This is the best tapas restaurant I've ever been to. The owners are friendly and generous, so it is not difficult to see why so many people love this place. I'm usually not too adventurous with my food choices, but everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite thing we ate was the Bomba de la Barceloneta. All the tapas we tried were great. The gambas in chili and garlic were the nicest dish we had with the Manchego cheese and honey coming a close second. I'll definitely return. Found my self at this tapas place with a couple of friends on a Monday night and we had nothing but raving reviews ! We had to wait a bit since we had a group of 6 but the staff was nothing short of attentive the entire night. We started off with samples of wine and oysters which was already a great way to start a meal. With the help of our fabulous waiter we ordered a bunch of tapas and had an amazing time. Lastly when it came to the bill we noticed a discrepancy between the pricing on their menu and what we were charged and the manager was so kind in having it fixed for us -it was so great to have that type of hospitality and kindness. Went here on a date recently because I'd heard great things from a friend. I certainly was not disappointed. We had tried (albeit late) to get a booking but they were full (Which I found very unsurprising once I had been there myself) Instead, we were told that the outdoor terrace is seated on a first come, first served basis. So we arrived around half seven, were told that it would be half an hour wait but that the host would call us when the table was ready, so we headed over to The Jar just across the road for a drink. We ended up ordering six plates between us and a bottle of white. The wine list was good but the waitress was even better, she was really helpful in giving her opinion on which to go for and why. Of the food (And I'm not a massive seafood lover) everything was really enjoyable. My favourites would've been the mussels and the prawns were gorgeous too. Every member of staff we interacted with was a delight and more than that, they each seemed genuinely, overtly happy to be there! It lends a really good buzz to the place and the atmosphere over all was perfect. I'd highly recommend a visit, with an excellent location for pre-drinks dinner, lovely staff and excellent food. The bill came to about 75 euro, with the wine, so the prices were very reasonable too! I will definitely be back shortly. read more

I just spent some days in Madrid and as I am not ready to let go of the Spanish feeling, food , vino and atmosphere yet I really welcomed our dinner catch up at tapas de Lola. I heard amazing things about the place and was curious how it's gonna go. Defo amazing and caring staff regarding allergies! They really took time and explained dishes and risk to me and I didn't felt looked down as in most places when mentions the big A for allergies ! I had he mushroom dish and the chickpea spinach dish both really good only thing a wee bit too much olive oil for my taste ! My friends ordered a mix of patatas Braves , gambas, Spanish meatballs Chorizo dish and the black pudding taps! Additional we ordered a bottle of red and had a lovely late dinner there! All in all a really good experience based on service and food, we defo planning on coming back and spending some more time sampling through the food and wine list . read more

It is not easy to find exactly the Spanish food that you have in your memory when you are abroad, maybe is the same for an Irish visiting an Irish pub in other country. Anyway the proposal is nice and well done. They have a good adaptation of the typical Spanish food to the local taste. I liked how they serve the dishes, elegantly decorated with good combinations of colors and tastes. Maybe a bit small for me, but with all delicious. I've passed Las Tapas De Lola literally like 100 times and said each time that that id love to drop in, so when I did FINALLY get to drop in it didn't disappoint. First thing I want the mention are the staff who are amazing, all genially super nice, professional and fun to talk to. They were warm on welcome and really knew the menu. The place it dim lit with a low celling which give the place a whole privet and intimate atmosphere. After we were seated we were brought complimentary drinks, which was a red wine and lemon juice mix which was fab then menus were brought. The menu was good loads on it I wanted to try but I went with the beef cheeks and baby squid. Please if you go try the beef cheeks! They are not to be missed! Also between the dishes the brought out these tiny dried and salted whole fish, head still attached so I was a bit so so about trying them but again really nice, so be brave. For the dessert I just ordered the coffee which came with a complimentary chocolate truffle which was tasty as well. We went on valentines night it was super busy but we were still looked after and weren't waiting on food very long. Was really happy leaving and enjoyed the whole evening read more

