After doing so much research and having a pretty traumatizing laser treatment experience, I'm grateful to have found this gem. Found via Instagram and loved the reviews and page. Reached out via dm & the responses were super fast, you have to go through vagaro and book your appointments which isn't pretty bad. I actually called in instead and spoke with the lovely manager Cassidy, she was very professional and super helpful with all 99 of my questions lol. She even booked my complimentary session for the same week & I made it my business on self love to go take care of me. Traveling & Greeting: Coming from Canarsie it was about a 45 min drive not too bad. I arrived to my appointment about 15 min early & was still greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Cassidy told me to take a seat and Miranda greeted me about 5 min earlier. Hospitality: The customer service was phenomenal I was so happy with how I was treated. Miranda made me feel super comfortable from the beginning to the end. She explained the equipment & the process and it was the best laser experience I've had so far. Laser Experience: It had some pain which is normal like pinches the process is still burning the hairs away, ( not a walk in the park lol ) but as Miranda used the laser machine she rubbed the area, like with a motherly rub. This was comforting because Im not the best at taking any type of pain lol. I was told by Miranda that her and Cassidy are best friends I thought this was cool, they worked great together, was told even Cassidy goes in to hold a hand for comfort. These ladies understand the pain of Beauty. I was even able to speak during the process my last laser process at another place I was in real tears at the end and ended up with burns. Going through that and coming to Laser express truly made me appreciate the experience more. Compassion goes far. At the end of the treatment, I was impressed end signed up for the PCOS Membership which is pretty good 10$ a month, this was a blessing. Bought a Groupon for this laser center (4) only for them to tell me at my 4th visit that I cannot use a Groupon more than three times although I've been coming here for months and this was NEVER communicated to me. The owner called with some nonsense story about the receptionist should have told me this....which she never did. I honestly like the place but will not spend a dime here because I hate being treated unfairly. Apologize and say we dropped the ball on communicating this to you, but don't have me feeling like I'm crazy and didn't follow your policy! Update Update: It has been weeks now, and the lashes lasted a very long time. They still look great! They only started slowly falling off about 2.5 weeks after I had them put on. I'm very happy with Karline and their customer service. Update: I went back for a fill in with Karline, and wow. What a difference. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and now my lashes look awesome. I don't feel like I have to wear makeup to balance the look, which is what I was hoping for. She has a relaxing presence, and I was able to fall asleep during the treatment. It looks like she didn't miss a single lash, and though it's only been a matter of hours, nothing has fallen off yet. I usually don't post reviews like this, and part of me wants to just let this go, but after deliberating, I feel it's best to share my experience. I was one of the first lash appointments of the day, and when I arrived everyone was generally welcoming, but the woman who was to do my lashes, Candi, didn't have a mask on. This alarmed me but I figured she just forgot she didn't have it on, so I tried to not cringe everytime she walked into my space and spoke to me, and I waited for an opening to ask her to put one on. I understand it's an awkward thing to ask someone, and that we're all kind of forced to deal with these awkward situations with COVID-19, but when she asked me to enter the small treatment room with her, I hesitated and took the moment to ask her to wear a mask. I asked her sort of apologetically to undercut as much offense as possible. She became stand-offish after that, and still beckoned me into the room sort of impatiently, and only after I went in the room did she leave to get a mask. It was weird and felt like she was flexing on me or something, forcing me to comply with her direction before she relented, but I was trying to be optimistic and let it go. Next issue is that I told her I wanted a subtle look with 11mm lashes, because I don't wear make up and my eyes are kind of large and I don't like the way I look with huge lashes. I have gotten 13mm and 12mm in the past and both looks were not what I was going for. When I told her this she started insisting that 11mm were too small for me and they wouldn't look good. We went back and forth a bit but I'm admittedly a pushover and she insisted she would give them a good shape and they'd look natural, and I ended up just saying "fine, I'll trust your judgement". This was a mistake. She ended up ignoring me completely and giving me 12mm and 13mm, with no graduating shape that I can discern. The lashes at the outer corners of my eyes are so long they legit look like little hair chandeliers. I now look like an instagram girl with massive fake lashes (which is fine if that's what you're going for, but that's not me), and I'm stuck this way for the next few weeks. When I sat up and she handed me the mirror, my heart sank. I was already feeling awkward from her attitude so a pretended I liked them, wanting to end this trip asap, but there was no need because she literally had her face in her phone and was halfway out the door before I could