I have yet to find a better cheesesteak in the Orlando area, than here. Sure, you can go to the big chain places and get a semi decent sub. It won't have nearly the amount of meat, that you'll get, when you come here. The bread is super fresh, the steak is tender and the cheese is just the right amount to hold it all together. Although, you'll probably need a fork to eat all the meat, that will fall out of the bun, because it's so overflowing. They have several locations and provide quite a bit of take-out, especially now, due to this so called "pandemic", but it's definitely worth the drive and wait. I had been craving this place for soooooo long while I was pregnant because it used to be so amazing....well we couldn't have been more disappointed! It was WAY overpriced and they didn't have half the items on the menu. I actually didn't even finish my sandwich because it tasted so bland, and was very soggy even though we ate it there. The staff seemed like we were bothering them for just being there. The decorations are still the same from the few years ago that we were there, and I don't think they've been cleaned since then either. I was quite disappointed. I've visited LaSpadas in Fort Lauderdale dozens of times and this location is obviously run/managed differently. Menu is kinda the same but ingredients are different in some subs. Bread was stale and I subs didn't come out as I ordered them. Additionally I wasn't to keen on one of the guys smoking a cigarette right out front only to come in and start preparing food without washing his hands. Tables were dirty. Overall it felt rundown and kinda sketchy. I'll stick to LaSpadas in South Florida. Won't go back to this location. read more

Oh...my....GOD!!! I might have to break up with the Publix Deli. This establishment is so close to my residence...why haven't I been here before? WHY?? Walked in around 4PM on a weekday and ordered with no waiting. Five minutes later and I'm good to go. This "small" 10" grilled ham and cheese with onions, mushrooms and bacon is huge! Huge subs but the taste and quality fell off big time. I wish I was close enough to get my money back. I have heard amazing things about this place so I was so excited to go! I was severally disappointed, I ordered the philly, it was dry and had zero flavor. My husband ordered the cheeseburger sub, def stay clear from this, yes they are known for over stuffed but this was thrown on the sub roll, the meat has zero flavor and the burger was huge you couldn't even eat it on a sub roll you needed a fork. I finally made it to LaSpada's and I can't believe it took me so long. I love a good Philly cheesesteak and after visiting Philly recently, I didn't think I would find something so authentic. There are no fancy bells and whistles when you walk in. A momma/poppa shop that looks likes nothing has changed since they opened. These are the kinds places I like. The focus is all in the food. I went with a 12 in cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions and an order of curly fries. Before I knew it, my order was ready. The first thing I thought was wow this is a big sandwich! Definitely worth the price! My sandwich was incredible! I honestly was surprised by how good it was. It was loaded with meat, cheese, and ooey gooey goodness. No lie, I was able to make 3 meals out of my cheesesteak! The curly fries were good too. Nothing super special about them, but went well with a side of wiz. Why? Why did I go back and try a second time? Because I was in the area and wanted a cheesesteak. I live about an hour southeast of here but was close by today so I gave it a second chance. Wasn't thrilled with the first experience but it's been at least a year to a year and a half. Disclaimer: I was born and raised just outside West Philly, so I grew up on Cheesesteaks. The only thing Philly in here is the decorations on the wall. The sandwich damn sure don't taste like it. They should also be scolded and/or arraigned for false advertisement. Anybody from Philly will tell you one of the most important ingredients (most people will say THE most important, but in my opinion Whiz is slightly more important) is the bread. Philly cheesesteaks come on Amoroso rolls. These people even have a sign posted stating that!!!! So you would think "great, they have Amoroso rolls!" Wrong!!! They serve Cusano's rolls. NOT the same. Not horrible bread, but far from an Amoroso roll. Next thing is they couldn't get anything right the whole time I was there. The woman at the cash register tries handing me a second cup with my lunch special 10 seconds after she handed me the first one. As I'm placing my order I hear