Very disappointed with the overall experience of this place. The host (possibly co-owner), lacks any kind of manners or social skills with customers. It could have been her, or the fact that I found a hair in my potatoes bravas, or also the fact that they ran out of chicken? But I know it is not somewhere I will be running back to. You know when a place is so good you have to fight for a place? Must be the case. We had to wait over half an hour for a table so they would call us. Also, we tried to book in advance yesterday but they told us they don't book regular tables (just the tall tables) yet we got there and there were tables booked. However, it's worth it going through all these mishaps and actually eating there. The food is sublime. Great part of the Tapas are spicy yet not so much that you can't enjoy the flavor. I love spicy food and Tapas de Lola has the perfect balance between exotic and traditional flavors (The patatas bravas for example, have a really spicy sauce but it blends perfectly with the subtle seasoning of the potatoes and in the end, the dish itself doesn't taste awfully spicy, just a hint of pepper). My favorite Tapa was the garlic prawn, but the patatas bravas and the solomillo de cerdo a la pimienta are absolutely fantastic. The chorizo is the best I've ever had. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, it's lovely decorated and the waiters are the sweetest. Also, the Tapas are quickly served so you don't have to wait long to get your food. The food disappointed me and that's the most important thing for me (and most people I assume) when heading out for dinner. I'd definitely give it another chance but in a market that's fairly saturated I would be more inclined to go to La Bodega, The Port House or Salamanca. read more

Yes! I love tapas and I definitely loved the ones here. As we were a group of 12 we had to go for their group menu (either meat / fish or vegetarian) and couldn't choose individually. But these menus have a huge variety and I got to taste and enjoy tapas that I probably wouldn't have chosen otherwise. They have three different group menus each - for €25, €30 and €35. We went for the €25 variation and there was not one that I didn't like albeit I am aware that it can be tricky for some to not be able to choose individually. But there was plenty of each tapas so even if you didn't eat the one or the other you would still be satisfied and definitely not hungry afterwards. The staff was enjoying their work and most likely would be their best customers if they didn't have to work. I had a glass of Navarro with my meal which was recommended to me by the waitress and she was right. It complimented the food. My favourite tapas was probably the calamari (thin and very nicely spiced) and the paella of the day - in our case black paella tinted with octopus ink. Overall I found the relation of price to value extremely good - something you hardly find in Dublin. So I'll definitely will be back - hoping for a free table as even on a Wednesday evening there was no spare table. read more

This place is a real find. Tucked away at the top of Aungier St., bottom of Wexford St., it's about 3 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green. We'd booked a table for 6.45 and it was very quiet when we arrived. It filled up pretty smartly and remained full while we were there. Booking is definitely essential. Service was extremely friendly and efficient with sound advice being given on food and wine choices. 'Don't get the expensive house white, the second one is better'. Not often you get that. And it was excellent - a Molino Loco it says here. A glass of, I think, Sangria was served when we sat down which was a nice touch. They don't do cocktails but I had a Rebujito which, apparently, is a mojito made with white wine. Odd but nothing ventured etc. For three people we opted for two tapas each with patatas bravas to share. Naturally, we all had a bit of everything. In the event, it was more than enough and we could have dropped at least one of the dishes without anyone feeling hungry. The special paella was a black rice confection which looked terrible but tasted divine. I also chose the chorizo with Spanish black pudding, also excellent although the chorizo was a little on the salty side. Meatballs, prawns and calamari were also very good. Bread on the side was superb. My only slight peeve - and it's not even fair to raise it given it's a, duh, tapas restaurant - is that everything comes together so there is tendency to stuff everything in while it's still hot. I'll grant you that this is a bit like complaining that McDonald's serve hamburgers. If you prefer your meals delivered in definite courses, with space between them, then tapas may not be for you. Dessert for my two female companions was churros with chocolate which is undoubtedly very very bad for you. We were in and out in less than an hour. Great spot. We will be back. read more

We enjoyed eating at Las Tapas de Lola. We showed up on the spur of a moment decision, without a reservation. We had a 45 minute wait, went down the block for a pint, and was seated immediately when we returned. The food was excellent. We tried the octopus, patata bravas with blood pudding, prawns, pan with grated tomato and olive oil and the eggplant. The only dish we have a complaint about was the prawns. They were so overcooked that we sent them back for another try. They came out again completely over cooked. We shut up and ate them. The flavors are excellent, it's just sad the prawns were so chewy it ruined it texture. But the rest of the food was excellent and the wine choices fantastic. We completely enjoyed ourselves and would eat here again. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. Have only been once, but my experience was neither brilliant nor awful, only okay. It was early on a Tuesday evening, and we had booked well in advance, being told by the hostess that she would need the table back by half six. We obliged of course, however for the duration of our meal, we were one of two couples in the place?! Yet when the other party entered, I overheard the hostess say the same thing to them about needing the table back, but the place was empty? Confused. It was like she wanted us to feel as though she was doing us a favour, or that we were almost undervalued? I don't know what the idea was behind that. The food, however was 4 stars. Not mind blowing, but still tasty, and very affordable. It was so long ago that I don't remember exactly what we ate; patatas bravas definitely, and a tortilla.. Some chorizo thing? Was very garlicky! Don't come on a first date! Overall, a decent experience. There was little atmosphere in the place as it was so deathly quiet.. However that is to be expected I suppose!
