said the meat was cooked perfectly. My crispy beef tacos were pretty standard but good. I'm leaving 5 stars because people are so quick to ding restaurants on here and at the end the hostess/cashier gave my boys quarters to play a game at the front where they could get a bouncy ball. Food was just ok. The beans were neither refried nor whole, just in between but not a lot of flavor. The rice seemed reheated, had a film or crunch underneath. The flautas were deep fried, so the ends were very crispy with oil still in them. The chicken didn't have much flavor, either, just like boiled pieces of chicken that were too big to bite into. It needed dicing & spices to make it more palatable. We (4) were seated right in front of the w/c accessible restroom, and there was no way a w/c could pass between our table & the entrance. In fact, I doubt the door would even open wide enough to get a w/c in w/o displacing our table. This is a huge place, so there's no need to have a table in front of a bathroom, not only unsafe for disabled people trying to use it, but unsightly for the people having to see it while they're eating. We just ate there while driving from Lubbock to El Campo. The atmosphere is awesome. It is very clean and quiet during lunch hour. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive and the other employees were very helpful despite the restaurant being pretty busy. Our food was quick, hot, and delicious. The salsa is fresh and good! Good Mexican food restaurant in La Grange. The salsa they serve with the chips is really good. They also serve you queso with the chips, which tastes good and is a nice touch. I've had a couple of their items, ranging from the fajitas to enchiladas and even their chicken wings. The wings are good by the way. They have a full bar and a bar area, but no draft beer only bottles. The margaritas are large and popular. My new favorite thing is the spicy fajitas. They are cooked with jalapeños and they are served with a ton of jalapeños and melted cheese on the top of them. Great flavor and the beef was tender. It's a big place too so they can handle the lunch and dinner crowds. They have lunch specials during the week, which cover several of their items and are a good value. read more

Stopped here for a late lunch two days ago. My husband said the Carne Guisada was the best he had ever had. My fajitas were covered with a rich poblano pepper sauce; it was great. Portions were huge. We had two meals out of the Carne Guisada and three large meals out of the fajitas. Tortillas were made on site. All the staff we saw were wearing masks. I came into the meal with low expectations after reviewing the comments; however, I was pleasantly surprised. I've visited Texas five times within the last year and I've been terribly disappointed with the quality of Mexican dishes - go figure - and it's not out of a lack of effort in seeking out a good Mexican meal. I'm from Wisconsin - not exactly a hotbed of Mexican cuisine. This meal was much better than the high 4 star places I've visited. I ordered the Fuentes enchiladas, one beef one chicken. I preferred the beef. The sauce was very good and the meat tender. The beer(s) came in frosted mugs (a BIG PLUS). Service was fantastic. I must have been checked on a half dozen times by multiple staff members. Not that I'll ever be back in La Grange anytime soon, but if I am I'll be back. read more

Great spot for large groups traveling through, call ahead and they can accommodate nearly any size even on Sunday. Food was fast, servers were pleasant, queso was fast and tasty. Food overall was average but just what you wanted to fill your belly and get back on the road. They offer a lunch menu on Sunday until 2pm and a kids menu all the time. The caldo was by far the best dish of our group. Mexican Coke, iced tea and fountain Coke products available for the non alcoholic beverages. Restrooms are small but clean. Parking is plentiful. This place has some of the best Mexican food in La Grange. We always eat here when we are in town. During the week days you get free queso with chips and hot sauce. The hot sauce is a cooked tomato,onion,and japaleno combo. Very tasty. Served kinda warm and has a little kick but not too much if your not into that. They also serve a green tomatillo sauce that's great also. No heat but plenty of flavor. The chips are great. Not to thick. Not to thin. I usual order the cheese enchiladas. It comes with rice and beans. Great red sauce over the enchiladas, and they ooze with cheese. So tasty. I've also gotten the fajitas and tacos. It's all good. I met a friend at Las Fuentes in La Grange, which is about halfway between our homes in Austin and Houston. This was my first time at Las Fuentes, and my first time in downtown La Grange. I'm already trying to come up with excuses to head into downtown next time I'm passing by on 71 just so I can eat here. First of all, you get chips, red salsa (warm and chunky), green salsa (cold and tasty), and...(enter drumroll here)...QUESO. Yes, you get queso with your chips and salsa and it's free. Any place that gives me free cheese is ok by me. Secondly, they have a very large menu with tons of options, and a really good lunch menu which is available 11am-4pm every day of the week. I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas off the lunch menu and had three enchiladas, rice, and beans on my plate. A full meal for the low low price of $6.95. Of course, I had to get a to go box for most of my food, as I ate all of the queso and was full. I would recommend going here for the lunch menu, as their dinner prices are around $9-$13 each. Also, I definitely recommend drinking out of the straw that comes in your cup...I saw someone knock over a stack of cups on the floor, and an employee picked them up and put them back on the cup shelf. read more

The food was excellent and the laugh the group of 10 of us got when one of us ordered a draft beer and got a can of root beer was hilarious! The wait staff doesnt speak much english, so keep your orders short and simple. The second time we went (wed) i ordered the same dish (fajitas max with chicken) and it was no where near the same quality as the first visit. The food was average the second visit, but it gave myself and another guy sever stomach cramps for 24 hours. Our food was bland - it did not have any character. The ambiance is nice - colorful, atmospheric music, but the food we had was very plain. We also had to wait a while for drinks, water was forgotten and one drink was entirely wrong. When we were able to finally order, our food came pretty quickly, but I was kinda filled up on tortilla chips and (bland) salsa. If you want to drink, go here, but not if you're looking for quality Mexican food. I took my boyfriend out to eat here for his birthday dinner, and he despised me for it. He ordered three crunchy beef tacos. How can you mess that up, right? He was off-put from the get-go because it smelled like peanuts. (Assuming they fried the taco shell in peanut oil), and the shells themselves were soggy and they had piled the ingredients all on the outside of the shell, which didn't make much sense at all...
