Know what you're getting into. These 5 stars are highly subjective (but aren't all reviews?). Read on and I'll tell you what my 5 stars means. It's not the decor. It's not the service. It's not the cleanliness. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BARGAINS. If you love a deal and enjoy the treasure hunt, then this is the place for you. If you don't like to shop, don't go here. The lines are long and the place is crowded and generally a mess. You'll find constant E-bayers/resellers trolling so don't be confused when some 20 year old straight guy grabs the 5 pairs of Prada and Jimmy Choo heels from in front of you. These deals are that good, but finding the treasures requires a keen eye and a patient mentality. Don't go if you're not in the right mindset because otherwise you will hate it here. THE DEALS: this place is packed to the gills with merchandise. And the shoppers aren't kind to the merchandise so clothes and shoes and everything else will be strewn everywhere. The employees do their best to keep order, but it's a challenge. Know that there are amazing finds if you take the time to sort/look through things. I don't know how many pairs of Pradas, Zinottis, Jimmy Choos, and Manolos I have found here. They'll be in the $2-300 range depending on style and material. Some aren't in great shape so inspect your wares prior to buying because generally, returns are not allowed. My friend got an amazing deal on a Valentino bag. Another friend found an Akris dress for about $100. And I got a coat for $300 which retails for $1500. The deals are here. You have to go often and work for it though, so only go when you're in that mindset. SOME TIPS: Other shoppers will take things out of your cart. Keep a close eye on your finds as well as your personal belongings. Be respectful but stand your ground. Bring nail clippers if you're shoe hunting. Most pairs are ziptied together and this will help you clip the ties so you can try them on. Bring water. Pack your patience. Look through all sizes. Stuff is everywhere. Even the shoes. Wear clothes that allow you to try clothes on over it, like thin leggings and a tank top. The dressing rooms seem to be in repair or just aren't open anymore. Happy hunting!! read more

I had to take my sister who was looking for a formal dress, this is Total Craziness! , God some other reviewer advised about young kids naaah be careful of the aggressive elderly people! They are everywhere trying to get stuff, even with canes and back braces. There's mess everywhere and with so many people I'm sure there's a lot of shoplifting, it's disappointing to see how we can behave just for a brand name "something " that in many cases are not necessary the best quality and besides that people end up buying things they don't really need, but they "found". Also I totally understand the frustrating faces and expressions from overwhelmed employees dealing with "trying to pick and organize the mess" and also dealing with all kind of people backgrounds. So I will not expect a friendly face or attentive staff. I get it. The thing that I totally hated is that there's not enough space for extra cashiers the lines are endless for the fitting rooms and to check out, the store itself is part of the chaos, better organization and design of spaces will help for sure, but I'm not sure if they care. read more

This store is a hot mess! BUT, what can you expect when you have a store that offers discounted designer goods? Employees are nice and helpful! They deal with aggressive and crazy people all day so be nice to them!!!!! If you don't like to wait in insane lines go Monday-Thursday. The store is pretty calm (compared to Sunday, Friday and Saturday) and the amount of little Asian women shoving you and ripping things out of your hands is much lower (yes, it's the little Asian women who do this EVERYTIME I go in). This place is a constant disaster BUT it's because these crazy customers trash the place. It seems to have gotten better over the last few months though. They restock EVERYDAY, not just sundays like some people have said on here. You have to be willing to dig to find treasures! They do have lots of damaged items and dirty items. If you are a thrifter/enjoy the hunt or frequent stores like Marshall's, TJ Max etc then this is a GREAT store! If you prefer the calm and easy to navigate stores like Nordstrom, Neimann Marcus etc this isn't the place for you. read more

This place is a freaking zoo. Come here after you've had your caffeine fix because navigating through this store is an expedition. (See my pics for examples.) A lot of stuff is crap, but you have to wade through and hunt to find real treasures. Designer shoes for $100, etc. If I wasn't on a budget, I would go HAM. If you are good at hunting through bins and don't mind the chaotic setup of the store, you'll love this place. If you are lazy (like me, most of the time...) and not properly caffeinated, then this store is going to exhaust you. read more

