We came at such a good time at noon on a Saturday before it got busy. The dim lighting with all the tables occupied gave me the vibe that this is the spot for crawfish. The seasoning and sauce for the crawfish was perfectly flavored. The oysters were fresh and the crab fingers were delicious. Our waitress was so nice and welcoming.

It's been years since I've been to Nate's. Went with some co workers. It was about 10 people. When I first got there it was pretty packed but the good thing is there is valet. Our reservation was at 6. We were seated right on time at a big table in the back. I will say for all of us we only had one waitress but she did really good with our orders. We had several appetizers like onion rings and hush puppies to start with. For my meal I had several options that I was torn between so I asked the waitress opinion. Out of my choices she suggested the creole seafood pasta but with the sauce from another pasta. It was a great recommendation. It was so good I cleaned my plate.

This place is very busy so be prepared to wait a bit. The parking lot itself fills up so get there early if you'd like to avoid having to valet. After we were seated, we got the gator nuggets. They were good, not very fishy and had a good texture. We didn't get any silverware or little plates and it was busy so we ended up eating it with our hands. We also ordered drinks which took a long time to get to us. I ordered a cup of seafood and the crabmeat and shrimp etouffe. I expected the cup of gumbo to be an appetizer but it got there after my entree, which kind of threw off the meal a bit. I liked the taste of the etouffe and the amount was a generous portion. One thing I didn't like was that it had crab shells in it so I kept having to pick them out as I ate. My husband got the chicken po boy and he said he thought the gator had been seasoned more than the po boy. I finished my meal with the gumbo and I didn't much like the taste. It wasn't very flavorful. Overall, this place was a mixed bag. It's obviously very popular and I tasted some things that were very good but others that missed the mark.

Really enjoyed our late dinner on the patio. A cold front was blowing in, but the heat lamps helped. Food was really good, as always.

This restaurant delivers consistent great tasting food. We have stopped in numerous times. We stopped in as a party of 2 yesterday (Valentines) and wait was quoted about an hour and got seated in about 45min. Our server was attentive and nice. Ordered crawfish and shrimp and grilled oysters. Everything was great, shrimp was a little overcooked but overall enjoyable. . The bread and hush puppies they bring out is delicious. Also, they went around and handed the women dining a single carnation. Very cute! We will be back.

Address: 14951 Midway Rd., Addison, TX 75001 Date Visited: January 17, 2026 I'm in town on a business trip to the Dallas area from Southern California and decided to try Nate's Seafood. Overall, I'm giving it 3 stars -- good experience, fair prices, but the food was hit-or-miss. What we ordered (with prices) * Half & Half Platter ( 1/2 fried shrimp & 1/2 fried oysters) -- $26.94 * Seafood Gumbo (cup) -- $7.95 * Stuffed Flounder Atchafalaya -- $36.95 * Hamburger Po'Boy -- $14.95 * Michelob Ultra Draft (2) -- $11.90 (about $5.45 each) * Abita Root Beer -- $4.95 * House Cabernet (glass) -- $8.00 Food review I had the Half & Half Platter (fried shrimp and fried oysters). * The shrimp were good -- crispy and enjoyable. * The oysters were just okay, nothing special. * It came with a side of jambalaya, but unfortunately it was pretty bland. I also ordered a cup of gumbo, and that was another letdown -- very bland and lacking the flavor I was hoping for. My colleagues had mixed feedback too: * One ordered the Stuffed Flounder Atchafalaya and said it was okay. * The other got the Hamburger Po'Boy and said it was excellent -- very spicy and really good, probably the standout item at our table. Ambiance & service The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and it was very busy, which is usually a good sign. Service was good and everything came out in a reasonable time. Also worth mentioning: the Michelob Ultra draft was served in a chilled glass and was ice cold, which I appreciated -- and the prices felt very fair overall. Final thoughts I'm glad I tried it, and I might return, especially since the prices are reasonable and the vibe is lively. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come back -- I'd probably only return if I was nearby again.

Nate's never disappoints! We have been coming here for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better. When you order crawfish, I suggest you get the JP juice, grilled sausage and corn and potatoes. Yummy, enjoy.