finish giving her my fake thanks. The final straw for me is that in the last day since my appointment, lashes have been falling off. I thought she at least did a good job with the application and deserved credit for her skills, and that they looked great if you like huge dramatic lashes, but now that they're falling off I feel like I have to share this cautionary tale. The one bright spot of my visit was the complimentary laser treatment I got. The tech was awesome! She was very nice and knowledgeable about hair growth phases and the laser itself, and the process was so quick and painless. I am not even positive but I believe I might have been to this place back in 2020 or 2021. I certainly haven't been there in over two years. All of a sudden a few days ago I noticed a charge for $10.88. I thought this is weird since I live on Long Island that my card might have been stolen but according to my bank the purchase was done online. I have called and left voicemails with Laser Express Center and no one has gotten back to me. I am now having to file a fraud claim with my bank. I love this place , it's just that the main worker there .. I'm not sure if she properly knows how to use the laser . I realized that she literally lets the laser find the ingrowns rather than targeting the Ingrown spots and/or hair and zapping those spots with the laser . instead she just zaps every part of where you requested hair removal which I don't think is as effective because you aren't getting all of the spots . Also compared to when someone else did my laser there , it was much more effective, unfortunately she left . More than one option for the workers would be cool . read more

I didn't know laser hair removal could be so calming. It was such a great experience visiting the Laser Express Center. I was in and out in under an hour. My technician was very responsive to my questions, knowledgeable on the procedure and made me feel comfortable throughout my experience. I highly recommend this place. I've thought long and hard about doing this review but ultimately my experience is my experience. To begin I called about a groupon offer I saw for a classic lash set and the young lady on the phone was super kind and accommodating, scheduling me for an appointment the next day (on short notice which I loved). [For some context, I typically go to Luxury Lash (in Financial District) for my lashes but the last time it was done the tech that I typically go to was unavailable and I'm pretty sure the lady who did my lashes that time was new. That said, They weren't in the best shape when it came time for a fill/new set. I'm certain that were stuck together at the base and had pulled my real lashes out quite a bit.] Back to future now, when making my appointment at Nanabella I told the receptionist when I called that I wished to remove what was left of my current set and have a new set put on because I was going away. When I arrived at NanaBella, it was a quick wait because the tech who I assumed was doing my lashes wasn't in the spa but I was informed she ran out briefly. When she returned, she wasn't entirely the friendliest but all things considered she was probably just busy running a business. When I had her attention she asked me to come into a small room, said her name was Karline, had me lay down and began removing my lashes. Again, not particularly friendly but ‍... This is the part where I felt a bit slighted; she began removing my old lash set and NEVER once asked me how I wanted my lash set this time around. Also, I have never had a technicians fingers pull my eyelids side to side to remove lashes or apply lashes or have their hands rest heavily on my face. The process was def more rough/abrasive than I had expected and def more rough than I was use to as I usually sleep during lash applications. During the process when I couldn't hold it in anymore, I asked if I could give constructive criticism and told Karline that she was extremely rough and I wasn't use to it. She simply responded by saying no one in 6 years had ever told her this and continued in the same manner. She explained that the last set I had was done terribly and it was difficult to get a few lashes off. I understood but it didn't make the process any less agonizing. Finally when we got done I look at my lashes and although she had done an amazing job at isolating my lashes , it was as if I had paid 80 dollars to look the same. My lashes were extremely short and thin, it was as if I hadn't gotten lashes at all. Again, I was leaving the country to attend a wedding and I wished my tech inquired about this before she choose my lash set for me. Overall I don't want to count Nanabella out entirely because I do wish to support black owned businesses but I don't know that the customer service is REALLY there. At least in MY experience for the service I received. I'm sure they do other wonderful work but again I didn't enjoy my experience and felt there was a bit of communication missing. Just had a fabulous facial by DeDe! She was gentle, attentive, and made me feel like a Queen! I love this spa. I came across this spa from groupon. I wanted to get a local spa where I can make my monthly facials. Now that my skin was getting better I needed someone professional and knowledgeable for my facials. The girl that did my facials I believe her name is keydie, very sweet and very knowledgeable. The entire staff made me feel very welcome and I appreciated that the place is very clean. I highly recommend this spa and I am so happy I came across them. What a wonderful pleasant experience. When I first walked in the decor gave me a beautiful peaceful vibe. The owner, and Dede