I was finally able to make a visit to this area in Burke. There are a few eateries in this shopping center such as Tour Les Jour, Sakura Grill, Cedar Cafe, ànd Anita's. As you walked in, the restaurant is clean, modern look and atmosphere is comfortable. I ordered 4 items: 1) Samosa Chaat 2) Butter Chicken Pasta 3) Tikka Masala Paneer 4) Garlic Naan. Every single item that arrived to the table was on point and delicious even the fluffy rice. But the highlight of my trip was the samosa chaat ànd garlic naan. First the samosa chaat, this is a must get item. The complexity of this dish had so many components but yet made each bite salivating and amazingly delicious. The garlic naan was light, airy and surprisingly topped with fresh chunks of garlic. I had excellent service by my server named Praveen, he was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I will definitely make another visit to try other items on their menu.

Inside, this place looks elevated! I like the touch of the dimmable lights on each table. I ordered the chicken biryani and it did not disappoint. I've had biryani where I only got 4 pieces of meat, but this was not the case at Lassan, luckily. The medium spice level was spicer than I expected, so be forewarned! The portion was generous, I had leftovers to take home- which is never a bad thing. I found the biryani too oily, but the dish was still a flavor bomb.

Pros: Kind service Unique light fixtures and pictures on the wall Dim lighting (sets a good mood) Vegetarian Pakora Butter Chicken (not the best I have had but still good) Garlic Naan (very good garlic flavor) Cons: Tables are a little close together. Would love a little more space between them.

Lovely hidden gem in the middle of Burke. The menu has so much to choose from that it's hard to decide what to eat! Our server, Alex, provided excellent recommendations and made us feel truly special. My chicken korma was fantastic, and my wife's butter chicken was the best she's ever had. The momo was delicious as well, and the saffron pistachio ice was incredible! We also loved the interior design - it's definitely not what you'd expect from a shopping center restaurant. Loved it all!

Wow, I'm surprised i haven't reviewed Lassan yet. I have been there a few times since last discovering this place in October. Lassan has some best butter chicken! It's a basic dish but not all places get it right. Lassan definitely does it right! Another favorite here is the Lamb Shahi Korma--it's heavenly, especially if you get it kind of spicy. Lassan also has great cocktails which is pretty rare for indian restaurants in Virginia. I will continue to go here for sure!

BEST BUTTER CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD - and I've had a lot! Not only the butter chicken was amazing, it was really everything I had. The masala nachos were good but I preferred my friends samosa chaat and the chili chicken momos. The chicken korma was also amazing. And the Punjabi curry. The only things I didn't love were the lamb (I don't like lamb) and the paneer (texture not my favorite, first time trying). Great interior very fancy and music not too loud. Service super friendly - Alish was awesome and took care of us. I can't wait to come back!

I dined here the other night with visiting family and was glad I finally did! The inside decor is lovely it's soft lighting. Service was as expected. I had the Punjabi chicken and my dining companion had the chicken korma. We shared garlic naan. Portions were large and everything was well-flavored and not overly salted. I'd definitely return to dine again.

Lassan is an Indian/Nepalese restaurant, located in the Rolling Valley plaza. We had read some high reviews on this place, so we were excited to try them out for dinner. We ordered: +the Butter Chicken - chicken marinated with spices and yogurt, baked in a tandoor oven, and cooked with a tomato-based sauce +the Shahi Korma - choice of roasted chicken or marinated lamb (we opted for the chicken), cooked in a coconut cashew sauce with saffron +garlic naan +aloo naan Unfortunately, everything was SALTY. I do love my salt, but either there was a mistake in terms of the seasoning, or the kitchen staff here are just heavy-handed with this. It was to the point that the items were inedible, as it was super unpleasant. The meats were just okay, but they were somewhat dried out, even in the sauces. The naans were forgettable, as they could have been more fresh and have more flavor; the aloo version was also inedible, as the spiced potato filling was salty. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, and the staff were friendly; note that you may have to repeat yourself several times of your order(s), as there is somewhat of a language barrier. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but, unfortunately, this was such a negative experience. We wouldn't return. +extremely salty food +avoid the naan +located in Rolling Valley plaza

Praveen was nice and helpful. My friend and I had a great lunch. I like that their lunch special lets you have more than one thing. Both the dal and saag are well spiced. The pickled mixed vegetables are good way to add extra salt if you want it. This is a modern Indian restaurant. It does get busy, so try to make reservations. But for walk ins you may have to wait. I loved the mango lassi colada. It was the right consistency and sweet for refreshing day. The tandoori lamb chops came out sizzling hot. The masala nachos was so good with the different sauce they use with the chicken. My favorite was the butter chicken of how creamy and flavorful it is. The lamb and goat biryani were highlight to dish to eat. They also gave us different naans to try which I liked the garlic one. Of course get the chai to complete it!

