Anyways, I got them done around the end of November for an European trip. It's now the end of January and the extensions are still on. Obviously, a lot less on each eye but I haven't gotten a refill and it is still noticeable that I have lash extensions. These extensions have withstood European wind and Chicago freezing temperatures and snow. Plus, they are comfortable. An important factor to note though is that I don't wear makeup, so it helps that I'm not washing off eye makeup. Regardless, I think they are absolutely worth the price , which is definitely more on the affordable end. I have gotten lots of extensions in the past living previously in New York and other suburbs of Chicago. This is my new favorite and go to place. They deserve more credit for sure.

Hello, I've been looking for a new lash tech since last year because my original lash tech is on a…read morehiatus at the moment. I booked with Alana because her work looked good and she had good reviews. I got my lashes done Saturday Nov. 15th, at 2pm. I went to the location and waited in the waiting room for 15 minutes. As I was drafting up my text message to Alana about canceling the appointment because I waited too long for her without any communication that she would be running late, she came out to get me. I went back to Alana's room where she would her son on the floor playing games with the volume up. Nothing was communicated to me that her son would be there. During the appointment, she kept stopping to talk/tend to her son. Then, she ended up putting him out of the room. She took her time on my left eye then rushed on my right eye. The appointment is then over as I'm getting situated in the room, Alana runs and grabs her other client. I got my stuff, checked the time which was 4:25pm and paid. I loved the lashes. They were so cute until they started falling out left and right. The right eye which she rushed on continued falling out. I've never experienced that with the three other lash techs I've been to. I messaged Alana on Friday Nov. 21st, voicing my concern and requesting a refund. To that Alana stated I'm going to conduct a survey for my other four clients from that day. What does my experience have to do with your other clients' experiences? Those other clients could be regular clients, I'm a new client. Then Alana proceeds to say I would rather not fix the problem so I'll just reimburse you. That's fine I didn't want her to fix the problem to begin with, she offered to fix it. Which I was going to decline anyways. After a lot of back and forth and waiting for me, I just requested a refund which she ended up sending at 1:54am, Sunday Nov. 23rd. After re-examining her website, booking site, google page, and instagram there aren't any photos of POC that she has serviced and that should have been a red flag. Why did I get ridiculously unnatural eyelash extensions?…read more Well, it's because without make-up I look like the landlord lady from the movie Kingpin. It's not pretty. I know it's not pretty. And I normally don't even care, but I got sucked into this crazy idea that I wanted to look like a girl even when I didn't have cake-load of make-up on + they had a really stellar September special price for a full set, so I went for it. Regrets? At first, yes, I wasn't exactly sold on X-tina's after having come from a previous few experiences as a posh lash salon in the city ($$$$$$), but now that I've become a regular and gotten settled into the routine and vibe, I'm more at ease with it. It's located in a kind of run-down strip mall that I'd passed no less than a million times before in Palatine and never noticed. They also have a location in the south suburbs (either Palos or Orland or Frankfort, I can't remember). You need to make an appointment, no walk-ins, and you can do so by calling their number and leaving a voicemail, or messaging them on facebook. From there Xtina will match you with an eyelash technician and you can get a time/date squared away from there. They do book quite a bit out, so expect at least a week or two, or even more in between your call and first appointment. I see Monika, who is young, but an absolute peach. I'll be real, the first time I came I was kind of weary of the suite, only because, like I said, the place I'd previously gone to in the city was extremely high-end, to the point where I could only go a few times and then I basically broke. Everything in the place was immaculate and white and quiet and it was just much more sterile and you definitely paid a premium for it... like, $150 every 3 weeks. Yikes. So obviously, that didn't last long and I could only go a few times after purchasing a Groupon-type thing. I then went close to 2 years, and decided I wanted to try lashes again, but see if I could find a more affordable spot. Xtina's Lash Extensions... BINGO! They had a September special for a full set for $89, and prices range for fills based on how long in between appointments you go. For myself, my lash extensions don't last long. I only wear make-up maybe once or twice a week, so I don't think it's from taking my make-up off, but I do sleep on my face and I think because of that that I can't go more than a week and a half without getting down to the point where there's basically only 1 eyelash left. I now schedule regular appointments every week, which runs me $20, and Monika puts on a full new set for me each time -- a steal! I just recently upgraded to the thinner mink lashes for $10 more a fill. They weigh a little less and look more natural than the more synthetic ones. Getting your lashes done here isn't the most relaxing thing ever, but I have to say, I really enjoy hearing the lash technicians tell stories and gossip about their personal lives. I work from home, alone, and I really miss hearing those kinds of human interactions and while it makes me sound crazy, listening to their personal business is one of my favorite parts of coming in. Honestly. It takes about an hour and the lashes aren't as precise as the place I went in the past (that would take about 3 hours), the lashes are put on in more of a grouping-type fashion, but it only takes and hour and while it doesn't look quite as natural as the other place i visited, I have to weigh it out with what's a better value overall, and the prices here just can't be beat, plus the girls here are much more down to Earth that the judgy girls at the city place... even if sometimes it's very obvious that they've just eaten a meatball sub and now have their hands all over your face (not my favorite thing, but that price). This place is low key, a little run-down, but mega affordable. WARNING: You get to pick from different lengths and curves of lashes, but when it comes time for the ends to be trimmed (at the end of the appointment) it WILL feel like you're a breath away from having your eyeball cut out, but so far, that's never happened so I have to believe that it's just a feeling you get, and not something that will actually happen. I think it's that when it comes to your eyes, it feels like the snips are a lot closer than they actually are. Overall, I like this place and I'll continue to come in for my weekly appointments for as long as I have $20-$30 to spare. Basically, I'd rather skip a meal and get lashes here than not and be stuck with my beady-eyed Kingpin land-lady look. Worth it.

Of course I got the full set with a fill in because that is such a great deal (fill ins cost $35). There is two locations for this place, one being in Palatine and the other in Orland Park (14475 John Humphrey Dr, Suite H, Orland Park, Illinois 60462) and there are 3 lash experts you can call to set up an appointment with. I called on Monday, February 18th and booked an appointment with Monika at noon on Wednesday, February 20th. Wednesday came, and me being the over tired student I am, I overslept my alarm. I woke up half an hour into my appointment and to a text/call from Monika reminding me of my appointment and asking if I needed clearer directions and if everything was ok. Luckily I called her as soon as I woke up, explained the situation and she still took me in the very same day! When I got there, it wasn't hard to find you just had to go into the second floor of the office building and they have their own suite. Monika went over with me the process and I filled out a form and such and then we got started. Now this isn't my first time getting eyelash extensions, and let me tell you I was so ecstatic that this place actually let me see the lash options I had and I got to choose the ones I wanted! After choosing the best ones for me (not too long because I constantly wear glasses and I didn't want them to keep hitting my lenses, but curled enough so that you could still see how full and noticeable they were), I laid down and asked Monika to take a before and after picture and she happily obliged and even took some on her phone too, and off to work she went. The process took about an hour and it wasn't awkward or anything. Christina, the owner, was working on other clients next to us so there was plenty of talking and laughter and an overall great atmosphere. When I was done, my eyelashes looked SO amazing! I am so thrilled because at the other two places I went to, they couldn't even compare to how glamourous they looked now. Monika also gave me an instruction and a FAQ sheet and a free eyelash wand as well and said she will call me in two weeks to see how the lashes are and to set up the fill in appointment. Needless to say, I will most definitely be back here as soon as I am due for a fill in and I recommend this place to all women who are looking to get those awesome lashes without breaking the bank!
