Horrible horrible experience. Three times in a row. This last and final time, I bought a birthday for my daughter on Thursday. We paid $40. And could not even eat the cake. The frosting was pink and inedible. It was bitter and gross. I spit out the bite. Nobody ate their cake slice. I wanted to return the cake and get my money back, that's how disappointed I was. Not the best Dominican cake I have had.i had gotten 2 slices, so It was a quick stop to satisfy my crave but it wasn't the best so I threw it out. First, it was too moist. second, the filling in the cake was bad I gotten one of pineapple and one of guava, both fillings were bitter and tasted like they were bought from the store instead of made freshly from scratch. So that was bad. And these ladies are rude I was with my friend and she saw they had a coffee machine and my friend said do you make coffee excitingly and she gestured "NO" with an attitude, me and my friend were like ok and my friend was trying to liven up the room cause the whole time this lady was straight up dry and rude. I know that first impression is key, but don't let the "look" deter you from tasting the best Dominican cakes ever. The ladies work extremely hard under very adverse conditions to serve the best tasting cakes. I do wish they served Cuban coffee (they have a machine there), cortadito, cafe-con-leche and some pan-con-mantequilla would be an added bonus. I ordered a birthday cake for my 1 year old here. I spent some time with the owner explaining how I wanted to have it decorated. I was looking for simplicity in the design. I asked about adding flowers and had to prepurchase the not so perfect gumpaste flowers. I inquired about fondant and was told it was expensive. I never mentioned that I was on a budget, but the owner kept referring to how expensive all the little details, i.e., flowers and fondant would be. In the end I ordered a smaller cake than I normally would have gotten and went to the local Italian bakery and gave the same instructions to their baker and he wowed me. Overall, the taste of the cake was very good, but the experience of working with the owner left me with the decision of not going back there. I would rather find a Dominican cake made in Miami than deal with her poor customer service. In the end, her cake looked nothing liked I had described to her and she did it her own way. :-( read more