There were so many people in the store... it was difficult to shop. The prices aren't that great. Most of the stuff has some kind of damage or has been returned.... so check your items very well. The lines were VERY long. It wasn't worth me to stand in line that long.. Plus the associates were screaming at customers the entire time I was there for blocking the dressing room. "Don't block the dressing room or I will put you out of line." Good luck if you plan on going here. read more

Does it get any better than this? Brand name clothing/accessories/home goods + consistently changing selection + at least 75% price cut of items Honestly, nothing beats this place. I always feel guilty for leaving bc I feel like I'm robbing the store. From here, I've gotten $30 Cole Haan shoes, $30 marc jacobs watches, and clothes from madewell, j crew, and BP (at $5). Sure, things may seen disorganized but that's a small price to pay for what you will get. This place is my worst nightmare. First of all, there was a line to get in. Seriously? This store reminds me of shopping on Black Fridays. Once you get in, it's a hot mess. They have bins you can go through, aisles and aisles of unorganized madness, people ready to swing their elbows at you as you attempt to grab a spot to try on shoes. Oh! And...there are certain times when they restock some of the areas. Employees start yelling to get people out of the area so they can add additional items to the area. If you run, they'll kick you out. If you fight, they'll kick you out. If you try to get in there before they're done, they'll kick you out. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. The shoes look so dingy, dirty, and worn. I actually was able to find one pair of dress shoes at a decent price. My friend could spend hours here. I think we said we'd meet up in 3 hours. Honestly, I was ready to run out of there in 15 minutes. They have a variety of clothes. The dresses seem to be very popular. The line to try them on though just isn't worth it. From this sole U.S. location, if any or all of the following apply to you, then there's a good chance that you will enjoy--and at times laugh at--a 4-starred treatment to Last Chance: 1. Thrift, treasure hunting is one of your favorite hobbies. In case you didn't know, Last Chance contains goods shipped from Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack (whether new or returned), and these are given their--hehehe--last chance to be bought AS IS. If you're lucky, you'll get to the store realizing that, say, boots and shoes of certain sizes are marked an additional 50% off. 2. Patience & composure are written all over your body. There will be hoards of voracious customers drooling to get their hands dirty especially on name brand items. On one incidence my friend got a purse that somebody shamelessly snatched it from her hands--my friend got it back, btw--and on another scene a consumer sat next to me (while I was resting), holding onto this Givenchy purse for dear life b/c she was uncertain if she really wanted that glowing bag. 3. You REALLY don't mind thrift shop quality on the aforementioned. Because it is considered a thrift store, try to catch yourself complaining that clothing goods are sadly piled like a big dumpster, & there are a couple of punctured holes on that gorgeous-looking Michael Kors purse or stain spots on those Kate Spades. 4. You're comfortable w/ rules, security officers, & poker-faced workers all over this one-story retailer. For instance, only one purse at $89.99 or above can be bought per one customer. They must exist because unfortunately there are a number of tactical yet aggressive, sometimes profit-passionate shoppers that I don't need to fully describe how insane they can be. In other words, it's a weekly Black Friday for poppin' some tags. 5. You're OK waking up early on a Saturday--the day that's likely to be restocked. Angela T & I got in the front of Last Chance about an hour before opening hour. She told me that regulars will come as early as 8am (2 hours before opening on a Saturday) to increase their chances of grabbing those Nike sneakers. 6. You're a curious explorer--like me ^_^. I primarily did this for feeding that curiosity & for hanging out w/ Angela. Out of this 2.5-hour experience I did end up purchasing, e.g. a pair of boots that I bought at $15, rather than full value of $129. So with all of these in mind and you're still down, I wish you the best odds for your first and last chance =)!! read more

