Literally so good. The service is so great. They're so sweet. The food is so nice. Get the dumplings if you go I mean, there's literally no mean person in there. I love the history on the wall so pretty in there. I just literally love it so much love love love love love it so much and if I had to pick between the Mexican restaurant in Lau-tori's I would definitely pick Lau-Tori's and if you were wondering it's super cheap I mean some things are expensive but not like $60 $80 that's expensive $70 as well but if you're looking for a place to get some good food, definitely come here love it love it love it!!!! read more

Riding along the Long Leaf Trace we rode into a small town call Sumrall. It was about lunch time so we stopped in to the nearest place for food from the trace and it was Lau-Tori's. We started with a great salad that featured a homemade thousand island salad dressing. When in Mississippi you cant go wrong with catfish so I ordered the catfish platter served with a baked potato, great hush puppies. Dessert was a surprisingly great bread pudding. This is a great place to stop if you are riding your bike along the trace because it is centrally located between both ends of the trace. They get alot of bike business and have bike parking conveniently located in front of the restaurant. read more

Noticed the building off the highway. Stopped in to try something new. The place was an old house. Fried Green tomatoes with crawfish Julie. Awesome. Sampled the chicken and dumplings. Will be back for more. Like momma use to make. Main course was a quarter pound cheeseburger with chili and fries. Great burger. Good size and portion. My bride had the chicken tenders and fries. More than 8 tenders. Very satisfied with the meal and menu. Sweet tea was just right not over sweet like most southern restaurants do. The waitress was quick and polite. For the price you can't beat it. I recommend this place for anyone looking for home cook meal read more

I overheard they had been in business 31 years, so I am surprised to see so few reviews here. It appears locals eat here, which is a good recommendation. We order take out regularly and love the chef salads and fried mushrooms. My only 2 complaints are 1. They tell me it will be ready in 15 min, when I arrive 20 min later I still have to wait another 5 minutes for my food. It doesn't matter how slow or busy they are, my food is never ready on time. 2. All the hand written signs for the servers are in plain view of the check out counter and is kinda tacky looking. We had a group of about 10 people and must caught the staff a little off guard. Order to table took about an hr. The service staff was the bright spot they were very courteous and smiled. A few of is had the lunch special a meat and 3 sides. The hamburger steak was a frozen beef patties. The fried squash isn't that at all, it was frozen not fresh. Lau-Tori's has a history with the people of Sumrall and a great-tasting, dependable restaurant in Hattiesburg. It's a quaint, southern-decorated building with a slight old-timey feel. The food is delicious all-around. Serving burgers, country-fried steaks, soup, and many other items, every offering has been thoughtfully prepared and is served hot. The building could use a slight update but the theme is not unnoticed. read more

Family has been eating here for years, food is usually pretty good and we eat here often. However, I've noticed recently (on more than one occasion) that they cut tomatoes and shred lettuce for the salads WITHOUT WEARING GLOVES. I even witnessed one girl touch the grease covered wall with her bare hand and then go back to shredding lettuce. If they're doing this in front of customers, it makes me wonder what dirty habits they have that I'm not yet privy to! To make matters worse, I called the owner and very politely told him what I had seen in hopes of him correcting the issue, and his only response was, 'we do the best we can.' No apology, no indication at all that he cared or intended on correcting this. I am very disappointed and my family will no longer be dining at Lautori's "fine" foods. This restaurant has potential if they'd scrub the entire place top to bottom (it's filthy inside!) and practice cleanliness when handling food! Take some pride in your establishment, PLEASE! I would love to come back if these issues were solved. read more
