I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled after my recent visit to La Cacerola given I have also recommended this restaurant to family and friends in the past. My main complaint is about the way they handled the bill and it completely ruined my experience and will prevent me from visiting this restaurant in the future. In the beginning, our waitress (the owner), took our drink order. We asked for water with a side of lemons. She proceeded to bring tap iced water with lemon slices in it (like you typically receive when just asking for water at restaurants). At the end of the meal we asked for a small to-go box. When it was time to pay the bill, another waitress came to our table and showed my dad the credit card machine with just the total. I told my dad to ask for a receipt as I was planning on transferring him for part of the bill. As we were arriving home I was reviewing the bill to make the transfer, and realized that they had charged us for 4 waters and the to-go box. I proceeded to write them via Facebook Messenger expecting, at the very least, an apology and haven't received a response. We visited the restaurant on Sunday and today is Thursday. My issue is not the amount of what we were charged, IF they were to of told us that there was a charge for it (which is ridiculous because I have never been to a restaurant that charges me for tap water and a to-go box), but if you want to do it, that's fine, but communicate that to your customers and don't try to hide that in the bill. No one said these items would cost extra, and nothing was listed on the menu or explained by the staff when we asked for these items. There are plenty of honest restaurants out there that value customer trust--unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Won't be coming back. Al final de la comida, pedimos una cajita pequeña para llevar. Cuando llegó el momento de pagar la cuenta, otra mesera vino a nuestra mesa y le mostró a mi papá la máquina para pagar con tarjeta con solo el total. Le dije a mi papá que pidiera un recibo, ya que planeaba transferirle parte del monto de la cuenta. Al llegar a casa y revisar la cuenta para hacer la transferencia, me di cuenta de que nos habían cobrado por 4 aguas y por la cajita para llevar. Procedí a escribirles por Facebook Messenger esperando, al menos, una disculpa, y no he recibido respuesta (aunque ya vieron mi mensaje y publican diariamente). Visitamos el restaurante el domingo y hoy es jueves. Mi problema no es el monto que nos cobraron, SI nos hubieran dicho que había un cargo por eso (lo cual es ridículo porque nunca he estado en un restaurante que cobre por agua de la llave y una caja para llevar), pero si quieren hacerlo, está bien, solo comuníquenlo a sus clientes y no intenten esconderlo en la cuenta. Nadie nos dijo que esos artículos tendrían un costo adicional, y no había nada indicado en el menú ni lo mencionó el personal cuando los pedimos. Hay muchos restaurantes honestos que valoran la confianza de sus clientes; lamentablemente, este no es uno de ellos. No volveré. There aren't many options in the metroplex for authentic Colombian cuisine, so I often have to commit to a long drive if I'm in the mood for it. I had seen that this La Cacerola had recently opened close to home and decided to stop by and give it a try. Let me start off with my opinion that La Cacerola is terribly overpriced. I understand there are several factors pushing food prices up at the moment but the quality of the food in this restaurant does NOT justify the price. You can directly compare the food prices from La Cacerola with other Colombian restaurants in town that have better dishes and come to the same conclusion that you are not getting the best bang for the buck here. One major detail that brings me back to Colombian restaurants is that they usually have an assortment of delicious, fresh baked breads. This restaurant does not bake their breads in-house and this always results in a noticeable difference in quality. Another MAJOR thing that was lacking was the traditional Latin hospitality that you'll often see at other family-owned restaurants; in other words, the service was disappointingly poor. The owner needs to realize that if you are already struggling to meet the basics of running a restaurant; greeting, seating, and taking orders then your restaurant is unlikely to do well. read more

Great experience from the food to the service to the atmosphere. We started with the empanadas and maduros con queso. The empanadas were fried a little different from what we are used to but delicious none the less. Most everyone at the table had Jugos en agua and they were ok , could have been a little sweeter . Now to the food . We had the picada ( one of the best I've had to date ) , Bandeja paisa *Chefs kiss , and the Sobrebarriga en guisada ( sooooo tender and delicious ). The biggest standouts were definitely the quality of the meats ... a huge plus. We finished with the bocadillo con queso and it was the perfect finish. Only complaint was having to pay extra for Aji ( especially when you order 8 empanadas ) It is pricey compared to other Colombian restaurants but I would definitely recommend and we will be back to support ! read more

I have to think that Bandeja Paisa is Colombian cuisine's most popular dish although it is a lot of food.