People actually travel to phoenix just to shop at last chance... for us Phoneticians, we have the luxury of visiting as often as we want! Every nordstroms and nordstroms rack in the country filters into last chance located right in your backyard. This is the ultimate bargain shopping much better value than just about anywhere else you might even imagine. $200 shoes ($30-$40), $100 shirts ($10 - $20), $300 jackets ($40 - $60), $250 pants - jeans ($30 - $40), $100-$150 pants - jeans ($10 - $20) - be careful not to spend your entire paycheck here. If you show up at opening expect a crowd - be sure not to push, shove, run (yes, people actually do this here) or you might be "asked" to leave for the day. Shopping here is a sporting event. While the prices here are awesome, buyer be ware. Make sure to thoroughly check and try on everything you're planning to buy. I always want to come here and then regret it because it's always full of animals. Salvajes. These people are rude and act as if they've never seen anything at $25 before. It's not even *as* cheap as one would imagine and yet it's always full of people that think it's a dollar tree store. Most items are broken, dirty, and/or on the ground thrown, which kind of grosses me out. Shoes mostly look like they haven't been sold since 2001. I feel like low key the employees keep all the newer good stuff to themselves because I overheard one stocking up the size 8 shoe rack talk to another employee about getting new boxes of stock in the back and one of them "calling dibs" on a pair. Update, I recently returned to last chance. Their prices in the winter time are sky high. They no longer have a set % off of retail price. I have seen better deals at The Rack. The shoe section is sparse I think they pulled them and repriced them all. The only thing that's the same are the bottom feeders trying to push their way though for a possible bargain. read more

I'm not sure why ASU hasn't started using this place for research yet. Psychologists could study human aggressiveness patterns in the shoe section. Sociologists could study class stratification between the ebayers buying 15 designer handbags and the college girls buying 6 $1.00 tank tops. And an ethnographer could explore the interactions that people of a wide array of cultures have with one another in the line that usually stretches to the back of the store. If you can't tell, this place is a zoo. An underground hell-hole with no cell phone reception where Nordstrom's returns go to die. If the land of misfit toys included Mui Mui's and Christian Louboutin's the Last Chance would be it. I love this place. Sure you have to get rammed by a stroller or two to get anything good, but that makes shopping here much more interesting than at the mall with civilized people. The first rule of Last Chance is that you don't talk about the Last Chance. #2: Do not talk about the Last Chance #3: Bring a buddy. People get vicious in the fitting rooms and in the checkout line. #4: NEVER leave anything unattended. You will never see it again. #5: Go on a weekday morning. There will still be a mob waiting at the door, but the weekends are not for the faint of heart. #6: Go often. You will never find anything here on a whim. You must have a strategy. #7 His name was Robert Paulson. Ok, ok, enough with the Fight Club references. But seriously, if you follow these rules there is no limit to what you will find. This place is tough -- it's like Black Friday every day, which means that the staff is also an understandably hardened group of people ("Get in line! ONE ITEM"). I've gone almost every month for two years and I've never felt the need to write a review until this last week. Samiya (sorry if the spelling is off) was extremely pleasant and helpful. When I first walked in, she noticed I needed to see the shades and got someone to help, and then we ended up checking out at her register. Hit or miss. I've been coming to this Last Chance for years. Even before I moved here, I came to shop at Last Chance. It's that serious. But through the years, Last Chance has changed - prices have gone up, it's more crowded and the frequent shoppers are more ruthless. You literally have to throw down to shop. Don't dare bring your kids here if you actually want to "shop" here! They'll just get in the way. Trust me, I'm a mom and I although I love my kids, I wouldn't want to torture them by bringing them here! Their carts are small so bringing a child would seriously just take up some space that could be used for merchandise! Just sayin! Anyway, if you decide to stay, just know that they bring out stuff all day long. They'll ask you to wait until they're done restocking and then they'll let you loose. Watch out for the grabbers and runners. They'll kick you out if don't follow the rules. Yup, there are rules! If you come before the store opens, it definitely is a spectacle. There's always a crowd that gathers in front and the manager will come out a few minutes before opening to tell you the specials and of course, the rules! If you've braved the crowds and rummaged through bins and aisles, and you've made it to the cash registers, know that there are limits to the number of items you can buy. Double and triple check your merchandise to make sure there are no holes, damages, etc. since Last Chance doesn't accept returns or exchanges! Always a mess and chaotic, but great place to go hunting for a cute pair of shoes! I went around 2pm on a Thursday, and found three pairs of shoes that ranged from $16-18. The men's shoes section was much more selective and ridiculously priced. The designer shoes were still $100+ with noticeable scuffs and wear. My boyfriend was unamused with the store, but I will always make a stop when I roll through Phoenix, AZ. I would have to say Last Chance is great and not so great at the same time. Also note.. the store looks nothing like the photos on yelp from the business owner. They have a bunch of designer clothing, shoes and accessories. The only thing is you have to dig to find the things that you want and you have to fight crowds and people bumping into you. A lot of the merchandise has stains or rips on them. I found a very cute Kate Spade purse but there was a handle that was ripped off. There are a lot of cute things if you do find them, but keep them when you do. Once you put it down, you may not find it again. There are one-of-a-kind clothing, meaning that there is probably only one size of the item. You would be lucky to find a different size of the same item that you wanted. I saw a lot of cute shoes that were not in my size. The staff are nice unless you bother them when they are trying to fix a rack of clothes or aisle of shoes. There are long lines for the dressing rooms and to check out. I would still recommend this place to other people. Just make sure that you double check what you are buying and note that a lot of the merchandise may have been used or ruined beforehand. This place is a steal though! read more

