Was here a few years ago and gave it a 3 star review and now I have to say it is a 1 star. First off it was empty on a Saturday night. Big red flag. Secondly, it smelled fishy. You know what they say fresh fish dies not smell. Decor has not changed. Started with a sangria and bread service. So many places are charging for bread but if you're going to charge me it better be good. Yall know I will pay for good food and service. When the bread came out there was 5 pieces of some sort of loaf bread that had been warmed. The menu said ciabatta bread and when I pointed it out to the waitress she said they didn't have it anymore. I said that's the only reason we ordered it was because it was a ciabatta bread. She just said sorry. Yall know if you follow my reviews I used to own a restaurant and it's misrepresented on the menu, What else is misrepresented? We ordered the wedge to share which was ok. I ordered the cod and my husband ordered the sirloin top cap and asked for it between med rare and med. My small piece of cod was overcooked, rice cold, plantains bitter and tortilla was hard and tasteless. My husbands sirloin was well and we think they mixed up the orders and it was TOUGH. Chewy and no salt. My cod was tasteless. We finished quickly to get out of there. 140.00 for a waste of a Saturday night. Could go anywhere better. We will no longer be back. read more

My husband, our daughter and myself ate here on September 27th and it was fantastic! It was our second visit and I was craving a specific drink they offer, a Japanese Old Fashioned. It didn't disappoint. The appetizer and all of our dishes were incredible. The restaurant is just so cute and staff are pretty observant and attentive. After dinner, we headed upstairs to the rooftop for a bit. The atmosphere is completely different and the views are fun! Highly recommend! read more

My husband made reservations for 2 to celebrate my birthday over the weekend. We had no issues with parking. There was plenty in the back of the building. Upon entering we were greeted and taken into the dinning room to be seated. The ambiance was very pleasant and the service was 5 stars! We started out with appetizers. We ordered the Pastel de Cangrejo, oysters and received some bread while we waited. The Pastel de Cangrejo (crab cake) was delicious! The Mango habanero sauce was so good. For our entree, I went with the Scottish Salmon and my husband ordered the Barrel Filet. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection, exactly how he wanted. The salmon was cooked well and I enjoyed it. The portion was huge and I ended up taking most of it home. On top of the incredible food, our server was amazing. I had hopes they would be amazing and stay amazing, but I was wrong! The location and look are perfect for the area, but the staff and food do not match up to the premium price point charged. The drinks are the best part - either in the basement or the roof, they are always good. The steak and other 'main menu' offerings are not worth the price point. Every steak I ordered (probably 4 or so) has been overcooked to the extent I sent it back. The sides are good, but small in size. Go for drinks and entertainment, skip the food. read more

It's hot up there, duh, summer in Georgia and all... but a working fan would have been awesome. While considering a new home purchase in the area, my 21 year old son asked if we could go someplace nice for lunch, which totally excited me! You see, most of his life he's been a lover of your typical kid foods: Burgers, mac n' cheese, pizza, pizza rolls, chicken nuggets... you get the idea. Georgia has been experiencing a severe heat wave, but we found a corner of the bar that provided great shade on a very windy day. Our menus and cups blew away twice (LOL)! Still, it was an absolutely perfect Saturday evening as we arrived right around 6pm. I only wish we had more time to stay because a live band was scheduled to begin playing @ 7:30. [ THE FOOD ] I took the recommendation of both the bartender and the band leader and ordered the TALLARIN VERDE con CARNE, which is grilled steak, queso fresco and spaghetti pasta tossed in pesto cream sauce. Just the word pesto caused me to hesitate, but I decided to take a chance. I can only describe this dish with one word, two if you count the F-word I wanna say... (Freakin') INCREDIBLE (5++ stars)!!!! Hands down this may be the title winner of my favorite food find of the year! My son had the EMPANADAS MIXTAS (5-stars): braised beef, chicken, corn and cheese, and shrimp and cheese while my wife ordered her typical rabbit food, a salad! We also ordered the JALEA de MARISCOS (5-stars) to share, an appetizer which consists of fried calamari, rock shrimp, fish, and yuca with salsa criolla aji Amarillo sauce. Our PIÑA COLADAS and GIN N' JUICE were also 5-star, made by their awesome all female bartender staff on this particular day. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] The best compliment I can give Latin Flavor's is what my son said while we were eating as he looked around at the view, the cruise ship-like atmosphere and the food. He said verbatim: "When I asked if we could go someplace nice I didn't know what I wanted until I saw it. This is EXACTLY what I wanted!" Thank you Latin Flavors management & staff. I don't frequent steak houses very often but last year I visited @latinflavorssteakhouse in Winder and quickly decided "this is my favorite steakhouse" Their flavors and steaks are simply the best in my humble opinion. I decided to take my dad for a good steak on his 65th birthday and given the fact that he had never had a TOMAHAWK STEAK, I decided this year was the year, so I took him out to Latin Flavors. He ordered a monstrousity that was 48oz and not only did he eat it all... He also ate the mushroom and sausage appetizer as well (shared with me). He could not believe the size of this thing and said it was the best steak he has ever had. The other pictures are from previous visits. They have good appetizers, good entrees and good desserts This place will cost you a few coins but if you love steak and have a special occasion coming up, Latin Flavors should definitely be on your list to check out. This place is so overrated. We went for my husband's birthday and all six of us thought the food was meh and the service even more so. We were there on a Saturday night but it wasn't too busy. We ordered a tomahawk steak oscar style...they forgot the oscar style...they brought the toppings out on a plate and told us to just put it on top...we are talking about a $100 steak! It was just a saucy mess on a plate. None of our steaks were cooked to the temperatures we ordered, and they depend on their chimichuri sauce to add any "flavor" to their dishes. We ordered multiple appetizers, all of which were just ok. We may have just had a bad experience because we've all heard such great things. However, we were very dissapointed. read more

