Truly love trying new places when it comes to Bionicos and frutas and all of that jazz. The thing about this place is the fact that it has ESQUITES! Corn in a cup' yum yum! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy and it's pretty fast paced. Ladies are not too nice and friendly and can seem kind of stuck up while taking your order. Hence the three stars. Anyways, bionicos are pretty okay. They seem to be a bit flavorless but the raspados are pretty darn good. Esquites are also a plus! Super yummy. my friend bought two raspados from here first time there. He got lime and I got strawberry. One taste and it was was too sweet!! They put some milk crap inside the strawberry one. I didn't like. There are a lot of Mexican fruit and raspado shops in LA and I've tried quite a few my 10 years living here but I must say that Las Palmitas Fruit is the best when it comes to Raspados, they make the best tasting ones in my opinion. This place has been around for quite some time, the first time I visited was back in 2011 when I was only visiting LA as my food friend raved about their Mangoneadas and would drive all the way from South LA to get them here because according to her they were the best ones and she was right, Las Palmitas has always done a solid Mangoneada. But I would have to say my absolute favorite thing here is their Raspados which you can combine flavors on! I always get the Coco-Nuez raspado which is their coconut and walnut flavored raspado. It's amazing! So rich! And I love that they use real fresh coconut as opposed to other places that I've tried where they use the dry shredded coconut. They also throw in huge fresh coconut chunks at the top for your enjoyment and pieces of walnuts at the bottom yum! I've also had their Tamarind raspado and their Lemon raspado and both have been great, immediately transported me back to the paleterias in Mexico. Very authentic flavors. Also a plus- they have a decent size parking lot in the back which is great for being in such a busy area of Downey. Went to pick up flowers at the flower shop next door and went here for an afternoon treat. Their smoothies are delicious! I had the pina colada which was so good, just wish it came in a smaller size because it eventually gave me a sugar headache. Husband got a strawberry banana smoothie which was perfect. I can't believe the people that work here! They are Rude and do not belong in customer service. They are not very nice, if you ask for an extra fork or even extra napkins and god forbid you have to repeat the order to them. I like the fruits, raspados and food but the behavior of the staff is not cool at all and not very welcoming. I hope they hire staff who are friendly soon. Apparently there's 3 different closing times: what the paper posted inside of the store says (9:00pm), what google says (9:45pm), and what the employees say when you walk in (9:00pm). And this has happened twice now that 15-20 min before closing we are refused service because they're "closed at 9:00". Pretty disappointed in the inconsistency. If you love mexican treats and snacks, this place is definitely for you!! raspados, mexican ice cream, tostilocos, esquites, tortas, you name it!! the line can get pretty long BUT it does move faurly fast!! their biónicos are so good!! the crema they use is a perfect consistency and it is not too sweet! the fruit they use for it is also fresh their esquites (corn in a cup) are the best ones i've had! every time i buy one i always compare them to the ones from this place because they have the best esquites! cooked and asado are the two options they have if you get a raspado you can also add lechera on top for free there are so many things to try so i'll definitely be coming back for more! read more

The menu has a lot to choose from which made my decision making difficult. Everything looked so tasty!! I ended up ordering the "Diablito" and tunas which are my favorite. The Diablito was OK, not what I expected. I was a little disappointed with the taste and the fact that they use ice instead of real fruit and ice for the base. It was more like a slushie. The best part of the drink was the chunks of mango on top. The Tunas were fresh and DELICIOUS, I will definitely go back for those. I've given this place multiple chances and have been dissapointed every time. The elotes are consistently under cooked. The ones you buy off a cart are better. And they use Tajin on the elote. WTH is that? It just adds a weird sour taste to it. And they use fake lime juice on the fruita and limonade. This one drives me crazy! Even the carts on street corners use real limes. Do yourself a favor, just find yourself a street vendor instead of going to this place. And the service is not great. The cashiers always seem in a bad mood. read more

I have attached a picture of there chicken torta, avocado was brown and bad. I can't believe they would allow there cook to use a bad avocado. In the past they only used nice green avocados.
