To add to my comment below. The business owner or manager asked me to remove my comment. I told her I would update the review after I come back in for a manicure (which they issued as an apology). The woman Christine asked again to remove, which I don't think is professional. Then today she has the audacity to say she is going to remove the gift cards! Stay away!! Horrible management and horrible customer service! I While I do love my nails I felt completely cheated out of my service. My sister and I booked a VIP pedicure, which according to their internet site included everything from a, "park avenue princess pedicure" and much more. Everything sounded lovely, and I wanted to treat my sister on her birthday so I said why not? Plus the salon had 4.5 stars so what could go wrong? My sister got her technician first and I received my technician 10 minutes later. Things started to go down hill when my technician was doing the exact same thing as my sisters technician when she started later. Then I realized both our technicians were starting to put nail polish on our toes, but we didn't receive the clarisonic deep-cleansing massage or serum-infused foot steaming treatment as stated on their website. I figured maybe there was some miscommunication so let our technicians finish. As I mentioned earlier I started ten minutes later than my sister, but we both finished at the same time. Then when we were taken to the drying station I asked one of the ladies, which pedicure service did we receive. She stated, "The VIP pedicure". When I told her that I did not receive the clarisonic cleansing massage and the serum infused steaming treatment she tried telling me that I was wrong. Then she showed me a pamphlet, which stated exactly what I said. They offered me 10% off, but only after 10 mins of back and forth with this women. Ridiculous! You charge us $75 dollars for this pedicure, but don't even provide all the services you stated in your own pamphlet. Horrible customer service! read more

The location is good to find on street parking and then after take a short stroll south for some super close shopping at some of the best stores. Don't go here!!! I went in on Saturday to get my nails done with nail forms and the lady was very nice and professional. I was doing this for my birthday. Unfortunately she was rushed by another customer. I left because I had to make it to a restaurant reservation at 7pm and it was around 6:50pm. I left and realized there were a lot of dips and the work was not that great especially having payed $180 for them and spent 3 hours on the chair. You can't see it unless you look at it from the side or in light which I didn't see. I called the store after and told them I wanted them off and my money back and they told me it was fine and to come tomorrow when they open. I came in and immediately they denied to give me my money so they called the boss and someone else to see what they can do.The main lady I believe her name is Christine based on the email she forced me to write, said she wouldn't do anything not return my money not fix it . The other manager Kelly called and spoke to me and she was nicer about the situation and decided to speak the the boss lady about maybe fixing the set. then the boss lady walked in a couple of minutes after that. I showed her the obvious things that were wrong with my nails, some where thicker than others, one was cracked and one was chipped and looked like a bird beak and she kept simply saying "they're fine they're perfect" which they were not. I sat down and wrote a one star review because I believed that was the end of the interaction and nothing was gonna be done to my nails. After hassling to get them fixed for a little over 15 mins she decided to finally fix ONLY 3 nails that were the most obvious. I asked her if she could change the color since they were so badly shaped and they color only made it worst and she said that it's be another charge like my previous money paid wasn't enough and i explained that I traveled 2 hours to get there and I have to pay another $50 to change and finally she decides to change it for free and shaved the color off. I told her i had to go to work at 1 so she wanted to make it fast so i Can leave. she started to come around and told Paja one of the workers to work on my nails and add acrylic and fix it. I was happy she decided on fixing it no extra charge and she even offered Complimentary coffee. Paja was excellent at her job fixed every single one perfect and made sure it was nice and done before moving on. Christine saw the review and told paja to stop and refused To let her finish. She began to yell "why would I do that " even though I explained that I would update it after she fixed and display the new nails Paja fixed. She refused to keep doing my nails and insisted she was gonna call her lawyer. I waited like I didn't already said I had to leave at 1. After I deleted my review she let Paja continue. Then she stopped Paja and told me I had to write down my phone number and email just In case cause she didn't trust me. Again I told her once she's done with the new set I'd write a better review but she refused and then insisted I write a good review email to her in order for her to continue. What ?! That's so unprofessional and crazy. I wrote "they fixed my nails" because I was I'm disbelief she was forcing me to write a good email review. Finally I wrote an honest email and again she denied finishing my nails until I took out the part that mentioned she was forcing me to write the good review email or else she wouldn't finish my nails. However I expected a bit more sophistication and I was pleased. -First order of business was to choose my color as usual. However what the dis offer were enough colors of the spectrum. - As soon as I sat down for my mani I was offered a beverage (various selections of coffee/tea/juice/water). - The mani seating is plush with pillows and cute little bath pools. - My technician was attentive to my feet, took her time but wasn't slow. - The manicure was equally attentive to detail even after I smudged my finger there wasn't that usual attitude to redo the polish over. I really wanted to love this place but was left surprisingly disappointed. I decided to