The owner Taty was very helpful in scheduling appointments on a flexible basis and very communicative. The aesthetician Liana was wonderful as well with the lip blush session (had the first session). She's light with her hands, so the pain was minimal during the process. I'm super excited to see the results after the touch up! The picture attached is day 2 after the blush so my lips are swollen, but the color is vivid and clearly will shed into a beautiful, light pink shade as time passes Overall, clean facility and friendly, professional service overall due to the owner's care towards her business. 10/10 recommend. read more

Initially I was impressed by this place but let me say the retention of the lashes is absolutely awful. I've been to a couple different lash places & always listened to the instructions (24 hours don't get them wet, brush gently, no oil-based makeup). & have had them retain for at least 3 weeks with minimal fallout at every place EXCEPT this place. Tova did my lashes- she is very sweet but surprisingly did them very quickly. Needless to say, they had just about zero percent retention. When I tell you half of them fell out within 3 days I mean it. I know the owner likes to keep busy more clients means more business but this is NOT the correct way to go about it. read more

Loved my lashes after getting them done here. I'm the type that wears only sunscreen, tinted lip balm, and have eyelash extensions on. I opted for a medium volume style with a D curl - my usual was a M curl with my old lash tech who ended up moving to South Jersey. It's hard to find a good lash tech in NYC and so glad I found Lashes and the City. This location is also perfect because it's near my threading place a few doors down and my bank :) Definitely coming back again to get my refills in and may think about brow lamination. read more

It only takes 1 bad visit... I've been a regular customer of Sarah's for the last 5-6 months, getting lash lifts every 5 weeks. About an hour before my last visit, I received a text saying that Sarah was running behind and if I could come 15 minutes later. I said sure, and arrived promptly at the new time. Ended waiting another 15 minutes before I asked when she would be done. The business owner, Tatyana, was there at the time and was able to see me. If I hadn't been rushed and thought about it a little harder, I think I would have declined and just walked out of the office. I was expecting to have Sarah do my lashes (and she was what I was used to), and to be honest, the lash lift with Tatyana was one of the more excruciating aesthetic experiences I've had in a while - for whatever reason, the chemicals had gone into one of my eyes and it was burning and tearing up for the last 10 minutes. Additionally, while I was lying there getting my lashes done, Tatyana and Sarah were talking to each other about something that should definitely have a trigger warning (to do with severe mental health/illness). It made me very uncomfortable, and though I know they didn't mean to do that, these sensitive topics should not be discussed in front of clients. I want to stress that Tatyana and Sarah were both extremely nice and friendly, but this was not the experience I was expecting. Sarah never even apologised for being late/basically missing our appointment. I'm actually kind of frustrated about these events because now I have to find a new lash place. read more

They give the full dramatic look but feel really natural. (I can't even feel them) Service was also really great. This was my third visit here and my usual lash tech wasn't there. Anyway this lash tech was very nice as everyone else is, and she was able to pull my profile of my last session. She asked me how I prefer my lashes, I told her I wanted it the same way from the visit before. I really liked that set Sarah did. After being there for the expected time, the set was not how I wanted it. It actually looks like I need a refill and this is the day after the install. This is unfortunate because I really wanted to treat myself to some beautiful lashes, and I'm not happy with this set. Lashes already started falling out the next day. I need a two week even a one week refill and we all know lash extensions aren't cheap. So to pay the price for a full set that looks like I was getting an install in 30 min is upsetting. read more

So I wanted try Lash lift + brow lamination. ( take a break from using mascara every single day) They had also special promotion so I said let's do It! But my experience wasn't the best. My eyebrows and lashes were burning like crazy during the session and it was very uncomfortable. When I mentioned how I'm feeling, the technician just answered it's normal.