You'll get a code via email, but you still have to redeem that code IN the restaurant. I was expecting a electronic gift card. And since the restaurant is geared towards food delivery services and take out, when you redeem the gift card in the restaurant and order there it takes them FOREVER to get you your food. In my case it took more than half and hour from the time I ordered until I got my food; so I had to burn all that time sitting around in the restaurant, while other take out orders and delivery services got their food more quickly. The restaurant itself is clean, if a little dated.

On our first visit, they were extremely busy and we didn't have a reservation, but the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating while we waited for a table. Megha, in particular, was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, she made us feel truly at home. She consistently checked on us, made sure everything was perfect, and provided some of the best service we've experienced. Since that first visit, we've already been back two more times -- twice for dinner and once for their Sunday brunch. Every single visit has been exceptional. The service is always outstanding, and the food never disappoints. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any dish on the menu, and their brunch is phenomenal. I do have to mention the Butter Chicken -- it's easily one of the best I've ever had. The garlic naan and rosemary naan are also incredible and such a unique touch. What makes this place even more special is the consistency and hospitality. Megha always greets us warmly, remembers us by both face and name, and genuinely makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. The space is beautiful and feels much more upscale than the prices would suggest. I was honestly shocked by how reasonable everything was. The Bollywood music added to the atmosphere and made the whole experience feel even more fun. The restaurant was fairly busy when we visited, so I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the service was. We ordered the chili garlic noodles, ragda pattice (for the full Mumbai street food experience), date naan, and the paneer lababdar that was recommended by the staff. Every single dish was flavorful and delicious. The paneer lababdar was especially good, and the date naan was a pleasant surprise. The bathrooms were clean, parking was easy, and overall the experience was very comfortable. As for the service, the staff were perfectly polite and efficient, though not particularly warm or engaging. Nothing negative at all--just not the type of place where the staff goes out of their way to chat. That said, with food this good and a restaurant this busy, it hardly affected the experience. Overall, the food was absolutely the star of the show. If you're looking for flavorful Indian food in the area, Mumbai Central is definitely worth a visit.

Now, my husband and I have moved away, as have our adult daughters and their families. Upon returning for a wedding in Vienna, VA, we HAD TO return to Jaipur for their Saturday lunch buffet. We made reservations for our large party -- 9 adults and 3 babies under the age of 3 months. The table was ready for us -- and nicely set -- but it was difficult for a large party to maneuver to the buffet given the bench seating. One of the servers thoughtfully offered high chairs for the babies, but all three were still too small to sit independently. As before, the servers were attentive -- refilling our water glasses, bringing fresh naan to the tables, and clearing away used plates. As before, the 'quality' of the food preparation was excellent. One could always depend upon Jaipur for richly-flavored appetizers, meat and vegetable entrees, and desserts. We especially enjoyed the lamb curry, the lentil daal, cold garbanzo bean salad, and the chili shrimp. That said, we were a bit disappointed in the 'selection' of dishes on the buffet this time. The main issue was that three of the dishes on the buffet tasted as if they were in the same sauce -- a butter chicken; cauliflower in a butter sauce curry; and paneer in seemingly the same butter sauce. The buffet has also become expensive, at $22.95/adult, before taxes and tip. We probably will return to Jaipur when next in the area for a special occasion, and we were pleased to introduce the restaurant to some long-term Vienna residents who hadn't previously visited. That said, we would likely visit other, less pricey, Indian buffet restaurants for more everyday dining.

Someone else ordered the same thing and asked for extra salt to dump on the chickpeas, which just baffled me. The flavor was ample. I also ordered a chai, and while they call it a cutting chai (which I understand to mean cut in half in size), it was a decent amount and a nuanced mix of spices. The owner was a little odd and was making calls to various tables and being kind of pushy such that it made one little girl uncomfortable to the point where her party complained about it, which was acknowledged by staff. I would advise them to put the customer's well-being first, but neither I nor the offended parties would seem to have any compunctions about coming back for the food.
