Not impressed after my first time. Got a gel manicure and pedicure by Nicole. From the start she was rushing me. I started a pedicure at the same time as the woman in the chair next to me and she was just getting her nails filed by the time I was putting my shoes back on. Rushed. Sloppy. Then completely awkward when it came time to pay. I paid with card and asked if a tip could be added (even though I did not feel it was completely justified). She said it was cash only and apologized because she forgot to tell me. She asked if it was my first time. Really? I told her that I would give her what cash I had, she was agreeable until it wasnt as much as she wanted. She then said she could add it to the card, which is what I asked for in the first place. I gave her what cash I had and left. It was on principle at that point. I am only giving it 2 stars because I saw how other women interacted with their clients and it was much more in line the level of time and care you expect. Unfortunately, not Nicole. This has been my go-to place because they have a lot of different gel colors, and some of them do a good job. However, they were already overpriced and just raised prices. Also, the manager is very rude and does not know how to deal with customers. I was overcharged due to a mistake on their part, and she did not apologize or even remove her mask to speak to me, or fix the issue. They are also relentless with trying to sell you extra things (like 4 times per service). I've had good experiences at the place across the street, and they are much more pleasant to deal with. Will be going there from now on. read more

For the past 6 months.. As I walk to and from work I would always pass this nail salon. It looked so nice from outside but since it wasn't so busy I was a little skeptical at first to try it out. After a friend told me that she had a fantastic manicure from them that lasted for more than typical 3 days, I decided to give them a shot. So I did and ever since then I been hooked!!!! My manicures last for almost a week and my nails have never looked better. They put this awesome OPI cuticle cream which definitely helps my cuticles. There pedicures are awesome!! Although they maybe pricer then than typical well known Bay Ridge locations, they are SOOOO worth going to. They take such good care of their salon and make sure there job is perfection. I enjoy the candies, tea and water offerings they give their customers and the spa experience you get. I love their points membership program such a great idea. All the woman that work there are so nice to their customers and do a great job. I have gone to Olivia and Jennifer so far and they do a fantastic job!!! Love this place!! read more

Absolutely amazing! They are incredibly thorough, and they go out of their way to make sure your nails are perfect, which is a huge compliment coming from my picky self. The salon is super clean, tools are sterilized. The selection of nail polish is overwhelming.. I kid you not, they have every color. I cannot say enough about how I already love this place. I recently moved to the area and not being a big salon person was just looking for a basic mani/pedi after a long year of nail neglect! Based on the reviews of how clean the salon was I gave here a shot. I'm so glad I did! It's the cleanest, tidiest nail salon I've ever been in. It's also probably the best most thorough manicure I've ever received - $10 for a basic (that is an amazing price!) and they use a hot towel to help soften your hands!! The basic feels very indulgent. Their pedicures are great too - again the basic is so thorough. And I love the green jelly they use to soak your feet. I've had a basic pedi and the second time I had a more extensive one where they use a towel to wrap your feet - I think I'm a salon person now! Also they have a point card so every time you go in you get points that you can use to get a free treatment once you build up enough. read more

I'm always super picky with my nail salons so even though they are quite expensive, I don't mind paying because you get what you pay for! Place just underwent an update (honestly I didn't even think they needed one!!) and have brand new pedicure chairs! Extremely clean (and I mean extremely!!) in always there during the evening hours and the ladies that work here are cleaning the place thoroughly from top to bottom. Everything they use (tools, buffers and filers) are all brand new and are opened in front of you. I never have a complaint when I go here! If you are new, I suggest making an appointment as they do tend to get busy as the weekend approaches. read more

I visited Latoue on July 17, 2013 and paid with my debit card. Two days later my debit card had a fraudulent charge of exactly $500 at a Target in Flushing Queens. I believe my debit card was skimmed by an someone while I was paying. Latoue is only place my debit card was used where the card was out of my sight while paying. Beware, if you go here, you may want to consider paying with cash. read more

