Came here last night around 11:30 PM to recharge for a night of studying. It was one of the few places still open so we decided to give it a try. I've actually ordered uber eats from here once in the past and found the food to be good quality. There wasn't a lot of people inside so there were plenty of seating options to pick from. Side note they also have a quick stop window outside as well. Our waitress quickly took our orders and brought us water, but that was about the only quick part of the service. After we placed our orders our waitress brought a basket of Cuban bread about 5 minutes later after she brought the water it was extremely hot though so I'm guessing they just came out of the oven. Then because my boyfriend was taking a while to decide on what he wanted to drink she said she would be back but didn't come until we called her attention about 10 minutes later. After he ordered his drink though she came back quickly with a bottle of modelo and a chilled glass which he appreciated. We then waited for what seemed like forever but was probably only 25-30 mins. We ordered a tuna sandwich and ropa vieja though not things you would think would take too long. Turns out while the place didn't look busy people wise they were very busy with online orders via uber eats. I noticed several people come in and out picking up delivery orders and they actually put my milkshake in a plastic cup thinking it was a delivery order. Eventually though our food came and it was worth the wait considering our only other option was going to be subway. The top of my sandwich was a tad burnt but it didn't effect the overall taste and my strawberry milkshake satisfied my sweet tooth. My boyfriend also devoured his dish and approved. Overall not a bad local Cuban spot with decent prices specifically if you're looking for a late night bite. However if you're in a rush I would consider elsewhere or order from uber eats or Postmates so you can just get it delivered to you. read more

This place was a surprise. An excellent surprise. The steak is always great. They really need to improve on how to cook the rice though. The consistency isn't there. You'll get some small patches of uncooked rice every once in a while. The amount of food you get is an absurd amount. Like, you get huge portions. For what you're paying, you are eating like a King. The ambiance inside is quiet and very classic. It reminds me of southern Spain. I would recommend Uber Eats if they deliver to you. read more

