Basically every screen in the place was must-watch TV and the bartender -- understandably distracted, perhaps -- decided that was the ideal moment to restock straws and cut fruit. We waited. In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. Maybe a 3.2 night in a 4.3 restaurant. I'd go back on a slow Tuesday in October.

We also had the pretzel sticks with a cheese sauce. Fast service, great vibe, delicious beers and really enjoyable. If I wasn't a lightweight, I would have had a second Creamsicle. We knew it would be a good place when we came in at 230 pm on a Friday and it was already pretty hopping. We grabbed a drink and settled on a couch to play one of the many games they had available. We were about to head out when one of the staff asked if we wanted to go on the tour for free since it was their customer appreciation day and we said definitely. And all I can say is you should definitely go on the tour if you have a chance! The tour was awesome and I loved all the history it covered, both about the building, location, and beer. A full pour of beer was included halfway through, and you got another beer at the end as well as some additional swag. The beer itself was very tasty and they have a huge variety to suit everyone's taste. From sours to ales to stouts they've got everything. We didn't give their food a try but I can safely say when we go back we definitely will!

I got the garlic shrimp skewers which came with a Hawaiian roll, Cole slaw and a side (I chose a baked potato). My partner got the prime rib dip with hush puppies. Didn't have a chance to take a pic of the cheese curds before they were devoured! Only downside is the place is VERY noisy. Everytime someone who move a chair, the scraping sound was otherworldly. They are metal chairs on a concrete/gravel flooring. Not ideal. And waitstaff was constantly dropping things and running into each other or the chairs/tables. That was a bit chaotic. We specifically looked for a place we could easily talk & catch up. We started w/ one chocolate martini at Cucina Rustica and chatted OVER an HOUR. Little did we know, we should have stayed there. Next stop, Cary RACIST Ale House. The back area lounge was nearly empty & we were assured it was open (not booked for any events). The waitress, at the start aggressively asked a bunch of questions. I first thought her line of questioning was bizarre so I ignored her while trying to figure out what to order. She asked how we got there, who was driving & specifically said she didn't feel comfortable in serving me. WTF?!?!? My friend politely answered her questions and when she left, we all agreed the waitress's behavior was odd & laughed it off. We refused to have her ruin our evening. To our SHOCK the waitress would NOT serve me?! Only me! Was I disruptive? NO! Was I being violent or doing something illegal? NO! Did I come in stumbling? NO! Was I slumped over passed out? NO! WOW, she basically said my Asian eyes were an issue. Falsely claiming I was drunk and couldn't be served because she didn't like Asian-looking eyes?!?! I was stone cold sober ***hole! We were all completely sober & flabbergasted! Completely disgusted, we left. I thought about brushing this aside but I wouldn't want anyone else to be treated that way. I will not allow them to humiliate me. This was supposed to be a happy occasion, and it was spoiled by a bigoted, small-minded person. I don't know how these people can live with themselves.

They also make pizza and calzones and some other main course dishes like fish and chips. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer. My husband ordered a sandwich and I ordered the boneless wings. For drinks my husband ordered a ginger beer and I ordered Diet Coke. The check before tip was $62. Normally I'd be okay with that but I thought it was a lot given the quality of the food. The cheese curds and boneless chicken wings seemed like items from a restaurant supply place that they fried up. Unfortunately next time we are in the area we'll go somewhere else. A fast food restaurant would have given us the same quality food for a fraction of the price.