finally try PLP as a birthday treat to myself and was deterred by both the massive cockroach I saw that hung out in my shoes while having my manicure done and the staffs nonchalant attitude (their solution was to put sanitizer on it but only after I asked they do SOMETHING). The person helping me was lovely, but I also wasn't allowed to get a massage because it was too close to closing time. To top it all off some of my nails weren't quite finished it seems and I have an entire gel nail coming off less than 2 days later. I have made every attempt to get in touch with the salon owner to handle this quietly, but since no one is getting back to me I have no choice but to alert the masses (I'll spare you the roach pics though). I can't say enough good things about this nail place!! I'm SO glad I found it! Yes, it's very expensive as far as nail places go, but in my opinion it's 100% worth it!! First off, the technicians are spectacular (I've had two diff ppl), they truly take their time and don't rush. You never feel like they just want to get the job done fast and get you out so they can take as many people as possible! Second, their attention to detail is above and beyond! They never mess up! They never get polish all over/around your nails or on your skin. The paint job is flawless. Third, and the most important in my opinion, their gel manicures literally last forever!! I got my last gel manicure on Jan 6th and it's now Feb 3rd and my polish (tho my nails are naturally grown out) still looks great!! I'm talking no peeling, no chips, nothing. And I sit at a desk typing ALL day. Their products are top quality, so the gel manicures are top quality! I've been getting gel since it first came out, and this is by far the best gel manicure I've ever had. It's also the most expensive I've ever had, but I'd rather pay $50 for a quality manicure that's going to last 4 weeks and never peel off, than $25 for a mediocre manicure that chips and peels off in two weeks, so you end up going to the salon two or three times a month. Their pedicures are amazing too! Relaxing, and not rushed at all. Also, the customer service is top notch! It's definitely not your run of the mill dirty quick-in, quick-out NYC nail place, it's so much nicer! The place is spotless and SO sterile! I went here to get an acrylic fill and gel manicure yesterday and it looks fantastic! It's really hard to find a place that knows what they're doing when it comes to acrylic in the city and my technician did a great job. Yooni polished my nails and it's probably the best polish job I've ever had done. This place also has a cute and fun environment in a great location on Madison Ave. Expect to pay more than you would at an average place. A Gel filling with gel nail polish, $100 dollars. They charge $50 to 60.00 for the gel filling and if you don't tell them you want the gel polish they will just give you the cheap polish that comes off in 2-3 days. If you ask for the gel polish, it is an extra $ 50 bucks. I went there last week, had gel filling done and was given the cheap polish that started coming off in 2 days and wasn't shiny anymore. Went back and spoke to the owner and was informed that each one cost 50 to 60 bucks, total=100 dollars. This is Ludacris for a gel filling and gel polish!!! especially when both times I went the polish job was sloppy and still had smudges. I treated my boyfriend's sister to a bday mani and though prices are high, thought it would be worth the splurge for the special occasion. We weren't offered the complimentary mimosas (even though I made sure we went during mimosa hour) and had to ask if we could get them (they finally gave us some begrudgingly and I specifically asked for one with ginger ale in it since I didn't feel like drinking that night, but they gave us both alcoholic ones - I didn't bother asking again), and the manicure was awful - I got a regular mani and it chipped the next day. I did not have a good experience here. It started out fine -- a nice atmosphere, the tech (Meggy) was friendly and there was no wait. However, pretty early on things started to go downhill. She did my cuticles without soaking them at all. I got a powder dip gel mani, and when she told me she was finished, there were smudges in 2 nails on my left hand. I showed them to her and she proceeded to try to fix them in a few different ways. In the meantime, I found a smudge on another nail on the same hand, so she fixed that as well. She didn't offer to give me any kind of discount or credit for the mistakes and extra time it took. She was clearly angry and unfriendly when I asked for a discount and then gave her a small tip. read more

Kelly did my nails and she took her time and made the design perfect even though it was a challenge. They came out perfect and I got them just in time for a concert that I'm going to! I arranged a bachelorette mani/pedi brunch here last month and the ladies were phenomenal!!!! They were so accommodating and flexible with me throughout the process, and I was able to arrange everything via email. I picked a date and start time in advance and then told them the services each girl wanted. I paid a 50% deposit in advance and the rest on the day of. They were very understanding when I added several girls to the party a couple days in advance and didn't make me pay more up-front. They also allowed us to serve a light brunch by setting up some side tables that the girls could grab our yummy nosh and mimosas/bellinis from. The facilities were extremely clean and cheerful. The bride-to-be was so excited about the rose petals they put in the water for her pedicure. A bunch of the girls were saying how they were going to take their moms here for a Mother's Day treat. On the way out, the ladies even helped seal and protect my pedicure with plastic bags for my feet since I hadn't worn sandals (whoops!). Simply the best pedicure I've ever had. Walk in with your eyes closed and you'll find it hard to believe you're in a nail salon. No acetone used here neither are blades. Imagine real rose petals being massaged on your feet and legs while sipping tea from a beautiful white china tea cup and saucer. Nothing but the best when it comes to nail polish; I'm wearing a beautiful blue Chanel.