Always love coming here! Brought my son and daughter-in-law from Florida and most of the meal was great! My Barrel filet was amazing! Two of us had short ribs and they were tender and great. My sons variety plate was little disappointing. His Latin sausage was very dry and not hot, the chicken was cold and dry, but the steak and lamb was good! Our empanadas were tasty but not very hot! We ordered the chocolate molten cake and was hot and delicious! The Star of the meal was the espresso cream brûlée WAS OUTSTANDING! Will get it again! Met some friends here on their recommendation. I didn't waste my appetite on an appetizer, and went right to a 16oz New York strip. The steak was done to perfection, and full of flavor. They didn't kill it with seasoning, and just kept it simple. The mashed potatoes were rather bland, but I didn't spend much time with them. Had crème brûlée and sorbet for dessert. Delicious! The best thing about this restaurant is the seating environment! Not only do they have a great indoor seating area, they also have a beautiful rooftop bar with a great view of Winder. It often has live music and a very happy mood. The food isn't necessarily the best I've had, but it's still great overall, especially for a small town. Great music, food, drinks, and ambience. We ordered drinks, empanadas, my daughter had steak with pasta and I had the Mexican street tacos. We also ordered the plantains. All so good. Latin Flavors is such a great find in Winder! Great service, an upscale ambience and then amazing food. It's worth the trip if you are near the area. Definitely make reservations to be sure you can grab a table. There is bar seating, but it's limited. This restaurant is an experience, so take your time. We started with cocktails (spicy margarita & sangria) which were great and accompanied with the empanadas. So delicious! Bread is served complimentary with chimichurri and salsa. Stopped by for dinner one night to celebrate my sister who came up from Atlanta. Chose Latin Flavors because of the rooftop but upon arriving was told that the rooftop was closed. A little disappointed but we stayed anyway mainly because we were already there. Our waiter was very polite. I was able to order a dirty gin martini on the rocks (off menu) from the bar. The bread server was also very sweet offering me two rolls instead of one, if I wanted. LOL. We ordered the JALEA DE MARISCOS to start with our drinks. Was plated beautifully. Best thing on the dish was the pickled tomatoes imo. They brought everything on the dish together. We also ordered two orders of the PARRILLADA and an order of the salmon. Salmon was salmon BUT the mixed grilled plate was a lot better than expected. The mashed potatoes were my favorite and I cleaned that off my plate quicky. All the meats were cooked and seasoned very well. Chicken was moist. Steak and lamb chops, a perfect medium rare. I was so impressed with the dish I ordered another to go for my husband to try. It was 915pm and my waiter informed me the kitchen was closed. That was very confusing being that they don't close till 11pm.. So that was another disappointment. We decided to go ahead and order dessert to finish our meal. Coming back with the dessert menu our waiter informed us that everything on the dessert menu was available but the apple empanadas. Unfortunately for us was the only thing we actually wanted while looking at the menu before coming to the restaurant.. We settled with the coconut flan. I'm personally not a fan of flan because most taste like egg jelly to me but this flan surprised me. As stated on their menu it is more of like a cheesecake and I appreciated that. The egg taste was very mild as well as the coconut. But overall it was a good ending to our meal. Even with some disappointment throughout our visit we left pretty happy. Quality surpassed our expectations. Big city experience in our tiny town of Winder. Will be returning with my husband next time for sure. We made reservations for Latin Flavors on a Friday night. We were greeted by the hostess, and taken thru the large double doors in their little lobby, to the dining room. Our server was friendly, shared the specials with us and took our appetizer and drink order. We could have easily shared our salads, they were a nice size. The atmosphere was nice, the lighting was bright and we were able to carry on great conversation during our meal. My husband ordered a 12 oz Filet and I ordered the mixed grill. Same with our friends. The filet was cooked perfectly Medium Rare. The flavor was so good, and the temp was great too. My mixed grill was a really nice presentation. The chicken, sausage and lamb chop were all cooked perfectly also. The chimchurri sauce on everything was great! I didn't enjoy the lamb as much as I thought I would ( but that's on me.. I wasn't sure I would like the flavor of lamb) we really had a great night and will definitely return to try more entrees on the menu. Great date night spot. read more

