He was notified but chose not to come to the ER. There was no other ophthalmologist available so i was unable to receive the treatment I needed, and as a result I am now blind in one eye. I was in ICU for two days and the hospital did not attempt to find another ophthalmologist. No physician on staff was qualified to dilate my eye to asses for a retinal artery occlusion or a detached retina, I was visiting from another state and had to make an Emegency flight home to see my ophthalmologist but, unfortunately , the window of time for appropriate treatment had passed.

And for the complaints on here about wait times... well I would rather wait for a good doctor than be shuffled through like an assembly line just to get in and out quickly.

A lot of people came after I arrived and one by one they were called in. I was called inside at 11:15 am, 35 minutes after my appointment time. Was taken to exam room, told to sit on the uncomfortable exam room chair. I waited there until 11:50 am for Dr. Plotnik to make his appearance!! An hour and 10 minutes after my appointment time. He saw me literally for 5 minutes in a hurry! I had another appointment at noon which I completely missed. What bothered me the most was the fact that, not the front desk. Not Dr. Plotnik, not the check out people had the courtesy to apologize for the 1 hour and 10 minutes delay, like nothing has happened and this is charity work, and this delay is NORMAL! It is NORMAL! This is unacceptable. I don't understand how they can do this all the time and no action is taken to correct this unpleasant experience for their customers. I really don't recommend this practice to anyone.

During a recent visit, he recommended updating my husband's glasses, and we were referred to Dr. Jayme Windsor. After receiving the new prescription, we paid $484 (with insurance) for glasses that turned out to be unusable. My husband cannot see clearly with them and actually sees much better with his old glasses. At the follow-up appointment, we explained the issue but were told, "this is the best we can do." No meaningful solution was offered, and we were later given the same prescription as the old glasses. We were also informed that no refund is possible. As retirees on a fixed income, this is a significant loss for us. The only positive part of this experience was Alicia in the optical department, who truly tried to help and was very professional. Dr. Perry pointed out a retina ripple and the start of macular degeneration in my left eye which was not detected by another ophthalmologist had seen before being referred to Dr. Perry for a second opinion. I was very happy with the care and grateful for their expertise and the follow-up call from Dr. Perry himself after surgery plus the weekly follow ups. I am still healing and thankful that I do not need to wear glasses anymore. Other than blue light glasses, which I choose to do when using my computer and cell phone.