Wow. Literally the best nail salon in Bay Ridge! I've made the switch from a 15$ special somewhere else, the extra few dollars are more than worth it. It is so relaxing and serene in there. It is super clean and the tools they use come out of packaged sanitized bags (like at a dentist office!) They have a huge selection of the latest polishes too. The pedicure is literally insane, its the reason I switched. Not only are they thorough, the massages are long and they scrub your legs with a few different things (not just a washcloth and lotion like some other places do.) They also don't use water, they use a gel as a soak. It is the weirdest yet the most awesome thing you can put your feet in. I took my mom here the day after I went for the first time; she got a massage/mani/pedi special and left there feeling like she had left a spa. THE BEST! read more

It is about as good as it gets. Beautiful place - very nicely done. Gel for the pedicure with all the bells and whistles that the better Bay Ridge nail salons provide. Prices are slightly higher than Mimi's or Pink & White but you get frequent flyer points towards a freebie. Background spa music -- no t.v.s. This is the second review I've ever written and it is because Latoue is AWESOME. I used to get manicures that would literally chip after a day or two. By the third day, I would have to redo them myself. The last straw was when I got to my old nail salon and they took two people before me who had walked in after me! So I decided to try Latoue and I am so happy. My nails lasted 8 days perfectly, and on the ninth day they still look pretty great. Icy (I hope that's how you spell it) did an amazing job and was so thorough. It's about $5 more than my old place, but SO worth it. The place is super clean, it's quiet and calming, they do a great mani pedi, awesome massages. Can't say anything negative! Go!!! read more

Love love love this place! Cute colors, friendly staff, CLEAN! They are a bit more expensive then other places near by but its soooo worth it! Clean tools, clean chairs/pedi tubs, just clean all over! Did i mention clean? Im very picky about where i go for fear of getting some gross fungus. Best pedicure I've ever had. Super-immaculate nail salon (they offer waxing and massages too), very nice, friendly and organized staff, amazing jelly softening feet soak, attention to detail... I'm hooked. Might be a few bucks more than other local places, but not much, and worth every penny. I opted for the green-tea spa pedicure and it was wonderful, but observing the regular ones, they too seem superb. Call ahead on weekends as they seemed busy, but accommodating. I was a loyal customer for over 2 years. Their gel manicure use to last me 2 to 3 weeks. Six months ago, they were not longer lasting as long. It started to last me maximum of a week. I asked the nail technician why it lasted me only a week unlike how long it use to last. She said since my nails' surface was no longer flat from all the filing, it was unable to hold onto the nail polish as well. My nails were being filed every 2 weeks for the gel manicure to be done. Due to all this, I stopped getting a gel manicure for 2 months because I wanted to get my healthy nails back. After 2 months I went back but my gel nails only lasted for one week. I thought to myself that it must be my nails' surface that hasn't renewed itself and so I only went once a month for a gel manicure for a period of six months. Nothing has changed even thought my nails are healthy again and my gel nails once again only last a week. I wasted so much money hoping that my gel manicure would last up 2-3 week like how it did during my first visits. So I started going to another nail salon. Now my gel nails is lasting me up to three weeks. I'm glad I changed to another nail salon as I am paying for gel nails that are actually worth its quality. read more

I live down the block from this spa and the few times I've been there the experiences vary. The ladies generally have done a good job with my manicure, pedicure however today I went in and was told that there is an hour wait. I waited there a few minutes and decided I'd come back an hour later. I was told that I can't do that. I must sit there and wait because it is not fair to the people walking in... I walked in.. There was no availability and I did not want to inhale fumes unnecessarily for an hour more than I needed to. I just don't understand this policy. Sure the technicians don't want to inhale the fumes but I have to sit there and wait an hour instead of going to a nearby coffee shop and coming back when it is my time to be seen. Definitely don't plan on coming back here after that ridiculousness. They act like they are the only good spa in bay ridge... Instead I went over to Angel Gift Nail Spa on 78th and 3rd. Not only was I seen right away but the girls are just as good and actually more attentive to your needs. read more
