The food is soo delicious and comforting. Their yellow rice is super flavorful and their meat is amazingly seasoned and tender. I also really liked their macaroni salad, which I usually am not a fan of outside of this restaurant. Their food really resembles Caribbean and Latino culture and it reminds me of food I had in the Dominican Republic. I LOVE this place; one of the best Puerto Rican BBQ spots that I've tried. You must get a platter with plantains and yucca fries as your sides. Came here twice in one week and got the short rib family platter and grilled salmon family platter. Enough food to feed four people for two days. The arroz con gandules was also plentiful and delicious! Rosa's BBQ was my first pick for a birthday dinner, but when I walked in, the ambiance didn't quite fit what I had in mind for a semi-formal celebration. They've got a fine dining room, sure, but no soda fountain. And while I probably don't need Diet Coke anyway (I know, I know), it's something I wanted for my special day. So, I ended up choosing a different spot for my birthday dinner--but I knew I had to come back and give Rosa's a proper shot. I'm really glad I did. I ordered the Beef Steak with Fries and Arroz Con Gandules (Puerto Rican rice cooked with sausage). At just under $20, it's not what you'd call cheap, but then again, what is these days? The steak was absolutely incredible. It came with a chimichurri sauce and another sauce that reminded me of Japanese Yum Yum sauce. The portion was generous and totally worth it. The sides, however, didn't impress me as much. Next time, I'll request extra crispy fries. As for the Puerto Rican rice, it had great potential, but it tasted a little past its prime. I'd suggest the restaurant consider a shorter shelf life for it to keep it fresh. The service, though, was fantastic. A very sweet older Hispanic lady took my order and patiently answered my pinche gringo question about what Arroz Con Gandules is. While the sides brought the overall experience down a notch, I loved my meal at Rosa's and honestly regret not picking it for my birthday dinner. I'll happily come back--and I'd love to see them add a lunch menu. Something like $12-13 for half the portion would've been perfect. read more

We were driving through Spartanburg looking for a place to have lunch. We picked Rosa's because of the reviews on Yelp and were so glad we did. Two of us had chicken empanadas which were wonderful! Phenomenal food that impressed our whole family. We were blown away by the server whose mom cooks everything from scratch. We loved the place and the chance to try the different sauces served with each plate. Our daughter raved about the empanadas while I went with the delicious half chicken. The macaroni salad was divine and the black beans had a surprising amount of flavor. My wife went with the salmon and loved it. My son ordered the pork chop and raved over and over again how great it was. Something he has done only a few times in his life. So thankful that we found this on Yelp. And we chatted multiple times throughout the day how much the food and service surprised us. Wish we had a Rosa's BBQ closer to our home. I saw someone's review in a foodie group and thought about the beef empanadas for hours until I could get there! 100/100! The empanadas come with this incredible, creamy sauce that is so flavorful. I honestly, everything was flavorful and delicious! The beans were perfectly stewed, the ribs fell right off the bone, and the pasta was amazing. No matter where I travel, I'm always in search of good BBQ. On my last 2 trips to the area, I stopped by Rosa's. Both times, the place was clean, the customer service was awesome and the food delicious. Parking is also abundant...only steps from the door. First visit I got the pork spare ribs, mixed vegetables and fries. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. On the second visit, I got the pork chop, yellow rice and the vegetable stir fry. Although the pork was slightly overcooked, it was still delicious. This has become an easy dinner solution for my visits and I'll definitely be back. read more

Hidden Gem Tucked behind a car wash and next door to a bar on Reidville Rd , this place is a true gem . Walked in for the 1st time, I asked a group of 6 people what's good - reply was "everything". The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating , moved from NJ I found out. I ordered the combo of grilled pork chop, Puerto Rican rice, & maduros(plantains). The pork was sooooo flavorful - I tasted vinegar, Sofritos (maybe), and achiote. Very juicy and tender. The rice with pieces of meat was to die for. Plantains were cooked perfectly . Got an order of empanadas to go and same comment - delicious . I'm sure I'm coming back here to try the other things in the menu . It's not cheap but hey , I will pay for good food . What a great little restaurant! Why go to a boring chain restaurant when you can get delicious homemade-tasting BBQ with a latin flair? We were traveling down I-26 around lunchtime, so we looked up restaurants with excellent reviews, close to the interstate. People were raving about Rosas, so we decided to give it a try. Rosa's is a Latin American Restaurant located in a strip mall behind Walgreens on Reidville Road. Inside is small with around 6 tables. Everyone there is amazingly friendly and welcoming. The food is freshly prepared on charcoal grills by Rosa. When you enter the large menu is painted on the wall. You order at the register and pay. Your food is brought to your table if you are dining inside. They have a large carry out business as well. This was our first visit so we tried 2 different meals. They have family platters, combo platters and plates. We had salmon, yellow rice and stir fried veggies. BBQ pork ribs, Puerto Rican Rice, and stir fried veggies on the two plates. The salmon was delicious and a little spicy. The yellow rice so good and the stir fried veggies included zucchini, onion, bell pepper, string beans, snow peas, carrots. They have a fresh lemony flavor to them. Not too much. Very good. The BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (6 ribs) were very good. The BBQ seasoning is more of a rub and a little sauce. I really liked the Puerto Rican Rice as well. The portions are huge! We will split a plate on our next visit but we did bring home enough for another meal.
