I went for my consultation at the Cumberland location and had my surgery date set there. Due to a work conflict, I had to reschedule my surgery date. The initial treatment went well and I was pleased with the results. I paid for the life-time management program. Now several years later when I feel I need a re-treatment the office/doctors are not so willing to continue their care. I have sent my re-treatment form four times to their office and after calling to request an update I was promised a call back within fourteen business days. I had my lasik surgery done on 3/23/18. My vision was extremely bad. About a -10, with a bad astigmatism. The staff at lasik plus changed my life. I have been wearing glasses since age 4. Besides my new vision, my next favorite thing about LASIKPlus is the staff! They were extremely professional, welcoming, accommodating and warm during every interaction. Ok. I got my lasik about a year and a half ago. I have to say I regret it very much right now. I was under the impression that this would be a lifetime or at least a minimum of 4 years of having 20/15 vision. My prescription was -1.00 and -1.25 with cyl of -1.00. I noticed that my vision was still a bit blurry even though during the post op visits they told me I had 20/15 vision, and a few month after the surgery, I went to the optometrist to check my prescription. It was at 0 with cyl -0.50. I thought that wasn't bad, I can deal with a little bit of blurriness as long as I don't have to wear glasses. This also came with the halo effect and dry eyes when I use the computer. I also get horrible migraine at night if I go out into the sun for more that 10 minutes or whenever the sun hits my eyes at peak hours. Fast forward to this year, I went to the optometrist again for my prescription and it has gone up to -0.25 and cyl -0.50. This has my blood boiling because I will have to get glasses because I am going to dental school and have to look at the board/computer for hours and do not want to strain my eyes. Yes I was ecstatic when I first got the surgery, but I did not know this would happen a year later. They failed to mention about waiting until my vision stabilized(I did not know about that concept until this year); they just wanted me to rush into this surgery instead of thinking of what would be best for me in the long run. I basically paid over 1k to be glasses free for a year. I will call the center and see what they can do, but I highly doubt anything will be done. I will update. 5/31/17 update: I called, and they said since it's past the one year "warranty," if I come in for an exam, I will be charged for the exam and for whatever procedure that would need to be done(if it is recommended). Looks like it will be back to having glasses for me. read more

The procedure was excellent and went smoothly. I'm seeing great now. My only complaint is the lengthy wait. They scheduled me for a 12:00 pm appt which I arrived on time for. But, the procedure didn't start till three hours later. It is bad business to have so many appointments stacked up that you can't make them on time. They should also have you do paperwork at home rather than having you wait till you're there as no one walks you through the paperwork anyway. You're doing it on your own either way. read more