One phrase that sums this place up: a dream come true! This place is the last call for all your favorite shoes, clothing, handbags, jewelry, socks, and swimsuits previously sold at Nordstrom. This place is half digging and half luck, but if you're lucky, you can find items for dirt cheap! Here's an idea of how dirt cheap some of the items are: swimsuits ranged from $6-10, and the swim bottoms were $1.97!!! No I did not mess up the decimal point! Literally a dollar and 97 cents! Good swimsuits too, the ones found in the athletic section of Nordstrom in the spring/summer, like Le Blanca and Tommy Bahama. I also bought a formal dress for $7, and a Free People dress for $17 (regular price $100). Found some Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats for $99.99! I'm not too certain, but I think that all of the designer shoes were 100 or less. My sister got some Valentinos (regular price $700) for $99 as well. Lots of Tory Burch flats too. WARNING: The items here are mostly returned items or refurbished (which means someone wore it at least once or for a few weeks, and returned it, and Nordstrom may have replaced the soles of shoes), so you can't be too picky. You have to really check the items before purchasing, as this is last chance, which means no returns! There are holes in items, toe prints in shoes, scuff marks, etc. So the lucky part comes in when you stumble upon an item that looks like it was returned because the person no longer wanted it. Think about it: Nordstrom has the best return policy out there, so ANYONE can return their purchases...whether they wore it for a good season, one night for a wedding, etc. I still love this place though, since all of my family members and I all found something and were all very satisfied with our purchases. I came here with a friend after hearing about it from others and the great deals they had found. From the outset, the place looks like a mess - kind of reminded me of a thrift store, with rows of unorganized clothing. My expectations immediately plummeted. The section of scarves and bras was a mess (like your underwear drawer overturned onto your bed), but a bunch of people seemed to be diligently digging through them. The shoes section is kind of tricky because many of them look a bit used. So, they have some scratches on the tops and most likely than not, the bottoms are really dirty. If you're fine with that though, the prices seemed to be reasonable. I found a couple items from the clothing section (in the hour I was at the store): 1.) Topshop tank top for $5 2.) comfy boho shorts by allen allen for $9 ^ The prices are pretty crazy. I saw several articles of clothing from topshop for so much less than it usually is. I fly down every year for bargains. There are not as many bargains as it was years again, and I hate the color coding. It's worth the trip, I usually find lots of shoes. It's usually off season, so the summer months has winter inventory, and the winter has summer clothes. They restock all day, so if your in town visiting be sure to keep checking back. There are multiple reasons I would like to give this place a 0 star review but at the same time I know it directly relates to my personality. I hate crowds. I hate fighting for a Lucky bag or Tory Burch shoes. I hate not being able to get down an isle without being pushed aside. But at the same time I strut my $10 Michael Kors shoes like I didn't run to get them out of a tub. I have countless $100 dresses I bought for $10 or less. I would definitely recommend coming on a Friday or a Saturday when the color of the week tagged items are 80% off. I've found a Patagonia jacket for $30, Rebecca minkoff fanny pack for $6 and some other amazing deals. While the quality of the items can be a little sketchy there are so great deals to be found in there. But be forewarned this place can be NASTY like want to wash your hands after. Some of the shoes are so worn there are feet marks warn in and dirt on the bottoms. Some of the bags have change and receipts left in and I've even seen one with flossers. Ick!!! This stuff is more returns or used items than just stuff that didn't sell but you can get lucky and find some good things just be prepared for the competitive people they will line up to get first dibs so they can resell it which ruins it for everyone else. read more

