Came here after several of my family members got their procedure done here, and I'm glad I did. I came in for a free consultation, which was done quickly with hardly any wait time, and I was able to schedule my lasik appointment right afterwards. They had many dates and time slots to choose from and even offered me the procedure at another location since none of the options worked for me. I chose to stick with this location since I enjoyed my experience so much, and they even offered me $200 off if I could make one of the earlier dates work. In addition to being quick and flexible, the entire staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They all are very thorough, answer all questions, and try their best to make you comfortable. On the day of the procedure, they do another quick eye exam, and Dr. Smith takes the time to see and talk to you before and after the procedure to make sure you're comfortable. LasikPlus in Duluth is not at all like going to your typical eye doctor. I had consultations at various other places before deciding on LasikPlus. The staff at LasikPlus are very friendly, welcoming, and efficient. They specialize in laser eye surgery and while they do churn out patient after patient, they do an amazing job. You have the option of coming in for a free consultation and then having lasik that same day if you meet the criteria. If not, or you want to think things over and plan it for the future, they do another quick eye exam prior to the surgery. They anticipate any potential problems that you could have - dry eyes, risk of infection depending on your profession, past eye history (like previous injuries) and address them before your surgery date. The procedure itself is very fast. You're in and out and expected to come back the following day for a check up. Dr. Smith called every patient that night to check to see how they were doing that first day of surgery. Overall, very satisfied with my experience here. Worth every penny and I have had no complications yet. read more

