Paid for a large fry 10$ and open this up...like how is that a large fry it wasn't even half full. And the Philly...I ordered what I always order but this time for whatever reason the so many sweet hot peppers in the sub it was not edible. Like I don't know wtf goes. Through someone's mind to put half a jar of peppers on a sub but it really is run by highscool kids on the weekday and they're just not good enough and care so little about customers. You have to order fries separately and the cheesesteaks are a bit pricy but comparable to other places. The restaurant is small with only a few tables indoors and maybe two tables outdoors. As a follow up to my below review. I called these guys and I spoke to I believe his name is Ethan. He's the manager onsite. He was amazing with his customer service skills he owned up to it. He really is an amazing guy. We will obviously continue ordering from here as we always do. We love to get our cheesesteaks from South Philly, and generally they're amazing. Not sure who was making this sandwich today on July 31st at 7:20p. My husband requested a cheese steak with lettuce, tomato garlic aoli jalapeños hot, red peppers, and As a follow up to my below review Swiss cheese, and there is no cheese in it. We drove from Maitland to try this place out. It is nestled in beautiful Avalon Park, next to the YMCA and across from a lovely lake. I ordered The Sexy with melted white cheddar! I love that they have a sauce bar to choose whatever you want on your cheesesteaks! The fries was yummy. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The positive? The cheesesteak was good. The not so positive? I paid $22+ for a cheesesteak with extra cheese and a drink... and the cheesesteak barely had any meat or cheese on it. I was okay with the lack of meat but I paid extra for cheese. When I asked about it, I was told "It's in there. We mix it in." I'm not exaggerating when I say... there was barely any cheese on the sandwich. In comparison, my friend got a 6 inch sub and had nearly double the meat. So, was it good? Yes. Worth a return visit? The staff is always friendly, the food is always made fresh, and it's quite delicious, even from someone from the opposite side of Pennsylvania. Their now $8.49 lunch special includes a 6" sandwich (including their cheesesteaks), fries (or chips), and a drink. It's a great deal in comparison to other lunch special around Avalon Park. They have other specials as well (i.e. 2 for 1 beers) and may even have some dinner specials that I'll have to check in to. I was a vegetarian for many years but last year I started to eat red meats, pork and chicken. I eat meats here and there, my body calls for it. I don't really like red meat though, but every once in a while I remember my years as a carnivore and I like to revisit those flavors. One such unique dish that was lingering in my mind was a Philly Cheesesteak. I have even traveled to Philly to try the original ones, and they are amazing. South Florida has an amazing Cheesesteak culture, here in Orlando, well, we got South Philly Steaks. This place is as close as the real deal as it gets. We tried different variations and they were all good, but the favorite was the Miami Heat. No lie! If you order it, tell them to go light on the jalapeños because you'll get burned. Lunch took every bit of fifteen minutes but at least everything was hot and fresh. Plenty of well seasoned, hot dropped fries. Good meat to bread ratio on the Philly. Otherwise, only small misgivings. Had trouble ordering my usual Philly configuration but that's kiosk ordering for you. I ordered the combo, which came with mozzarella sticks, but those were subpar as well. All of this cost $40, and honestly, I would've had a much better meal at Charlie's for less. WOW, where do I begin this place is Amazing. I decided to visit my friend and he ordered from this spot that left me stunned with great valor on my pallet. It was so good before driving back home I decided to have it again and it was even better the next day. I ordered cheeseburger bacon rolls with one of their many dipping sauces as a quick appetizer bite. This was the best roll I've ever tasted. It literally tastes like I was eating a bacon cheeseburger without having the actual burger present. Then I indulged in one of their cheesesteaks and just like the night before it was fantastically put together. Can I give this place 10 stars! Amazing food. I love the convenience of the parking when you pull up. Relaxing environment and it smells so good as soon as you walk in. I will honestly say that photos here on Yelp do not do justice to how good these sandwiches are so please don't go based on that. I almost did and would have missed out on a delicious Sunday meal with my family. We ordered their lunch special which was a 6in. steak sub with fries (substituted one order to have onion rings) and a drink and were very happy with our orders. Both sandwiches had "sexy sauce" on them, which was just melted white American cheese, but it was delicious. The onion rings were skinny, tasty and came with a zesty cream sauce and the fries were nicely seasoned and crisp. Overall the location doesn't look the most exciting and appealing, but is definitely worth the experience. Also, I love businesses that offer lunch specials even on the weekends not just M-F. Ordered 5.00 bacon burgers tonight for burger night and man... consistency issues. I ordered a burger with everything on it and bun on the side. What we picked up was a baconless, toppingless burger. They gave his to me and mine to him. This is a problem way too far often though. Like 1 in 5 visits we have a consistency/order issue. Avalon Park possesses a cheesesteak place that does an admirable job at bringing a taste of Philly to this neighborhood in East Orlando. First, they use Amoroso rolls, the brand of roll that is used by some of the finest cheesesteak places in Philadelphia. A great touch. They also use the right steak, shaved ribeye. I ordered a cheesesteak with extra meat, two kinds of cheese, lettuce, onions (both raw and fried), cherry peppers, and ketchup and the sandwich as always satiated my appetite. Let me also add that I did live in Philadelphia for awhile and I am quite particular about my cheesesteaks. While these would not worry the big boys of the Philadelphia cheesesteak scene, it is a quick fix here in Orlando until I can get up to the City of Brotherly Love for a tour of some of my favorite stops. read more

I ordered pickup and it should've been ready when I planned to arrive, however I had to wait an additional 20 minutes before it was done. I enjoy having South Philly Steaks in our Avalon area. Their food is fairly tasty and the kids meals are well worth the money. Where else do you get the main food, fries and a full size drink for less than $6. My kids love the food and they enjoy getting to eat there. We've never ordered a whole sub from them, as the half sub can feed a person comfortably. We've had different kinds of subs there, burgers and the chicken bites. I saw they had a lunch special on M-F where you get any 1/2 sub, fries, and a drink for $6.99 + tax. However, we knew we weren't gonna be full off half subs so we both just decided to order a 12 inch combo which came with fries and a drink for $13.74 + tax. I customized "The Sexy" and added mushrooms, mayo, and banana peppers while my boyfriend got "The Sexy" as is. All in all, it was a bit pricey and satisfied my craving, however the bread itself was a bit too overwhelmingly thick for my liking. The fries could have been a bit more crunchy but otherwise good. So full disclosure, I was a fan at their old location by UCF. There are some great places to get a cheese steak but I had to hunt down their new spot because I had a craving.