I had Lasik eye surgery done two days ago at LasikPlus in Gwinnett and could not be happier. I don't normally post reviews, but would have been very grateful to find more info prior to my own surgery. I am extremely impressed with the overall operation run by LasikPlus. The center was very thorough, professional, and patient with all of my questions. Dr. Eugene Smith was absolutely wonderful and is apparently ranked among the top 1% of Lasik surgeons in the US, having performed over 70,000 surgeries. (You better believe I did lots of research before allowing someone to mess with my eye!) While all of the pre and post op exams are done by a different doctor, Dr. Smith still took the time to answer all of my questions and even gave out his personal cell phone number, which I found impressive. Another stand-out was that he recommended I only correct one eye as the other has a very mild prescription. I really valued that honesty as I was fully intending to do both eyes and they could have easily made another $2000 off me! The procedure itself was very quick and easy (a little strange/uncomfortable, but not painful). My vision is great (it gradually improves for several weeks after Lasik) and I am SO happy with my decision. The procedure is a bit pricey, but considering the yearly costs associated with contacts and glasses... it is WELL worth it. I went with the plan that offers free lifetime enhancements if needed, and I really can't think of anything better to invest in than my eyes. Lasikplus offers discounts through Eyemed and other providers. Also, you can take advantage of their no-interest payment plans and use your pre-tax flex spending account. Sorry this is lengthy but I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Dr. Smith and LasikPlus. I am recommending it to all my friends and family! Honestly, I am disappointed. I had the procedure done a year ago. The first 6 months were ok but then I started to feel a big discomfort, eye pain, dizziness, dryness, redness and foreign body sensation all the time. It really affects my day to day activities and I am tired and very worried. I saw many eye doctors and neurologists and they all say the flap has an irregularity on the edge and it may be the reason why I feel dizziness all the time. I guess it is not Dr Smith's fault but I would appreciate a bit of help from his part. I asked to see him but I saw another doctor instead. I am disappointed and everyday I am telling myself I shouldn't have done it. I am being very honest st here and I don't want to say it is lasik plus fault. From the beginning, my husband was lied to and jerked around. First and foremost, my husband has no major eye issues. He needs reading glasses when looking at his phone or a book. He has never had prescription glasses or contacts. We made an appointment for a consult that was, without notice, changed to a ZOOM virtual consultation. We were told during the virtual consult he could have surgery the same day as the "exam". Ok so we go to the Atlanta office for the exam a week later. Get there and THEN they say we would have to travel over to Duluth for the actual procedure once the exam was over and pricing was set. The exam/in person consult took over 2 hours. We were told to "hurry" over to the Duluth office and arrived at 2:05PM. After 3.5 hours, he had yet to be called for payment which is the step before surgery. Once you make the payment, you are considered "checked in". So after 5.5 hours, not including driving time, and he is still waiting for his mono-vision (ONE EYE) surgery. So as I sit here typing this, it is now 6:30 PM. No one except the patient is allowed in the office due to Covid so the driver must wait outside. Now, to the misleading pricing GIMMICK. Money isn't the issue but I'm sure a lot of people would be shocked at the price we were given. They wanted $2395 BEFORE prescriptions, tax, etcetera for ONE EYE! He basically had to make them honor their promo discount from their website of $500 off per eye but still paid $2099.74 cash out of pocket. Keep in mind this is for someone who didn't wear glasses or contacts, just needed some fine tuning for reading and it's for ONE EYE! My question is who could possibly qualify for the $250 per eye rate if he didn't? What the heck would the cost be if he really had bad vision? Clearly, in the website it says the most they charge per eye is $2400. I would highly suggest checking out other places that offer Lasik. This has been a terrible experience. They are just greedy and overbook their appointments to make more money. Now I wait and hope the surgery works because I definitely don't want to deal with this business ever again. I'll have to update with what time he actually gets done and how his surgery worked since it's now close to 7:00 PM and he's still inside! read more

Would definitely not recommend this facility. I had Lasik surgery about six months ago and my visions has already completely deteriorated. I started experiencing blurriness and haziness in my vision a few weeks ago and when I reached out to the center they told me to visit my local eye doctor for an exam. Considering I paid about $3500 for this surgery you would think that follow up eye exam would be included. This sadly was not the case. When I visited my local eye doctor and paid $100 out of pocket, he told me that my astigmatism had completely clouded the vision in my left eye and partially on my right eye as well. He stated that this was not normal under any circumstance and that I should "raise cane" at the facility in which I had the surgery done. Thoroughly shaken up after hearing this I then proceeded to contact the facility. I was contacted to their call center and was met with zero help nor solution from their call center workers, Michelle and Suzan. They flippantly told me that I would need to wait at least 14 business days for a doctor to reach out. 14 business days to even be seen at the place that completely messed up my vision. !4 days of haziness and blurriness that 100% has affected my daily life negatively. I understand that most locations are conducting limited business due to COVID-19 but this is just unacceptable. This place is a scam save your money and time and go elsewhere! read more

Wow! Where do I start? This was such a life changing surgery for me! I get emotional just thinking about how I can see without glasses now. From the day of the FREE consultation, everyone made me feel great and reassured me that everything would be fine. I get bad anxiety when it comes to surgery and everyone was so understanding and stated my feelings were normal. The entire process was fast. During the actual procedure, they talk you through everything. They numb you so u don't feel pain however you do feel the pressure. I also smelled the laser. They reapply the numbing drops to ensure it doesn't wear off. I notice my vision changed immediately. I got home and slept the rest of the night. The day was my 1 day post op. MAJOR improvement!
