Our server Taisu was very attentive. We met the manager named Lilly who was very kind and had great customer service. They provided great customer service. I ordered the vaca frita( shredded chicken breast with onion) with rice and French fries. The food was not bad I had better. I didn't really like the fries. The restaurant was very clean. Overall the experience was good.

Lily the manager came up to me and she was super sweet and attentive. I brought my dog with my family and the Lilly the manager played with my dog and offered to give him ham. I ordered the fried cheese as an appetizer and it was pretty good. For entree, I ordered the filet of fish with garlic and olive oil and I really didn't like it, it was wayy too saucy and it had a weird smell. I ordered a crema Catalana for dessert and it was pretty good. Tuisa was our server and she was super sweet and on point. Although the service was exceptional the food was ok. The parking is free and near the restaurant.

*Cockroaches in the food, no hygiene, this place is out of code, this happened 5/27/22 *Cucarachas en la comida, sin higiene, esto sucedio

Una buena atención al cliente también incluye reconocer cuando algo sale mal, y no desacreditar a quienes confiaron en ustedes I am very disappointed by your response, as I did not fabricate anything nor make a baseless accusation. I was a loyal and frequent customer of your establishment, and what happened on May 27, 2022, was a truly unpleasant experience. I found a cockroach in my food after having already eaten part of the dish, and I immediately reported it to the person in charge at the time. For you to question my integrity and claim that my review is a "perceived hit piece" is completely inappropriate and offensive. I had no intention of harming your business, but as a paying customer, I have the right to report such a serious hygiene issue--especially when it involves food safety. I also attached photos of the incident. I don't see why I should be expected to remember staff members' names when I reported the issue directly on the spot. Instead of discrediting your customers, I suggest you take the time to look into what may be happening in your kitchen. Good customer service also means taking responsibility when something goes wrong--not silencing those who trusted your business.

Very nice spacious diner-like cafe. The service of the lady who served us was great and they had decent breakfast food. Their croquette was amazing!!! Overall, a bit salty for my liking, but good food and fresh orange juice (with pulp).

pechuga de pollo a la plancha! this is a really bad photo, but the chicken is really good.

Great Cuban restaurant. One was located next to be on Biscayne Boulevard in the 2000s but it closed down and I haven't really had a good Cuban food sense. Just spotted this location out of the corner of my eye way the hell out here in Miami Gardens. It was worth the stop. I remember the Mojitos were amazing!!!

Avocado was great and enough for three people to share. My mom had the arroz con pollo à la chorrera. This was huge!!! Definitely enough for two people to eat. I had the enchilada de camaron and it was just like I remember it from my childhood. So flavorful and a big portion of shrimps. There's parking behind the restaurant but the spaces are a little tight. The inside is spacious with lots of seating and great for large parties. Everything was great except for the service. He was not attentive whatsoever, was just standing around talking to the other waiters instead of checking on our table. We had to call him over a few times for things we needed because he would not pass by our table unless we called him over. This is a great restaurant for Cuban food and I always recommend it to people. It's a shame the customer service is lacking.

Not sure what has happened during the past two years but the food wasn't that great this time around. We shared the simple egg sandwich with bacon, and ordered a cafe con leche, the croqueta sampler and some islas canarias croquetas. The simple egg sandwich was unflavorful. The croqueta sampler and islas canarias croquetas were my favorite. Sadly, the cafe con leche didn't even taste like cafe con leche. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed although it was just our table and two more tables she was serving. There was a total of maybe 8 customers. We had to keep asking her for more water and napkins.

We came in the evening and immediately, as we walked up, there was music, people laughing, talking, smiling... the energy was incredible. I also loved that there was a bar off to the side while waiting. We ordered a few mojitos and sat outside at the tables and benches, just enjoying the atmosphere. When our name was finally called and we walked inside, I genuinely felt like I was stepping into history. The atmosphere here is unmatched. The music, the aromas, the people. God, I loved it here and I hadn't even tried the food yet. We ordered the braised oxtail (which came with plantains and rice), salmon glazed in guava BBQ sauce, ceviche tropical, assorted empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was phenomenal. The sauce paired with the empanadas perfectly. The guava BBQ glaze on the salmon was absolute perfection. It was the perfect combo of sweet, smoky, and flavorful. The ceviche had the perfect acidity and tasted so fresh and refreshing. This is one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in Miami. It completely lives up to the reputation. Highly recommended

There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Having had a quick workday lunch and walked around the mall, I had worked up an appetite. I was seated in a corner table for two and my order was taken. The restaurant did not seem that crowded even for a Friday night but it felt like a long wait. Unlike many Cuban places, they don't offer complimentary bread. I ordered their "platanos a tentacion" (bacon wrapped sweet plantains), grilled chicken and moros. The rice was a little hard and the chicken breast on the small side and barely seasoned other than the onions garnishing it. Service didn't feel very attentive for me as a solo diner. Between finishing my dinner and waiting to order either dessert or cafecito, I also sat and waited until a waitress finally came by. At that point, I just got the coffee and my check. I don't believe I was offered a printed receipt, just the card terminal. I asked if the tip was included and pretty much in time when I was putting the usual tip (trying to be generous with 20 percent) I was told that it was a service charge, and that the tip was extra, but had full amounts starting with 18%. So basically I paid 30% tip for a small portion of food and inattentive service. Looking back, I see that this restaurant had a different name and I had enjoyed dinner at their other location six years back. It's disappointing to see how it has fallen off. As it were, a lot of the original creative items on the menu are no longer being offered.

When I first walked in, I was greeted by one of the servers. She spoke to me in Spanish and based on my response to her question, quickly switched to English. She sat me at a two-top. At first glance of the restaurant, it was decent size. They were doing construction around the entrance where the bar was, so it kind of took away from the appeal. While I've never commented on this before, I noticed my water and wine glass were so streaky. They weren't see through like usual but def. could have been cleaned/rinsed more. After being sat, I was given water and some focaccia crackers. While I loved the idea, the crackers were impossible to "dip" and made the oil pointless. For drinks, I went with the passionfruit margarita. They had a few cocktails to choose from, but this has been my go-to as of late. It was pretty good but nothing to write home about. As a starter, I went with the Cuban Caesar and for my main, I chose the pesto pasta and added chicken. The Cuban Caesar was easily one of the best I've had! I loved that it came in a Parmesan bowl and the yuca croutons were different but good! The croutons were a weird contrast because the salad was so cold and then you have these hot pillowy croutons with a weird texture. Regardless, I give the salad a 10/10. The pesto pasta was great; super rich but unfortunately, not much else. The chicken didn't have any seasoning and I almost wish I hadn't paid an additional $6 for it. The service was great and although they weren't that busy, I still believe it would have have still been good. Overall, I had a great time here and I may come back next time I'm in town.