I stopped to have lunch and This was the most awful experienced I had. as soon as i got in the place seems very clean. First and foremost the waitress ( black hair skinny old lady ) looks at me and No Greeting or acknowledgment then I sat and waited for a good 15 min after waiting she comes and hands me a paper menu takes my order. Half way through the order she walks away i had to scream the rest of the order. waited for food after she served me she forgot to give me utensils i stared eating and i almost vomited i pulled a hair out of my mouth it was black and long. This place has come to my rescue when I have needed a colada at any time of the day or night. They're open 24 hours. They're like Denny's except they don't have that weak office-coffee brew. They serve coladas, cortaditos, and cafe con leche out of a little window like any latin establishment in Miami. The price. Whenever I need a quick cheap meal, voila, this place is my option. If ever I need a media noche, cuban sandwich, or quick breakfast this place is the best option in Sweetwater. A meal just for you is less than $10. And if you're having breakfast with some friends, it's probably around $20. And yes, it's in Sweetwater so it's pretty common knowledge that your service will be in Spanish. It's a fact of life around here and you have to live with it. Great service, I'm usually just a minute or two at the window and I've got my coffee and maybe a pastry. Best of all, it's open 24 hours. In a shopping mall but difficult to find parking as it's full. A medium size restaurant and looks pretty decent. Upon sitting down, they're quick to service you. I ordered the Thursday special which was Rabo encendido or oxtail. They failed here as the food was lukewarm and half of the meat was rough and the other was just ok. I get in there with my friend who speaks Spanish because I don't, she approached JUAN very nicely and was explaining the situation but again he was so dismissive and disrespectful. They gave everyone their food but us! we were still waiting because the food hasn't even been prepared! JUAN started dissing us in Spanish raising his voicing talking about how there are so many more restaurants out there we can go too, he's not going to do anybody else's work. I had to contact doordash and let them know what was going on because how I pay for delivery and had to end up going to the place??? The one star is for the food which was tasty, once it arrived. Our experience in this restaurant was deplorable thanks to an awful waitstaff who had no business being in the service industry. While we understand that everyone is short-handed, it only takes a few kind words from servers to patrons to keep them patient and considerate of the situation at hand. Our waitress only made eye contact when she brought the check, after keeping us waiting for it an additional 20 minutes for it. While we were there, an older gentleman came in and asked a young woman if she could spare some change. She very generously asked the gentleman to sit down and she would buy him lunch. He gratefully sat at small table near her. After a long while he finally got the attention of another waitress who rudely told him to wait his turn. He told her he didn't need a menu and simply wanted a plate of rice, fried eggs, and juice. Others came in after him, whose orders were taken and filled while he continued to sit in their midst. In the interim, our order came to us piecemeal, making it an awkward situation at our table as we'd gone out for a nice family meal. My aged parents chose a to share a meal which came 30 minutes after mine and 25 minutes after my brother and sister-in-law's dishes. It did not escape us that a handsome man came in about 15 minutes after us and was served the dish which I'm pretty certain was my parents', 20 minutes before there's was placed before them. The waitress which was tending to us and the older gentleman at one point told him he was going to get his food when it was ready and he'd have to eat it outside. This, because he simply continued to inquire as to why his meal was taking so long. Why shouldn't he? He was likely a lot hungrier than anyone one of us there. We couldn't wait to leave and chose to get our coffee elsewhere. The woman who tended to us was a middle aged woman with long hair (a wig) and glasses. Humanity. Kindness. Equity. Its a Cuban restaurant that of course, serves Cuban food , but you will find a few surprises on the menu. The food is amazing , i mean really really good. Always clean, the service excellent. I go here probably the most out of all restaurants, the sandwiches are always winners .. ( i went down the list and have had every sandwich ) only problem is they used to deliver ,but not anymore you have to lower yourself to uber. When I came in to this restaurant it had a bad smell I don't know if it was just a person eating next to me in the restaurant but It smelled really bad. Food was OK, I got a baby churrasco with rice, tostones and a noodle soup. The soup was a little salty. At the end I went to the bathroom. It was really nasty, it smelled really bad and it didn't have toilet paper. I live in Broward went down to Miami for House of Horrors, after the carnival was closed the only spot listed open in the area was Latin Restaurant. Starving and wanting something other than McDonalds, I called and put my order in. I purchased an appetizer sampler for two. I believe it was called the bandejasabor latino, it was so much food!!! Absolutely love this restaurant. The food is great and well presented and you cannot beat their prices.. Additionally, the staff is very courteous.. My husband and I have been back quite a few times since our first visit for breakfast, lunch & dinner & never been disappointed.. I had two door dash drivers cancel to pick up because they were taking long. On the third one. I decided to walk late at night to the restaurant it's not 1:30AM & I still don't have my food! When I arrive to the restaurant. JUAN is rude, dismissive and assumes that because of the color of my skin i do not speak Spanish when I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was also dismissive. Ignored me twice. I was yelled at the entire time, Juan was yelling at me saying that it wasn't his fault that my food was not ready and that I could go and take myself to any other restaurant around if I can't wait. IVE BEEN WAITING FOUR TO FIVE HOURS FOR MY FOOD. I went all day without eating due to the fact that I was studying heavy for an exam. (I'm a student at FIU) everyone in the restaurant was getting their order before mine. He said I wouldn't get my order unless I had an order number, which I had already gave him since I walked in the door! He threw my food on the table beside me and said "here's your food. A perfect place to satisfy your midnight hunger pangs. The place serves good latin food which is bang for bucks. My personal favourite is the fish sandwich. Its right across the FIU engineering centre and the sweetwater police station.. So pretty safe even at the 3am in the morning. I would definitely recommend it as a coffee place. read more

This place is amazing! If in the area a must try is the fricase de puerco (unfortunate they only serve it on Fridays as a special). It's outstanding! Service is great and even with takeout they give you bread, which is hard to get in Latin restaurants. Their batido de mameys are one of the best I've had, great for a late night recovery drink. I only had breakfast here once. I arrived there early in the morning for what I thought was going to be your typical Cuban breakfast. I had the breakfast special which consisted if 2 eggs, ham, house potatoes or fries, Cuban toast, and cafe con leche. The place was clean and the service was okay. The food did take a bit longer to arrive to the counter than it should have. Just stay away from the house potatoes. It must be a Central American breakfast treat. It's basically boiled potatoes.