I would give this a 5 in every category. If you are looking for a casual dinner or super special this is the place. First time here and we waited for a while to finally make the reservation to dine here. It's first class all around. Ambiance 5 Food 10 (which I wish I could give) Professionalism and attentiveness 5 Started out with a crab cake appetizer over a fruit salsa. Great flavor all around. Next up was bread and salad. Wow the bread was awesome and unique. They had three different types to choose from and I tried the olive bread. What a unique flavor and how delicious! The had two types of dips for the bread and both complimented the bread perfectly. On the the entrees. My hubby had the ribeye and it was the best steak he has had in years. Tender and great flavor (yes I had a bite and completely agree). I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. I got the whipped ancho potatoes (which looks like mashed sweet potatoes but it's not) and broccoli and the sides were just fabulous. The elegant feel, ambiance and food were all perfect. We will definitely be back. Also a shout out to our server Natalie. She was fantastic! Prompt, courteous and attentive to say the least. Price- names of food make them sound "fancy" but it's really crappy bar food. I ordered steak, chicken, & sausage meal ($45). Steak was burned on the outside & super rare on the inside. I ordered med rare. When I say super rare I mean, the inside still had ice crystals. Chicken was dry & inedible. Sausage was fine. Service- sat 30 mins before getting waters. Our family has eaten at Latin Flavors many times. We go for special occasions, birthdays, and date nights. It is a higher end steak house, and prices reflect that. I usually get the New York strip, and it's fantastic. Service is always prompt and detailed, even on busy nights like Valentines. It can get a little noisy due to the open atmosphere, so keep that in mind. If you're looking for a spot to celebrate something special, this is it! read more

We came here for our weekly date night and brought my momma along since she lives nearby. When you walk in there is a small hostess stand and an elevator. So far it didn't lol like much but the doors by the hostess are pretty. She also makes sure the doors stay closed and we learned way later it's so the ambience of the restaurant and the eyes of the patrons don't get blinded by the sunlight. There really is no room to wait as your table gets ready and I. The meantime others will pile into the small room to wait for the elevator to go to the rooftop. Not horrible just a little shuffling around trying to find somewhere to wait. Inside the restaurant it's is nice and like stepping away from downtown Winder. It's a little rustic steakhouse vibe. Our waiter might have been new but never told us any specials but later we heard another table being read specials so then we realized oh they do have specials he never told them to us. Some of had the lobster bisque and I had the mixed greens salad. Those with the soup liked it and said it was filling but had way too many green peas in it. They also have bread service and I got what was said to be sourdough but I can tell you it's just a white roll. The olive roll seemed to be better but nothing great. They serve it with 3 sauces and when we asked what was in them the waiter didn't know. I can tell you the red one has cilantro and a little spice and the green was parsley and garlic base with enlighten garlic to fend off a vampire We all got the Delmonico steak and it was cooked correctly and very flavorful. They put chimaciri sauce It. If you don't like a ton of garlic ask for it on the side. Your side choices are mashed potatoes or steak fries. The mashed potatoes were stone cold and you get 3 globs of them obviously souped in spoons and put in a fan pattern. Maybe they got cold while molding them. The fires have garlic salt on them so if you don't want that ask for no slat plus they came out hotter the. The fires served as is. While we were dining the manager kept opening the door and standing in front of it. It let the light into the restaurant and reflected off of glass and those facing the door had to grab their sunglasses because it was that much a difference in brightness. We figured out why the hostess was always making sure the fit was closed but the manager was oblivious which seems fitting since the whole time we were there he stood around and just stared at the tables and didn't interact. Really a disappointing experience. I have eaten there a few times, but it had been a while. One of my guests ordered a specific meal and was served something completely different. It wasn't until we were 2/3 of the way through the meal that the server checked in with us. I had the burger - was too salty. Bottom line is the place is very different than it was a year or so ago and the food, experience, etc was excellent. Is it under new management and ownership? I absolutely loved this place when it originally opened and was excited to return. Doubt I'll be returning anytime soon. I suppose if you have never been, then it might be considered good. We throughly enjoyed our experience at this hidden gem in downtown Winder. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised that excellent dining was available in Winder. While I was impressed with a perfectly cooked to order steak my wife enjoyed her flavorful chicken. The cranberry bread (roll) was very tasty but the fried plantains were outstanding - OVER THE TOP! Without a doubt the shrimp appetizer was prepared just moments before serving. While a tad pricey this restaurant is worth it. Worst experience I ever had dealing with the manager. My husband called to place an order for three different items for pick up. They called my husband and. Stated they are currently out of the sirloin steak. They had asked what steak he will like instead, He specified the New York strip steak. When he got home there was New York strip steak entrée as well as the sirloin steak entrée. I had called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager and ask him why did we receive sirloin steak and got charged for it if they didn't have it. The manager, was the one who said they didn't have it available. I told him to take it off the bill since he's the one who made the mistake and he specified for me to bring it back to the restaurant. I was mind bugled when he said that. That's not sanitary or per restaurant code to bring food back. I know this because my husband worked in restaurant business /Owner. We actually ended up throwing all the food out. It was disgusting. It looks like they reuse the food from the buffet. That's sitting there for four hours for lunch and dinner so please be careful. read more