about a delivery that they screwed up on and didn't bring the drinks or salad dressing. Then I get my sandwich and get home and no sweet peppers like I ordered! Come on, people I was really looking forward to those sweet peppers because almost nowhere down here carries them. Check your order before leaving. Make them unwrap your sandwich and inspect it or you might be screwed like I was. Save yourself the trouble, headache, money, and time. Go somewhere that actually sells real Philly Cheesesteaks on real Amoroso rolls and tastes authentic. Here's the two best I've had in the Orlando area: 1) Brianto's Best Philly cheesesteak in Orlando. Been here for 2 and a half years now and this is the clear winner. 2) Philly's Best They have a food truck and used to have a restaurant I think off of Hiawassee Rd. With tons of pictures of Philly as well as celebrity photos and autographs on the wall, this place is a throwback to the old sub shops I remember visiting as a kid when visiting family up north. I was sooo eager to check out this place and thank goodness for Yelp because I would have never found the location on my own. It's in a strip mall which doesn't look like much on the outside but when you walk through the door, you see the classic look of an order-it-yourself and pick-it-up-from-the-counter-yourself look as you walk in. Tables and chairs all of which can be moved in case you're with a larger group and not to mention, a filled place, wall-to-wall with people and standing room only. (Must have been a busy day??) But the smell was classic. Everything you could imagine smelling from a flat top. The fragrance of onions, beef, shrooms and peppers luring your nose to the counter. I loved seeing the menu hang above and as we waited, we creepily glanced through other peoples plates to see who scored the better cheese-steak. (What can I say, I have no shame casing out what you have on your plate!!) :P Finally, we got our food and.....wooops!! Did I just dive into my sandwich without taking a pic of it first?!? Shame on me!!! BUT, I couldn't help it!! It looked soooo good piled high with the ribbons of meat piled high atop the pillowy rolls. While I didn't get as much cheese as I wanted, this was a definite solid place to add to the list. I'll order extra cheese next time.....and there WILL be a next time very soon. Thanks to all my Yelp peeps, I finally checked this place out-and I liked it! It's kind of a mess. Fries smooshed into the floor, dirty tables that are haphazardly arranged, hotter than hades, you'll smell like grease when you leave, if you wear glasses they will be spattered with grease when you leave, it's noisy from all the fans they have trying in vain to cool the place down. All of that mess adds character to this humble establishment. This is Cheese steak heaven. Had a combo that included a regular cheese steak (steak, onions and American cheese), french fries and a drink for about $8.. It was as much of a steal as it was delicious. They always have specials listed on the board and coupons on their website, making already affordable food even easier on the wallet. Holy Cheesy Beefy Yuminess Batman. So honestly the place is a little dirty and grimy looking but who cares. The sandwiches are just straight ridiculous. I had a Philly cheese-steak and my buddy had a ham and cheese (boring.) My Philly was... are you ready because I'm only going to say this once ...THE BEST PHILLY I HAVE EVER HAD. Not exaggerating. Big sub with an insane amount of meat topped with cheese, peppers, onions, and of course jalapenos. The portion size is just...aw. I could only eat half of the thing. The other half got microwaved for dinner and was still amazing after being given radioactive cancer. Now for the ham and cheese. I didn't try it because pig is for Heathens, and some Christians. Located just off of Lee road off of the I-4 exit in a strip mall/plaza, La Spada is a small hole in the wall type place to go for great cheesesteaks. Inside, the place is small and a little run down, but I suppose a little TLC would do the place good. I ordered the 7" philly cheese steak which came on a delicious amoroso bun. I asked for provolone cheese as well to stay healthy. The cheesesteak is really good, the melted cheese and the steak meat were fresh and served hot, maybe too piping hot. I have had lunch there several times. I took my 81 year old dad there for lunch today. What a treat. He kept saying how big his sub was. I told him his was a small. There is no such thing as a small sub here. The sizes should be big, bigger and biggest. LaSpada's never disappoints. I gave it 4 stars, because it could be a little cleaner.