You can find some designer steals here. You come here looking for treasures, but be warned: it's 80% crap. I have found 2 Wildfox Couture sweaters here for $9.95. That is crazy good if you know that Wildfox sweaters are in the $100 range. The shoe area can be gross sometimes. Most of the items here are obviously returned goods. Some of the workers are even wearing latex gloves as they fix the shoes. There are also plenty of used bridal shoes. Nordstrom takes back anything you want to return to them, which is cool, but leads to a bunch of tacky brides returning their wedding shoes. On a positive note, the store, although carrying the a somewhat off-putting smell of a thrift shop, is constantly maintained by the employees. Shoppers are often throwing things around looking for that treasure of a deal. But the employees are right behind you putting the items back. I appreciate this and I try not to abuse it. read more

Every time I visit family here in Arizona, I always make time to visit Last Chance. I've been coming here for only a few years, however the prices have gone up. Shoes that were once $40 are now $60. I even found the exact same pair of shoes that I once bought here for double the price of the price I actually paid here! This place can be a hot mess. I mean, yes there are great deals, and yes that sometimes means getting a tad crazy, but sometime people can't hang and just kind of go crazy and can be very rude. However, as I said above, in every case of my visit to AZ, I am sure to make a stop at Last Chance. Even though prices have gone up, there are still some amazing finds! P.S. I always wondered where all those used return it at any time used or worn items at Nordstrom ended up? Well one of the mens shoes sales employees at Nordstrom Scottsdale tipped me off on Last Chance! So we're talking used like at a thrift store and but than refurbished to be "resell-able condition" but the quality of those top notch brands you expect from Nordstrom. I knew I wanted a trim fit smartcare Nordstrom brand dress shirt and mission accomplished!!!! Normally retails at $70 and got it for under $12. Since I knew my size there was no need to try it on and because it was used. Took it straight to the dry cleaners. I didn't want to go anywhere near the shoe section. Cause that's one particular used item that I won't buy worn. But if your in Phoenix and you enjoy the challenge of copping that one needle in the haystack item or items for a great deal....you just might find it at Last Chance! Hey you just might even come across an item that you actually returned at your local Nordstrom! 5 stars for my personal shopping experience cause I was quick, efficient and the long lines moved quickly on a Saturday, but if you hate large crowds of people rummaging through stuff like at a sample sale than I would not recommend Last Chance. You really have to like a certain type of shopping to frequent the basement Nordstrom Last Chance in Phoenix. I have heard it's like Filene's bargain basement in Boston. I don't know I haven't been there. I do know you go down there and take your chances that you might walk away with some excellent buys. Some things have been worn and some are brand new. How much work does it take to check something for a torn seam or something like that? If that bothers you, stay away because no one wants to hear you whine there. I can't tell you how many times I have walked out of there having saved two or three hundred dollars. Everything is out on display. You have to dig at times, other times it's on racks, rounders and whatever. A couple of words of advice. If you find something you like, don't lay it down even for a moment. Things walk away! Be prepared for days where you won't find anything but on the good days, that makes up for it. I understand Last Chance opened because Nordstrom was sued for having employees wear clothes then cleaning them and putting them back on the racks? I do know that in the past, Nordstrom would take anything back. Last Chance is a way of taking returned merchandise that would have to be written out of stock and shredded otherwise and making some money on it. If buying a pair of shoes that has two different labels-on the manufactures and one Nordstrom private label, you won't like Last chance. In New York, there are services where people will wear your shoes several times so you don't have to stretch the leather. I hate that part of buying shoes. Give me a pair that have been worn a few times any day. I will tell you a little secret-from time to time you can find just about anything at Last Chance. Suits, gowns, dressy, casual, shoes of all and any styles, including narrows and wides, that's the beginning. I came home with: 2 pairs of Steve Madden wedges $15 each Steve Madden boots $10 (1/2 off all boots when i was there) Dolce Vita wedges $15 Rainbows $10 3 Longchamp purses around $30 each Tory Burch sandles $40 Michael kors watch $40 James Perse blouse $6 Burberry pajama bottoms $10 and my favorite finds were: 2 pairs of classic Jimmy Choos $100 each 1 pair of bow Valentinos!!!!! $100 I had a lot of fun and want to try and go once a year. I went at opening everyday but I don't think that really got me anything that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I was hoping for a pair of toms but those were snatched up really quickly. Last Chance is the store where all the clothes, shoes and products end up that didn't sell at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. It's bargain heaven! But be prepared to have to dig and search through racks or piles of clothing. I found this experience very similar to Black Friday shopping. The store was a mess, clothes was on the floor, bins of clothes had been rummaged through and the shoe department was messy. The lines were also extremely long but it's because the deals are THAT good. I also found it interesting how the store employees wore gloves to clean up their sections. When an area was being restocked, the employees would close off that area and security would stand by and ensure people wanting to get first dibs on that area were in a straight line before it opened up again. I wish I was exaggerating when saying this but it's 100% true. Also, major tip: Shopping carts and bags are rare to come by so you have to wait for people to check out to get them. The prices are worth it. But prepared for long waits, messes and lots of people. read more

