Had an appoint to pre screen for Lasik Surgery. The conversation was confusing and the analogies were used in the sales process were mis-leading. The office was very chaotic and the booming sound of the Center Director Phoenix Matket is not professional. This organization is a sales organization and I felt pressured with the use of analogies and medical specific jargon that is not easy to understand. I very much felt pressured by the more expensive option. When I question the results for the two options I was told by their Optometrist That he would not preform the less expensive option on me because He said; "I would not get the results and would be unhappy with the procedure". Question; why offer something as an option if the Doctor would refuse to perform that surgery. Additionally, I was offered "Free Enhancements" and it was written on my quote and yet it did not mention "Free Enhancements" in the disclosures, it seemed as if it were written to confuse and diminish the promise. I was very hesitant and uncomfortable. I was told that the surgeon would call me that evening, he did not. I followed up with them the next day and told them I wanted to do the surgery the next day, The Optometrist called me immediately, we discussed the options and it was still somewhat unclear to me. What was clear to me is that fact that he would not do the least expensive option period. After much thought I hesitantly decided to proceed. I scheduled an appointment and came to their office. I was very nervous and frankly not comfortable with the environment. Their operating room is like a massive fish tank and everyone in the clinic can see you and knows what you are doing. The loud lady (Center Director Phoenix Market) was not discrete and when I mentioned HIPA Laws they told me that HIPA Laws don't apply to elective surgeries. Wow!! My concerns were discussed openly in front of a room of roughly 8 patients. Needless to say not only was I uncomfortable, had anxiety, and now embarrassed. This was what made me get my money back and walk out of their clinic; I was asked to come into the Surgical room and the double checked my eyes and then Dr. Wayment put in my eyes eye numbing eye drops. Then I was told that I needed to go through the informed consent forms and sign. I tried to read thru the documents and sign again after they put eye numbing eye drops in my eyes. I finished the documents and then they came back to me and gave me a tri-fold consent form and said I needed to fill that out too. At that point I asked for my money back and when I complained about the lack of privacy I was told that HIPA laws did not apply to elective surgeries. The problem is this; 1. There is no non-bias information available online regarding LASIK procedures. 2. Pressure sales. 3. Lack of privacy. 4. Lack of any discretion. 5. Uncomfortable chaotic office. I asked for my money back and walked out the door. Then I read this on the internet about LASIK Plus; LASIKPlus was not known for its attention to quality. It received Warning Letters from the FDA concerning violations of federal regulations which govern the proper use of its surgical lasers. It reports more than $6,600,000 in reserves to cover its patients' medical malpractice claims. That is, at an average price of $3,000 per patient having LASIK surgery on both eyes, it needs 2,200 new patients just to cover the costs of its prior blunders. I'm grateful for LasikPlus and the staff here. The staff was friendly and personable - the techs, the optometrist, and the doctor. They put me at ease and helped me when my nerves kicked into overdrive and I...kind of passed out after the procedure. Yep, I was that customer. The experience, however, was positive and painless. The process of getting your eyelids to stay open was uncomfortable and awkward, and I think the reason my nerves tipped over the edge was because I didn't know what the tools looked like beforehand or what was going to be done with them. Understandably, they probably don't go into that much detail because they don't want to unnecessarily frighten their customers. The machines, the entire operating room, is viewable through glass walls, but the smaller tools were what had made me nervous. In retrospect...I would've asked to see what was going to be used. And I would've opted for the valium they had offered me a week prior to my appointment. read more

I cannot speak highly enough on my experience and surgery that was performed by Dr.Perry and his team at LasikPlus. I know this is a long review but please read on as every aspect is important when making a decision on where to have your lasik done! I must admit that before my consultation, I was scared about the procedure, the pain and recovery as well as the price tag. I was happy to learn that at LasikPlus they are 100% blade-less which is important for both SAFETY and COMFORT. The all inclusive price (I'm talking consultation, surgery, eye drops, and follow up exams) came out to be what I would have spent on optometry exams, contacts and glasses in just 3 years- plus they offer payment plans to keep it affordable for everyone. For a lifetime of good vision, and thankfully I was a candidate, it was a no brainer! I had my consultation Monday and my surgery was quickly scheduled for Thursday. The surgery itself lasted probably 10 minutes and there was a bit of discomfort but 0 pain. Not to mention, Dr. Perry is hilarious and had me laughing during the whole thing. Did I mention Dr.Perry has completed over 32,000 successful procedures? I felt so comfortable knowing I was in his hands and that he had a ton of practice before working his magic on my eyes! He and his team even aired my surgery on Facebook live and I was able to say hi to my mom who was watching from the east coast to which I exited to a text saying "That was so cool but that's it?!?! That's all he had to do??!". I'm sure he's like this with everyone (as everyone I had seen walk out of the OR had a smile on their face) but he made it such a personal experience for me- like I had known him for years. You're supposed to have a rough 4-5 hours following the procedure but I took a Tylenol, benedryl and a nap and when I woke up, I was in tears because I had no pain (but a little redness from the suction) and could see for the first time on my own in 20 years. PAIN EXPERIENCE!! I have struggled with poor vision for the majority of my life. I started wearing glasses around the age of 7 and a month short of turning 21 I decided to make a consult for LASIK. My consultation was a quick appointment.. the office does a vision test on 3 different machines by 2 people in order to get the correct prescription you use. I scheduled my surgery for a week later. When I arrived, my eyes were checked and I waited for another 1.5 hours until my surgery because there were plenty of other patients before me. I was not pleased with the waiting time especially because these are appointments. The procedure takes around 20 minutes but it also depends on your prescription. Mine was a -4.50 and -4.75. I was not consulted by Dr. Perry on what to expect, but he did ask if I had questions. I was expecting for someone to give me instruction on the eye drops and I received absolutely none. When I left I had immediate pain and it was excruciating!!!!! I could not stand any kind of light. They said to go home and take a nap because that will help with the discomfort. Well, this was more than just "discomfort"... it was impossible to try to take a nap as I was in terrible pain that brought me to tears. I took Tylenol to help the pain and it didn't really help. It's a horrific burning pain that I was totally unaware of expecting and I could not open my eyes without uncontrollable tears coming out. I even had my aunt get ahold of Dr. Perry because I truly did not know what to do for myself. He said to use the eye drops and gave me instruction. That would have been a lot more helpful prior to the surgery. After another few hours I finally had some relief and in the morning woke up with extremely swollen eyes. My vision was still blurry and had a little bit of that "sand in my eyes" feeling but it wasn't bad. I thought it was important to pass on my experience so no one is fooled by this being an easy surgery.. it too may be different for everyone. Now to the vision part of it- my eye sight is great, I can see very well but I do have complications with my right eye. I have a hard time seeing sharply and I also see blurry sometimes. The total cost was $3000. My three month follow up is in 2 weeks- so this is a late review. I wanted to see what my vision was going to be like after healing time has passed. My surgery was June 22 and my 3 month follow up is October 1. I gave three stars due to the poor patient care and consult given. I could have been informed a lot better by this team. However, the ladies who do the vision exams on consultation day were awesome! Good luck to anyone getting lasik done! read more

