So, I have gone to Lana to get eye lash extensions, regular manicures, gel manicures (with both bio sculpture gel and regular gel), and spa pedicures. When you go to Lana, expect to receive one-on-one exceptional, clean, friendly, quality service. She has a knack for detail and nail-design, which I have gotten for several special occasions. I've always gotten compliments about my lashes or my nails and the polish always lasts a little bit longer than other places I have gone to. All her tools are sanitized and her work space is clean. Another really good thing is that she doesn't push more expensive add-ons or features on you; she truly looks out for your best wishes and what she thinks will look best on you. My girlfriend who is an esthetician also, comes to Lana regularly for her lashes and nails. If you come, be prepared to spend a decent amount of time in her salon room at the back of Kija Hair Salon and don't rush perfection! read more

I'm so glad I finally had a chance to sit down and write this review. When I met Lana - only a month or so ago - I had tried probably four or five other local salons and about three or four in the Sacramento area. Most of them I only went to once or twice, because the experience of having someone else do my nails made me profoundly uncomfortable. I'm a compulsive finger-picker and have been for as long as I can remember. As a result, I have to keep my nails crazy short because as soon as I have a free edge, I start picking at my fingers until they're all gross and bloody. When I went to other nail salons, even as nice as everyone was, they would without fail tell me that my fingers looked gross or ugly because of my short nails. They weren't trying to be mean, it would just slip out and they would awkwardly backpedal. So when I met Lana, I just assumed that was something I would have to hear from everyone. And honestly I was starting to feel bad about myself! Did everyone think I was gross? When I shook people's hands, were they inwardly cringing at my stubby nails? I've been seeing Lana every week since our first appointment, and she has absolutely always made me feel great about my nails. Like, now I feel awesome all the time, because I get to know I have perfect nails constantly, my cuticles are finally not ragged scrappy pieces of skin, and I'm not picking my hands anymore. For the first time in my life, I actually have pretty nails!!! Back to Lana, though! She spends so much time making my nails look perfect. I haven't been to anywhere else where they put in even half the time and effort that she does. She is truly without parallel. I'm a talker (sorry Lana), and I've learned so many cool neat things from her! She's always willing to answer any of my bizarre questions. When I asked a question neither of us knew the answer to (what is it that makes one washing machine capable of handling more laundry than another, besides the obvious increase in drum size??), we both speculated about it, and tried to work out an answer. When you talk to her, she's never just nodding and agreeing - she's always actively having a real conversation with you. So really, if you're reading this and trying to decide whether or not to make an appointment with her, go for it. I can't recommend her more highly. read more

Lana is a real, legitimate nail technician. She's extremely talented and creates incredibly gorgeous nails without compromising your natural nails. I was so nervous to try a new tech since I moved down from northern CA. Lana had my mind at ease just on the phone a with her. She clearly has a passion for what she does and it shows in her work. My nails are the exact length and shape I asked for. She checked several times with me to be certain I was happy. Lana is truly a hidden gem in Bay Area! I mean... she is so caring, very knowledgeable and professional. I had very good and strong nails before, and I love to have my nail polish on. I used to go for gel manicures and since I had to move couple of times, I had to change my salon. I don't have much of knowledge but I just realized that there were vertical lines on my nail and also my nails were becoming very weak. I gave my nails a break from gels and then found out about Lana. After talking to her, she mentioned that some damages can be permanent that can be because of the way that my polishes were taken off, but there is still hope to regain my natural healthy nails back and making sure that no additional damage will happen and she offered me Biosculpture. She helped me with my nails knowledge. Also she literally pampers your nails so give yourself that time. I seriously never ever write reviews, but felt compelled to write one for Lana and her work. She runs her own business in a cute and cozy spa like environment in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. I came to her for a deluxe pedicure and had such a relaxing time getting pampered with meticulous nail care, sugar scrub, hot towels, an amaaaaazingly long and thoughtful foot/leg massage, and a beautiful polish perfect for springtime. Lana also uses quite high end products from Europe that did an epic job of making my feet as smooth as butter. I feel that this is the mani pedi experience that we all hope for, yet often times don't get, as most nail places are bustling with multiple other clients in chairs next to you and nail technicians doing average and inattentive jobs. With Lana, your experience is individualized and you have the comfort of your own little space without distractions around you, and you get her full attention. The music and a selection of coffees and sparkling water was a nice compliment to the amazing service I received.
