First time visiting here! Very nice welcoming inside. They have large outside patios for the nicer weather. Right on the water, so great views. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Menu has everything from appetizers, soups, salads, pizza, and dinners. The calamari was very good. The chopped salad was delicious. All of the pasta meals, and lasagna were very tasty. Fra diavlo was spicy and full of seafood. All the portions were big. The zeppoli dessert was yummy. Awesome service.

What wonderful place. It was recommended to me by the hotel staff where I'm staying for a few days nearby due to a business trip. I couldn't make up my mind because everything looked appetizing. Thank you to my server Kiz who made my experience a nice visit

We were in Philly for the weekend, and ended up across the border in New Jersey hoping to find some Italian food, and this is definitely the spot to go to. We ordered the meatballs, arancini, eggplant Parmesan, and the veal Parmesan. The portions were huge, but also the food comes out as it is ready, not all at once. I really liked this concept as we got the food at its freshest. The restaurant has a nice view of the water, and creates a nice casual atmosphere while enjoying your meal. This is definitely a spot to try if in the area.

beautiful place and great staff. The pizza was fine- we got the truffle and short rib pizzas. They're both white pizzas and they tasted fine. we asked for a side of mariana sauce to dip in and it was good. It was a nice place to sit next to after a walk at copper park. I love cooper park so it's good there's decent food nearby!

Cute and clean restaurant right on the river! Have a pretty good happy hour which is what we came in for. I had the Birra Margarita and I believe it was blood orange - so delicious!! My coworker and I got the caprese and cheese pizza off of the happy hour menu. Pizza was just ok, but loved the pesto and balsamic glaze combo on the caprese! The pizza had about 6 pieces and the caprese had 4 portions which was plenty for two. My two favorite items were the Cheesesteak Eggrolls (came with 4) and the Brussel Sprouts. Both had great flavors and were filling. I loved the cheese sauce with the eggrolls - not gritty and stayed melted. Lastly we rounded it out with dessert which I wasn't impressed with. My coworker got the tiramisu and loved it. I got the Banana Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding and it just felt like I was eating a hunk of bread with no flavor. Couldn't taste the banana and the chocolate chips were not noticeable. I was bummed because it sounded so good. Service was a bit slow but he was friendly and provided recommendations. I'd come back!

Love visiting LaScala's when I'm in the tri-state area. Service is always so friendly and welcoming and the food is good. Good food, delicious drinks and even better company! I mean what more can a girl ask for lol. This visit was for happy hour so we enjoyed truffle fries, crispy zucchini, and the birra wings. Next time my friend wants to meet for drinks in Jersey I'm going to be sure to let him know the only place I want to go is LaScala's.

The ambience and view is amazing. Located at Cooper River Park. The service was wonderful. And the food was delicious...and Big portions. We ordered the Crispy Birra Calamari, Chicken Italiano Panini, and for dessert we had the Brownie with Vanilla Ice cream & whip cream. Everything was delicious.

It is extremely rare that I give a rating like this. We ordered 3 pizzas and 2 desserts. I was very surprised that the margarita was extremely bland. I don't think I've ever wanted to add salt to a pizza, but I did in this case, plus the mozzarella did not taste fresh. The Buffalo Chicken and Pear and Gruyere pizzas were fairly good. My husband got the tiramisu and said it was good and a very large portion. My kids and I split the Zeppoli and these were, to use a very strong word, awful. Three of us tried it, and all came to the same conclusion. The dough was undercooked and heavy, the filling was kind of confusing to us. It definitely tasted a bit like cannoli but somehow had almost no taste, and the sauce that it came with was sour and unpleasant. It was just a really poor showing for $70 worth of food.

I patronized LaScala's Birra a few weeks ago and had a wonderful dining experience! I would recommend friends, family, and strangers to enjoy a meal here (but don't all sit together). The atmosphere, when I dined, was quiet and relaxing. Check online for specials and happy hour - when I went, there were some patrons sitting at the bar and some seated at the non-bar dining area. No matter where you sit, you can enjoy a nice view of the river. My server (sorry, the name escapes me) was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. He took the time to explain to me how the kitchen operates. Happiness is all about managing expectations! My appetizer was arancini. Wow, it was so creamy and delicious! My mouth is watering, even now, thinking about how tasty it was. The arancini was plated beautifully. My entree was chicken francaise over linguini. Honestly, I have had better chicken francaise... I feel it was a tad undercooked and needed more fresh lemon in the sauce. Please understand this was not a deal-breaker for me: I will visit the restaurant again as this was my first time there. The menu has so much variety I am looking forward to trying something else. There are many pizza, seafood, and salad options. Of note: I ordered a to-go eggplant parmigiano for a friend - she was very pleased with this meal. The portion was ample and she said it was delicious. When she opened it, it looked very appetizing to me! Overall, I left full and happy, with a desire to return and see what else LaScala's Birra has to offer me.

Even made my own a few times, thinking I had it all figured out. But then I walked into The Bank Bar and had my mind completely rearranged. The place itself? Perfect. It's got that old-school, no-nonsense vibe with just enough charm to let you know they actually care. You walk in, and it's like the place has been waiting for you--dark wood, a little history on the walls, and that unmistakable smell of something incredible happening in the kitchen. The kind of place where you know, deep down in your soul, that good things are about to happen. And then came the sandwich. This roast pork wasn't just good. It wasn't just great. It was the best roast pork sandwich I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. First bite--boom--instant revelation. The pork was juicy, packed with deep, rich flavor, and shredded just right, like it had been slow-cooked by someone who truly understands patience. The roll? Oh man, that perfect balance of crusty and soft, holding everything together without stealing the show. Then you get hit with the garlicky, herb-loaded bite of the greens--sautéed just enough to still have a little bite, but soft enough to melt into everything else. And the cheese? Sharp provolone, the kind that makes your taste buds wake up and pay attention. I sat there, sandwich in hand, just nodding to myself like some kind of roast pork prophet. Every bite was a reminder that this is how it's supposed to be done. It wasn't a meal. It was a life experience. If you haven't been to The Bank Bar yet, fix that immediately. Order the roast pork. When my burger arrived without the cheese I ordered and my husband's meal came without its side, Gabby immediately apologized and tried to make things right. To be clear, these were kitchen mistakes, not server mistakes. We weren't angry, weren't complaining, and weren't asking for anything for free. What bothered me was watching Gabby take ownership of problems she didn't create, only to have her efforts seemingly dismissed by management. It was obvious she was trying to improve our experience, but when the manager came to our table, his attitude was dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Rather than supporting an employee who was doing everything right, it felt like he was shutting down her attempts to make things right for the customer. The missing items were minor. Mistakes happen. The food itself was fairly lackluster, but the manager's response left the worst impression. Gabby showed professionalism, accountability, and excellent customer service. Blue Monkey Tavern is lucky to have employees like her. Unfortunately, management did not seem to value those qualities nearly as much as they should.