I had been considering LASIK for several years and finally got to the point where having multiple pairs of glasses for different things was too much of a pain for me to deal with any longer. After speaking to several friends about their experience with their LASIK surgery and how happy they were with it, I decided to take the plunge, and am soooo glad I did! I decided to go with mono focal surgery and have one eye done for close vision and my dominant eye done for distance vision. I had tried it before with contacts and had no problems with it, my brain works it out and I don't notice any difference unless I cover one eye. I had the surgery 2 days ago and am already seeing things better than I have in a long time! Dr. Wild was super patient with me, taking his time to answer all my questions, explain the procedure and what to expect, even what could be done later if I didn't like the mono vision. Dr. Smith was great, explaining what was going to happen during surgery and even telling me what was going on during the surgery. He and the tech made sure I was comfortable and had enough numbing drops in my eyes that I couldn't feel anything that was happening. All of the staff from the girls that checked me in at the front, to the techs that helped me through each process were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions I had. They put my mind at ease about having surgery on my eyes. Listen y'all. This literally changed my life. Dr. Smith is one of the most gentle surgeons. I was terrified because my husband got lasik two years ago... but it is confirmed that he was a big baby. No pain, nothing. Even during the procedure. I just felt a little pressure and it was done. It may be uncomfortable for others but it's really A NOTHING SURGERY! It was actually pretty relaxing. Right after surgery, I was able to see! I've been wearing glasses since kindergarten and I'm now 25 years old. I went from having -8.75/-8.50 vision to 20/15 the day after surgery! I am a little blurry but it's expected and it will get better over the next few months which I'm absolutely fine with! The only thing I feel post surgery is like I have sand in my eye. But I've gotten used to it and it doesn't even both me! I seriously want to thank Dr. Smith for his patience and kindness, Brianna(hopefully I spelled it right) for always being extremely informative and understanding each of my concerns, and also I can't forget Dr. Wild (and it's pronounced HER-BERT), who was there to see how terrible my eye sight really was and give me a detailed explanation on what I need now and may or may not need in the future(due to my stronger prescription). June 4, 2020 I had my surgery in the early morning and the process was quick and easy. I had to go into the office alone, due to COVID-19 precautions, and my Dad and sister waited for me in the car for about an hour at most. I was super anxious but the doctor's confidence and professionalism helped me calm down and go through with the surgery. Immediately after surgery my vision was a little blurred but most things were distinguishable. I did have to wear the sunglasses LasikPlus provided me during the drive back home to protect my sensitive eyes from the daylight and UV rays. As the numbing drops from surgery wore off, I could feel strong stinging as if I had eyelashes in both of my eyes which my sister said was probably eye dryness (she had PRK last year). The instructions given to me by LasikPlus were to take a long nap after doing my eye drop treatment (they provide supplies and instructions for after surgery) which helped calm the stinging. After my 4 hour nap, I could see clearer than I had been able to with contacts or glasses since I was in 6th grade! I paid for retreatments back then and I have to say they seem to have created a system that keeps folks from scheduling appointments that honor their warrantees by not answering their call center line or email. I wanted to wait until the day after my procedure to give an update. I had my procedure on 3/28/2018. One of the BEST decisions I've ever made! I researched Lasik eye surgery years ago, but never followed through. As the years past and the constant wearing of contact lenses and glasses, my vision appeared to become worse. After doing my research and finding that Dr. Smith has performed over 98,000 Lasik procedures, I immediately made an appointment for a consultation. After my consultation, I made an appointment for my procedure without hesitation. My procedure was performed on 3/28/2018. Only a few short hours after my procedure, my vision was crisp and I was able to see objects I was not able to just hours before. It was a pleasant surprise to get a call from Dr. Smith to check on me later that evening. I am just overjoyed with the results of my procedure. To go from -6 to 20/15 vision, I am BEYOND overjoyed. I posted this to my Facebook timeline a few days after my surgery. I think it sums up how awesome Lasik is: Imagine if you have never ever had potatoes. Everyone is telling you "dude, potatoes are awesome! You should totally give this potato life a go!" And you are like "nah, man. Potatoes are overrated, I'll stick with this lettuce." Then, one day, you are like "screw it, I'm scared, but I will use these super dangerous tools to peel and cook a potato!" ...and you do, and then you are like "you bastards, why did no one tell me that the potatoes were THIS awesome!!!!!" That's how getting LASIK feels. It's like eating a potato for the first time, but instead of a potato you can see things that you were NEVER able to see before with glasses or contacts! It's life changing! Now, as for the practice... Dr. Smith was very nice, polite and prompt. The surgery went well, he and his staff gave very clear instructions on what to do and what not to do with your brand new eyes. Everything I needed was provided and I was ready to go immediately after surgery. The only thing that I would change is the super long wait times for appointments and the day of surgery. So, if you are planning on getting lasik with Dr. Smith, bring a book, a snack, something to drink, maybe a pillow to take a nap. Other than that, this place is FANTASTIC! read more

I was scheduled For 10:00 in the morning and check in at 9:45 I was told to expect to wait for an Hour or 2. Waited till 1:00 asked the receptionist if I was next she said I was. I had my free consultation on Tuesday and scheduled lasik for that Friday (today). I wanted to wait to go through the whole experience until reviewing and 6 hours post op, I can tell you it is worth it. I went with the Visx and the whole surgery took maybe 5 minutes. I only waited an hour and a half, if that, this morning. The second eye was worst than the first because you know what's coming, but nothing hurt. I got a lot of "you're doing great, almost done." Which helped. Getting off the table you can already see, but it looks like a dream (foggy /hazy). An hour after the procedure my left eye watered a lot (it's still watering) and felt like an old contact was in there. I took my nap, woke up, and voila, I CAN SEE! Here for my 2 week follow up and all is well being contact and eye glass free. Dr Smith is very experienced and the team makes you at ease. Very professional office operation. Not sure how many procedures the doctor has performed but by the number of people and speed at which this is done has to be thousands a year. It's a very fast maybe 4 minutes per eye. Zero pain during and after. Did experience dry eyes as expected and you get eye drops for it. All in all great team, great doctor. Oh yea ask about Mono Vision, which is what I did. So far, it has been a great experience. Everyone I have encountered here has been friendly and have made me feel welcomed. I tried on 3 different occasions to make an appointment over the last year and kept cancelling because I would get too nervous. When I finally came in, everything went smoothly. They answered any questions and concerns that I had. I was able to come in for surgery a couple of days after the free consultation. As for the surgery, it was over before I knew it (10-15min). Dr. Smith was reassuring and professional. I did not feel any pain. The most that I felt was probably a slight discomfort. I was told beforehand that I could return to work afterwards but for me that was not the case. I had sensitivity to light and my eyes felt irritated but that all went away after a nap. The only downside to Lasik Plus is the wait time. The day of the surgery my appointment time was at 3:15 and the surgery was not done until 6pm so you (and your driver) would need to make arrangements to be here a few hours. The free consultation was also the same way (about 2 hours in the office). Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend Lasik Plus. read more