Went here for the first time and the overall experience was not good. I ordered over the phone with what sounded like an old lady. She was rude and unfriendly. Being a first time I was asking her different questions and one of them if they mix any alcohol in the batter of a catfish like some other seafood restaurants does. She answered as if I asked a dumbest question in the world! Catfish was just okay and nothing special. Had a very strong "fishy" taste. Fries were just okay as well. Upon checking my receipt afterwards, I saw $1 was added under "Take Out." I don't think this "extra" charge was mentioned anywhere on their menu and/or in the store. They should clearly mentioned any extra charge instead of just adding and then charging it without customer's approval. Not sure if I will try this restaurant again or not.

So I stopped into Nate's seafood today to try their crawfish. Being from Louisiana they hit a lot of big marks for me! Loved that they do it the traditional way! They were dry seasoned not long soaked. Not the worst thing in the world but definitely really salty! Definitely loved that you can add mushrooms!! Not a lot of places have that option! The thing that got me the most was the price for quality. They were on the menu as "market price" however they were definitely the highest priced that I have paid out of the 4 places I have gone to in DFW just this season. (11.99/lb.) Unfortunately for the price their were a lot of teeny tiny ones, lost of medium compared to other places being priced at 7.99 for way bigger crawfish. I rather take the extra $3 a pound I paid and put it in the gas tank for a trip to bourbon street b&g in Euless! Service was superb though. Ambience is exactly what you're looking for when you're eating good crawfish. Would absolutely return for a quick fix in a pinch!!

We have been loyal customers to Nate's for many years and why? The ambiance, customer service and delicious food is always consistent! It's so worth the hour drive! Our waitress today, Lauren, was great! Wish we lived closer!

LOVE IT here! I'm a sucker for a quaint dive bar, and this place certainly delivered. The bar and the servers have a lot of personality. The menu is massive!!! so much that it was difficult to pick but I have no regrets about my selections. I tried crab fingers for the first time and they were not what I expected, but everything I wanted! The oysters were amazing too. And I typically don't like alligator bites, but the broiled versions were perfect!!! I will definitely stop when I return to town.

Why is there construction outside the building?

No off midway road is clear now I believe

When is alligator available on the menu? Is there a specific season for it?

With Nate's I'm not sure, however with most places that see it, it's available year round. Really up to who they are getting the gator from..

    Are crawfish in season?

    Yes they sure are!!!

Are NFL games shown on Sundays?

Yes they are. But call 972-701-9622, if you are looking for something specific. That way we can verify what you are looking to watch!!!

    Do you take reservations?

They do! They also take them on the reservation app 'Open Table'

What do they have for dessert?

    Bread pudding for sure!

    Is there outdoor seating?

    Yes there is.

Does Nate's soak their crawfish, or do they cook them like all the other places (Vietnamese style, steamed/boiled, no soak, covered in some sauce, so the crawfish tastes like nothing?)

No we soak them. We season them. We do not butter them with the standard fake version of butter flavor that places have begun using. We serve them in a tray and not in a bag!!!! Thank you for inquiring.

What truly makes Lefty's special is the entire experience. The staff is welcoming and professional, and the clientele adds to the warm, classic atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year. The first five of us ordered drinks while we waited, and the remaining couples joined shortly after and did the same. Our waiter was fantastic. He was witty with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that fit our group perfectly. He made the evening feel relaxed and fun, and we genuinely appreciated his attentiveness throughout the meal. We started with two orders of the crab fingers, the Maryland crab cake, and calamari. The crab fingers were the clear standout appetizer, as it was a unique dish that everyone loved. The broth was so flavorful that several of us soaked it up with bread and couldn't get enough. The crab cake was just okay, slightly fishier than expected. For entrées, there were some real highlights. The halibut special and the sea bass special were both exceptional. The Lefty's pasta is enormous and packed with flavor, another favorite amongst us. The chicken parmesan was solid for those not in the mood for seafood, though I'll admit I expected a bit more boldness in the sauce and a little more sauce overall would have helped elevate the dish. We didn't take many photos because we were focused on enjoying the company and celebrating the occasion. Everything felt celebratory and enjoyable until the very end. After we had paid our checks, a few of us were finishing the last of our wine and drinks. Within moments of closing out, the owner approached our table and abruptly told us he had a party of ten waiting and that we needed to hurry up. Had he given us five more minutes, we would have naturally wrapped up and left on our own, completely happy with the experience. He could have approached us with kindness and this result would have been so different. Instead, that interaction left us feeling rushed and unwelcome. We spent a significant amount of money and were not lingering excessively, so it was disappointing to have the evening end that way. With a little more grace at the finish, this would have been a five-star evening.

Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.