A coworker who goes to Phoenix often recommend this place especially since I love to shop. This is for serious shoppers who are patient and willing to search high and low for a particular size and style. This is a Nordstrom clearance store that includes returned and overstocked items. The experience is like going to a Nordstrom Rack and a thrift store. Although it can be a little cluttered in some areas, it's relatively organized since sizes are true to what the rack or shelf says. You have to look through the clothing and accessories for stains, scratches, and amount of wear and tear. That part can be frustrating. I could have left with Marc Jacobs bag, Michael Kors jacket, and Jimmy Choo shoes. However, they were not in near perfect condition. After an hour of browsing, I bought $50 Cole Haan blush pumps and a $20 rain coat. Overall, the prices are great with over 50% off retail price. You can tell who are the serious Last Chancers with their cart full of great finds. The cashier mentioned that people line up at 8:00 am, and the store doesn't open until 10:00 am. My coworker mentioned they probably resell their purchases, and people even fight over certain items. read more

Staff is nice. The clothes however are mostly damaged and when an intact article is found it somehow is outlandishly more expensive than the exact same thing online. If one does not care about materials and looking just for the the cheaper brands which use all polyester materials, you can get the articles around $8-$50 but to me, it's no where near worth the outlandish crowd, train long lines wrapping around and out the door to pay and if hygiene is your thing, then this is not. read more

First of all I am in Nordstrom's girl! I've always loved Nordstrom's and better yet, I love a great sale. This is always been my go to store when I'm in the Phoenix area. This concept is nothing new to me. I also understand it is a as is where is final sale store. all that being said, I must say today was so disappointing, I walked out without making a purchase. In the first place I always go to is the intimate apparel section, I love the great deals you can find on high end bras. Normally when shopping these overflowing Bins The ratio is between new and used items is about 2 (old) of 8 (new). Today out of the hundreds and hundreds of bras overflowing the ratio was flipped I would guess it would be 50 to 1. Honestly the Goodwill or a secondhand store would reject these undergarments as a danger to society. I've always appreciated the great customer service that Nordstrom has always provided. For goodness sake's throw the garbage away and take the loss. read more