First they try to charge you the highest price possible when you have a minimal correction like I did. Which one of my eyes qualified for the cheaper lasik machine of $200 an eye since my lasik was minimal for distance!! But you have to ask for it and know what they are doing and be a sales person. Like they are trying to make throw most amount of money!! Second, be cafeful if they are going to sell you regardless of your eye conditions. I told them contact lenses did not work for me and were stuck to my eyes and blurry and why I'm going with lasik. It's in the contract you sign. Could cause some blurry ness for a cause to use drops and oitments but didn't say after 10 months later it would be the same and my eyes with monovision is worse off then before my surgery!! Don't go to a fly by night busy like this. That is like a swap meet of people. It cost me over $1000 after my surgery in medications, glasses, and over the counter drops, oitments and vitamins. They don't care. I even have a guarantee on my monovision eye which really means nothing. Dr Perry is very nice and follow up but the Drs prior did not listen to me about my contacts being blurry and sticking to my eyes and should have been a sign as me not being a good candidate for lasik since these are symptoms of dry eye syndrome and never warned me! read more

Good results but rough experience with on time appointments. Every appointment I had was over 30 minutes late. The scheduled rechecked the day after had several people scheduled at the same 8am time slot. Follow up appointment a month later I had to leave as I had not been seen or spoken to in over 30 minutes. Went to this place on a reference and it is a 45 minute drive. To justify my two star a little more my appointments were at 8am and 8:45am. To be that late when you open at 8am just shows they over schedule. read more

I wish I had done it sooner....everyone says it and that's because it's so true. I am two months out from my procedure and couldn't be happier :) love the staff, so patient and friendly! Friendly goes a long way with me. Also very clean and they have very good sterile technique in the operating suite, for a germ-a-phobe that is a big deal. I highly recommend lasik plus and specifically dr.perry. I will forewarn that most people say immediately after you sit up you will be able to see better well that's the only thing I disagree with... my eyes were too watery and upset and everything still seemed a little blurry to me, but later that night (approximately 4 hours post op) I could see. :) so do not worry if right away things are not crisp clear yet. And I had one eye that healed a little sooner then the other which is why I waited to do my review. Overall just extremely grateful for my new contact/glasses free lifestyle. I had a consult here last week and will not be going back. I didn't even get to meet the doctor who would be performing Lasik on me! Seems weird to me that you would trust someone with this type of procedure and not even be introduced to them beforehand. They offered me an additional $300-$500 off just to schedule the procedure that week! I saw Dr. Perry for a chalazion earlier this year and was stunned and relieved to learn how reasonable his fees were compared to the office I had been going to. I had a great experience at LasikPlus! The entire staff was extremely friendly and professional. Dr. Perry called me the night before my procedure just to check in and see if I had any questions. The procedure itself is trippy b/c they're shooting freaking laser beams in your eye (or something more scientific) but it is completely painless. Sue, who works at the front desk, helped me organize my interest free payment plan with CareCredit. She even found a way to help me get my post-surgery eye drop medication when the pharmacy incorrectly filled my script. Sue went above and beyond! I am eternally grateful for her. The Staff: The entire staff at the Scottsdale location is so friendly. Sue knows everybody by name and greets them with a smile. Follow up visits with Dr. Wayment and Dr. Ho are great. I never wait long in the waiting room and the actual appointment takes less than 20 minutes. The Surgery and Results: Due the dimensions of my eye, I was a candidate for both Lasik and PRK. Dr. Perry informed me about the pros and cons of each and let me choose which procedure I would prefer to receive. The actual Lasik surgery took less than 15 minutes. Dr. Perry is very skilled and talks you through the entire procedure. He is conservative in his surgical approach but always gets great results. I have needed corrective eye wear since I was 4 years old. My astigmatism was so bad that basically it changed my far sighted vision to near sighted. After the Lasik surgery, my vision is now 20/15!!! I am so happy with the results! I would highly recommend LasikPlus at Scottsdale to anyone. read more
