But with all the great reviews and photos I decided to contact her. I just love how you can message LaShanna through yelp. She is prompt and professional in her responses so I decided to give her place a chance. I am so glad I did! She greeted us at the door with a big smile and called us by name. I loved that. Actions speak louder than photos. I searched and found many options with great photos of their work, but I was blessed when I was directed to this salon for my sisters braids. Everyone (stylists, customers, and the AAA driver we called to jump our battery) were amazingly friendly and talented. We got there early, and had an opportunity to see some finished products before our appointment, and we both agreed everything we saw was more beautiful in person than any of the photos available on this site. Would give more stars if I could. I spoke with Brandy on Friday and told her I wanted to get my 17 month old hair braided. We made a Saturday appointment at 9:00 AM. I told her if my baby sits in my lap she will think I'm doing it and we should not have any problems. As she sat in my lap Brandy worked her entire hair in one hour without my baby crying or moving around, she just sat still. I was amazed how she maneuvered around each section while reaching over me as my baby sat in my lap. I think the whole parlor was amazed too. Can't thank Brandy and the parlor enough. Let me start off my saying that the owner is very nice. But the girl who was braiding my hair didn't listen to how I wanted the style to be. In the end my $200 braids weren't worth it. I could've gone somewhere else for half the price. The girl didn't really know what she was doing. This review is so long overdue! The professionalism that comes from LaShanna is a blessing. To be able to support a black owned business like hers is a pleasure. She truly appreciates her customers. Her work is neat and her and her assistant will get your hair braided FAST! Gone are the days of sitting for hours getting your hair braided! I remember when I first called. She originally said $150 over the phone but actually charged me $200. I felt my stylist was very slow and I didn't expect to be at the shop all day. Not happy with my braids. One side is thicker than the other, they're stiff, and not as long as I requested. Since they're pretty expensive IMO, this quality is kinda unacceptable. Also, I was quoted 2.5 hours of braid time, but it took double that - 5 hours. The only redeeming thing about my experience was the fact that the ladies were friendly and accommodating. I called to make an appointment and spoke with the owner. I sent her a picture of the style I wanted and was quoted $125 for 2 rows of cornrows or $175 if I wanted individuals in the back. I informed her that I did not want individuals in the back, so she said the price would be $125. After making the the appointment, I went to the beauty supply and spent $20 on braid hair and I washed my hair and let it air dry. When I arrived at the shop, I was told that the style I want would be $175. I was furious, gave the braider a piece of my mind, and left. Now my hair is all over my head, and I have a really important engagement in the morning. I had a 9:45am appointment and was waiting for about 35 minutes. I only got 2 French braids for $55. The braids were sleek, however the stylist didn't start one of the braids at my hairline, and instead started it about a finger's width away. The other one started at my hairline. It was very noticeable and it looked dumb. She didn't show me a mirror and just let me go without even trying to fix it. Not worth $55. read more

Usually I come here because the customer service is top notch and it's quick. I have been here at least 4x and I hate to give this review. Lashanna is so sweet, she even opened up on a holiday so I can get my hair done. Anyways, I called to make an appointment 2 days prior, the woman who answered the phone wasn't very polite. I brushed it off as nothing and still decided I would come. I sent a picture and they quoted me a price. I asked if I should bring 2 packets of hair. No answer in the text. I called and the young lady stated "if you want them to be thick". Here I am Friday morning, mind you I have to shoot on set tomorrow. My appointment is at 1pm. I wait a whole a hour after my appointment to even get in a chair. When I get in the chair they tell me they can't do my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you mean?! I sent you a picture, you approved!!!!
