CALL AHEAD. If this review was food-only, it would have been five stars. But, since we had not been warned ahead of our first visit, from entering the restaurant to the food served was 50 minutes. The menu clearly states "cooked to order-allow time", but that doesn't help when you are already there. To-go or dine-in, the smart money is in calling first. There are only six tables with seating, many two-tops in this small restaurant in a strip center. But, consider yourself warned and head over for some great Latin food. While we were pondering the menu, literally every customer in the place had already been there before and told us to expect a wonderful meal. We had two Mofongos (the classic with Carne Frita, the other substituting slow-cooked pork for the pork chunks, $18). The Carne Frita was a little over-cooked but very flavorful, the slow-cooked was excellent. We also tried the traditional Cuban ($13), very tasty and like the other two entrees, too generous to eat in one setting. Allow time and be aware they are only open three days a week- 12 to 7- and they're serious about opening at noon, even with people standing outside, they didn't open until a few minutes after.

Latino's is only open later in the week but we'll worth it! They did a whole remodel inside, the place looks more inviting, making it less "whole-in-wall." Owners are super nice and have a nice flood of Hispanic customers that are regularly coming back for lunch. Arroz con gondules is the best. Empanadas are made to order and delicious. Because owner is the only chef, you may have to wait but you won't regret it. Especially if you want the authenticity of good Puerto Rican food!

This will be a place to come regularly. We had the alcapurrias, Pernil, pastel, arroz con gandules, the mofongo with bacalao was off the hook delicious. I felt I was at a restaurant in a Puertorrican town. You MUST try.

I had a small lunch, which is generally unlike me. In fact, I rarely have any small meals. Combat my small lunch with pumping out 8 miles on the treadmill, and I was famished. Stopped by for a very early dinner, around 4:30 or so. Due to the odd hour, I was the only one in the place. Very small cafe with only about 5 tables. My guess is they do a lot of carry out. I lived in the Miami area for 4 years, so I know my way around some Cuban food. I also had some Puerto Rican friends, so I have had those native dishes as well. I like to think the two food styles are similar. I am sure any Boriqua or Cubano would argue differently, but coming from this southern Anglo, the styles are similar. Empanadas are one of my favorite Latin foods. I wanted to try the chicken but they only had pizza or beef. A pizza empanada?!? On my next visit, I am definitely going to get one of those, but I chose the beef. Delicious. The minced meat was flavorful and tender and the size of these things is huge! Crispy and wonderful. For the main dish I got the pollo a la criolla. Dark meat chicken in a sofrito, onion, garlic and olive sauce. Outstanding! I would have liked a little more chicken, but what was there was so tender and the sauce was perfect. Came with rice and beans. The guy gave me three huge scoops of arroz con gondules and topped it with pinto beans. A meal in and of itself. Everything was delicious! If you like Latin food (non mexican), you have got to try Latinos! Run by a husband and wife and they are so friendly. Great value as well.

Lunch special was delicious! This was beef steak & onions with yellow rice, beans, and fried sweet plantains.

Back for lunch today with a friend and we both had the Tripleta sandwich. The bread was baked in store yesterday. Three meats... cheese... special sauce (mayo and ketchup?) then grilled and pressed. It was warm and melty goodness. You could taste the individual flavors of the meats and they worked well together. It's a large sandwich so no sides are needed but beans and rice or an empanada would do the trick. Service here is excellent... the owners are warm and friendly. Can't wait to go back!!!

My first time being here the owner helped me. They didn't have any menus yet, which is very odd for any restaurant even new ones. So I ask the owner what he would recommend and I took his recommendations. I went with the steak and onions, fried plantains and white rice with red beans. Steak and onions: 1/5 Stars While the onions gave really good flavor, the meat just seemed cooked to oblivion. It was extremely dry and begged for seasoning. Fried Plantains: 4/5 Some really good flavor here and cooked just perfectly. Red beans and rice: You could add some salt yourself whatever you prefer, but they are a little bit bland. The ham does that flavor, what is really lacking in some of this food is seasoning. Overall I would say my first visit was a very pleasant one but nothing really stood out to give that wow factor coming or going. It is very underseasoned and they don't serve anything naturally spicy which is fine. But the food you can tell is fresh which makes this place a winner in my book. Three stars due to lack of seasoning and no menus but a nice staff and freshly cooked food.

Latinos was amazing!! Went after work on Thursday around 7:30pm they close at 8:00pm food was so fresh and full of flavor. Misael(Mike) the owner was so personable and tentative to what we wanted. We wanted beef and cheese empanadas he made them from scratch the taste was outstanding ! The prices are so reasonable ... I'm Puerto Rican and this is a genuinely authentic Puerto Rican restaurant ....

The wait time here is insane. Overpriced Puerto Rican food, do yourself a favor and just go to Tirado's in Greenville.

Visited: Friday, June 13th, 2025…read more We decided to check this place out, and overall, it was a solid experience with a lot of potential! Here's the full scoop Ambiance: There's a nice amount of outdoor seating with a chill vibe. Inside, the space is cozy and clean--nothing fancy, but definitely inviting. I loved that the buffet is behind glass and served by staff --much more hygienic than your typical buffet setup. Pricing: Shoutout to them for offering a senior buffet price of $9.99, compared to the regular $16.99. That's super appreciated when you're dining out with parents or older relatives . Drinks: We ordered jugo de maracuyá (passionfruit juice). The flavor was there, but the pulp kept floating to the top, so the texture was a little odd. Still refreshing though! Food Experience: My mom started with the buffet and felt the food was lukewarm--not cold, but definitely not hot either . No heat lamps or lids on the trays might be the reason. Thankfully, the manager, Jesús, was amazing and open to feedback. He told us the place is under new ownership (just a few months in), so I'm hopeful improvements are coming. My husband also had the buffet and really enjoyed the rice and beans --well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Mar y Tierra mofongo platter , which came with: Garlic shrimp, Steak, Arroz con gandules, Fresh salad, And oddly... beans, even though the rice already had pigeon peas? The mofongo was great, and the salad was fresh and crisp. The steak and garlic sauce were both flavorful but unfortunately super salty--I couldn't finish it. The dish itself could definitely feed two people though! Dessert Letdown: I asked for tres leches cake, and I'm so glad I've learned to smell it before digging in. The milk had definitely gone bad . It's tricky with that kind of dessert since it spoils quickly if not stored right, since it consists of three different milks. Service: Top-notch. Jesús (manager) was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. Cris, our waitress, was sweet and attentive--she kept our table spotless and always checked if we needed refills or anything else. 10/10 for service --- Final Verdict: Great service Clean and comfortable setting Good flavors (but watch the salt) Affordable for seniors Just needs better temperature control and fresher desserts Would I come back? Yes. Especially to see how it improves over time with the new owners.

The one server, who seemed very pleasant, spoke no English so the ordering was very difficult. We couldn't even make one ounce of headway with the language barrier. Luckily a customer come to our rescue. . I ended up just saying we want what he has. and with his help, we got our order in. The food was very good. We enjoyed the flavors of the food. The Leche cake was very good. The biggest thing was there wasn't any prices anywhere. We had no idea how much things cost. There is just a chalk board with the food selections. So 1 entree, 1 dessert cake, 2 waters cost $26 without tip. I'm not sure if we will return.
