For wait it is itis 5 star. It's a 5 star roadside stop. Great homemade burgers & chicken salad. You can pick up some fresh produce & bedding plants while your there. Fun place to stop.

Whenever my mom and I travel, we make it a point to eat local and avoid chain restaurants. But after driving miles and miles and miles without options, we were ready to eat ANYWHERE. And then ahhhhhhh. Shady Acres Village appears. And it's super cute. Totally instagram-able and Yelp- able and absolutely worth stopping for. So we did. And the prices were right the portion size was appropriate and everything was A-okay. Absolutely recommend.

This place takes you back to simple country living! Almost everything that comes through the store in the café is Produced locally. The food in the café is delicious including all of their blue plates. I guess that's why they have a line almost out the door every day for lunch. I love Shady acres because it's an easy stopping point to or from the coast. I'm a sucker for bakeries and you have to try their cakes. They have a range of cookies pies and cakes that will blow your mind!! I like to stop here sometimes on my way to Hattiesburg just to walk around the nursery and check out the gift shop. It's a relaxing and always puts me in a good mood. Food: The chess squares and chicken salad sandwich

Had a plate lunch here. The fried pork chop, sausage and veggies were fantastic! This is a cool place to stop for lunch, fresh produce, jams, jellies, salsas and pickles. Don't leave without getting the craw pickles!!!

It is only open for lunch from 11-2pm Tuesday through Saturday. We made sure we got in line a few minutes before 11am. Yes a line, so get there early. The doors opened right at 11am and you order from the counter and have a seat. The staff is welcoming and assist with the line and seating to have everything move smoothly. The prices were not bad at all and we got alot of food. The fried chicken is out of this world. A must get. You won't regret it. It is so flavorful with crispy skin, yet moist chicken. Also, it is not super greasy which was my favorite part. I enjoyed the green beans and corn on the cob. The jalapeño corn bread was amazing! My mom got the black eyed peas, mac n cheese, and regular cornbread with her fried chicken. She raved about the black eyes peas. We also ordered banana pudding and Mrs. Pearl's Cheesecake. The banana pudding was my favorite and a great sweet treat to round out my southern meal. The inside of the diner is not very large but does have plenty of seating inside and some outside. While we did not see Mrs. Pearl, her sister greeted us and was definitely running the diner while we were there.

The mac& cheese was really good. The sweat tea was great. The fried chicken was surprisingly underseasoned. The skin was perfectly cooked (crispy and moist) so the potential was there. Disappointed

Loved the Rockefeller and Chargrilled but was not crazy about the Elote with the corn and and little spicy. Just a personal preference. We also ordered the Boogie Bombs that were so good with the pepper jelly. For entrees I ordered the Blackened Redfish which come which vegetables and grits. The sauce over the redfish was great! It complemented the Redfish. The only thing that I would improve on would be the grits. They were a little dry. My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and Ashley recommended the pepper jelly with it. We had great service. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place.

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!