Had surgery yesterday. The consultation 2 days before was great. Dr Wild assured me I was a good candidate for Lasik. On the day of my surgery, the procedure was moved to the Galleria location instead of the Duluth location where I had signed up. This was a bit inconvenient, but we made it work. At the Galleria, the office was packed. It took 4 hours to go into the room for my procedure. Fifteen minutes later, I could see! No kidding, immediate results. As I was told, I've experienced many of the common side effects for the first couple weeks after surgery. I'm very happy I finaly had this done and I'm thankful to Dr. Smith for a successful surgery. read more

After 10+ years of wearing glasses, I no longer need them because now I have 20/20 vision!!! Everyone is sooo friendly and kind!! My procedure went perfect with no problem. After the treatment my eyes were hurting mostly the left eye but it's all in the process as the days pass by and I do experience some glares here and there. In no time I'll be able to experience the real world in 4K! Overall this was well over worth it and I do recommend anyone who is in need of lasix to come over to lasixplus! I had my free consultation about 2 weeks ago and just had my LASIK surgery 2 days ago. This is such a cliche thing to say, but I WISHED I had done this so much sooner. I was a little skeptical during my consultation because my prescription for glasses was so high. All the staff at LasikPlus took VERY good care of me. From the moment I checked in, to the moment we made an appointment for my actual surgery date, I had no doubts that I was in good hands. On the day of the surgery, they do ask you to give them 2-3 hours from start to finish as they are very busy. Once they get you checked in, the rest of the process goes by real quick. Dr. Eugene Smith was just absolutely FANTASTIC! He even allowed 2 of my family members to come into the operating room and watch/record/take pictures of my surgery! Cindy was explaining everything to my family as Dr. Smith was performing the surgery. I am not sure if other doctors allow this sort of thing, but I felt calmer knowing that family is literally by my side during the procedure. Cindy and Dr. Smith tell you exactly what you will experience and that is exactly what happened. After the procedure, there was lots of haziness and blurriness. After I got home, I slept for 4 hours as instructed and the haziness went away but the blurriness was still there. After a good night's rest, 24 hours later, I could not believe how good my vision was! I was able to read things that I couldn't read even with contacts! I will say this again...Dr. Smith and the rest of the staff at LasikPlus are ABSOLUTELY the best and I should have done this YEARS ago!!! read more

From the friendly greeting staff, online scheduleing, and the care that was given to make sure I knew all the options without pressure. Accidentally I was trying to call the office and reached the Dr Smith who didn't try to rush me off the call but answered my three questions. This experience has been amazing! I came in on Monday for my consultation. The office looks great, the staff was super nice. I love that the room where you get your lasik done is covered in glass walls and you can see what's going on. The Dr.'s were super nice as well and very informative. They explain the procedure step by step. They also have different specials going on through the month that really help out financially I came back Thursday for the treatment and Dr. Smith sits with you before the procedure to answer any questions you have and to reassure you about how the procedure goes. Came back the next day to for my post-op appt and I'm seeing 20/20 before the 24hrs are up! It is an amazing feeling! The staff was so sweet and informative from the consultation, to the procedure and follow-up!