both greeted me with a big smile, and briefly described the service I asked for. Dede educated me on everything, and gave me a beautiful glowing face! I got here through a groupon. I went for a facial. They have one person available for facials every Wednesday and every other Friday. I had to wait very long for an appointment. i found their text reminders overwhelming as I got about 8 of them and a phone call. It was driving me crazy even though I answered. Now for the service. The Aesthetician was nice and did an ok job. The table equipment was lacking. It was a flat table with a paper thin pillow and no way to actually lift head or legs. They had something for the legs which was minimal. This made the whole process unbearable for me. Finally, they use their own products for facials. I can't imagine a place this small being able to produce their own products. It didn't work for me. My faced burned into the next day. Facials are not their thing I would say. read more

Loved my lashes! This place is really cute/classy. Alisha did my lashes and she was very informative, professional and pleasant. She did an amazing job and my lashes lasted over a month! They thinned out a little, but they still looked decent. I'll definitely be back. My tech karline was very friendly and my appointment was on time as scheduled. I even loved the lashes when it was completed. Now I get home and I noticed a lash on my glasses and assumed it was a random loose lash but no. Every single day lashes fell off with me barely touching my eyes aside from cleaning my lashes routinely. 7 days after my set there were 2 lashes left on one eye !! I know natural lashes shed but not at that rate, even when the lashes came off they were never attached to my natural lash so idk what it was attached to. I was so disappointed, it was my first time there and I've never experienced this at any salon before. Don't think I'll be back. At least it was a Groupon and not full price. read more

I love this place! I went to get my first spray tan and was so nervous about looking orange and streaky. But, I couldn't believe how natural it looked! I had a bronze glow and I received so many compliments =) A huge plus is that it was an all-natural spray tan! No harsh chemicals or smell. I also got a bikini wax there, which I usually hate doing. Went here after buying a groupon for a gel manicure. Had a problem booking on line and when I called they insisted I do it through their website because there supposedly was no way for them to do it. I found this weird to say the least. In the end they ended up booking it for me...oh wait, i guess they could. I got there and got a manicure and pedicure from Jasmine who did a great job. Annoying about booking, but I guess it worked out in the end... Decided to go back another time a couple of weeks later and again, had problems making reservation on line. I called in the morning and Nana said Jasmine was in and to come in. I told her i'd be about 20 mins and she just kept saying it was fine because Jasmine was there and didn't have appts till later on. I thought awesome and left Queens early to head there before going to run a million other errands. I hit some heavy traffic and broke a million traffic rules to get there on time. When I arrived Jasmine was doing someone else's nails and seemed to have no idea I was coming in. Nana came out and said "You called at 10:32 and said you'd be here in 20 minutes" while looking down at her phone like it was a contract. I told her I had obviously called because I was going to go and it wasn't like I was an hour late... It was like 10 minutes more at most. I ask asked her why she didn't call me and she said it was because they were busy. (Um hello, if Jasmine didn't have appts, clearly she could of told the walk in please hold on I need to see where my appt is since they are so insistent on going hard on their illusion of exclusivity through appt-only services. She responded "Well, she'll be 20 minutes if you can wait"(again, never looking up from her computer and phone), to which I responded I couldn't. Her response: "Ok, then..." in a dismissive tone, again, still not looking up. Talk about terrible customer service. She could of in the least made eye contact with me while NOT apologizing for her screw up. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because Jasmine actually does great manicures. To begin, the lady who seems like the owner is extremely kind, she was great at making small talk and very pleasant. I got lost on my way there and she waited outside of the salon until I found it, which was extremely kind. I didn't expect her to do that and it made me feel great. But I believe the reason I got lost is because I was expecting a salon. This is NOT a salon. It is a store front and can most be compared to a store front. Don't expect to enter the establishment and see multiple chairs and different ladies doing nails because that is not going to happen. The place is small but very clean and I went there to get nail extensions with gel on Saturday, May 30th. They did my nails in what was the appointment desk which was kind of jarring and strange to me. I expected to be taken to another area to have them done but this was not the case, I was sat down at the same location I checked in for my appointment. After my manicurist buffed my nails she asked me to go to the bathroom to wash my nails off which I felt was very strange. It took her about 2 hours to complete my nail extensions which I felt was very time-consuming. But the biggest issue I have with my extensions is that one of my nail extensions broke by Tuesday, June 2nd, lasting only four days. To me, that's honestly ridiculous. Nails are supposed to be filled about every two weeks and that has to do with color, not because one of the nails broke. Because of that experience, I won't return to get nail extensions. But, the owner seems to be the one doing eyelashes and it seems as if she's doing a great job. I saw someone come out with lashes and she looked amazing. If I do return it would be to try that service or either the express spray tan. Also, they play good music there too which was a lot of fun and different from other places. I do regret not asking them to turn the music down because it was a little too loud. In summary, this is a beauty lounge, not a salon. The place is tiny and their nails don't last long which I feel makes it not worth it. But the eyelashes look nice, natural and full. Very poor customer service. Have been attempting after nearly 2 weeks to schedule just a trial wedding makeup session and NO ONE has returned my calls!! I have left several messages with the manager and another woman that answers the phone, and apparently I have been leaving my name and number for no reason at all.... as no one til this day has reached back out to me. I was told to send an email to the makeup artist and to CC the business owner, which I did, and have yet to receive a response... this was all over a week ago. You would think a business like this would be elated to receive several more prospective clients for a wedding day! Absolutely terrible. Very disappointing. read more

I purchased a groupon for eyelash extensions. I booked online with Vicki T for a weekday evening. Upon arrival, I saw a young woman outside smoking and I thought to myself "I hope she is not my technician"... of course the young lady ran inside right before I entered... I walked into the store and was seen by the owner...yes I said seen because there was no greeting. No hello, welcome to my establishment, who are you, nothing... she basically seemed annoyed that she had to be there after 5pm. She just screamed out to Vicki if she was ready and told me to go back to the room. Vicki gave a decent consult prior to beginning the application. As she began to apply the lashes, I noticed her hands smelled like cigarette smoke. What a turn off to a non smoker.... the owner was in the next room with a loud guy talking, heels click clacking up and down the hallway, and playing her own music over the relaxing mood Vicki tried to set for me. Not a relaxing experience.... The lashes looked wonderful and were applied appropriately. I got no instruction on how to care for the lashes, I guess because I told her I have had extensions before. The lashes began to fall out that night, so two weeks later they are sparse and basically gone. I actually wanted to go back, but poor customer service and a short lasting product are too many cons for me to consider returning. Going to keep searching for a place close to home...there are too many places nearby that offer the same services to deal with poor service and product. read more

First off let me say I LOVE this place!!! I first went there to get a Brazilian wax. I was nervous because I've had bad experiences at other places but she used hard wax which wasn't painful at all. She made me feel so comfortable I now schedule my appointments every 4 weeks! I've also had my minx eye lash extension done here. I have received so many compliments on how natural looking they are. You also can't get a better price places are charging $100 and up at nana-Bella spa it's $75!!! The worse place ever. Had an appointment after trying online for 3 weeks out. On my way, I called because I travelled an hr and would be 15 minutes late. They said they cannot accomdate me and I have to reschedule. After traveling for over an hr and waiting 3 weeks. They were not accommodating. They fail to realize that it's customers like us who keeps them employed. There are so many competitors who serve the customer. I would never use them. Very unprofessional and unaccommodating. So I came to NanaBella with destroyed lashes. The previous lash technician who I went to see, butchered my lashes, putting 3-4 extensions on one real lash, globs of glue on my eye lid, and extensions on my lash line. My eyes always felt like there was something tugging at them and it was such an uncomfortable feeling. I did not know how correctly applied lashes felt like until I visited Karlene. Walking in, the shop is modern and elegant with a stress free, home-y environment. Karlene is very delicate, making sure I was ok moments through out the application. There is a quiet, nicely decorated private room for the process, an amazingly comfy chair with a blanket off to the side, and the music will put you right to sleep. Karlene, as well as her staff, are very professional and will definitely recommend NanaBella to anyone looking for lash extensions or any other service she provides. Last but not least, if you are looking for a cheap quick application, this is not the place to go. Karlene takes times and is very precise with each lash that is applied and I am extremely happy with the service given. I had a great experience today at Nana Bella. My appointment was gladly moved up which I appreciated, which I appreciated because of it being New Years Eve! The owner was there and she was great from the start. She examined my eyebrows to see if I needed waxing because I was there for a first time eyebrow to tinting and she saw that I definitely needed my eyebrows waxed. She did an amazing job waxing my brows and I loved the shape of them. Afterwards, she tinted them and she explained the process and she did an amazing job. I loved the results!! Thank you so much!
