For wait it is itis 5 star. It's a 5 star roadside stop. Great homemade burgers & chicken salad. You can pick up some fresh produce & bedding plants while your there. Fun place to stop.

Whenever my mom and I travel, we make it a point to eat local and avoid chain restaurants. But after driving miles and miles and miles without options, we were ready to eat ANYWHERE. And then ahhhhhhh. Shady Acres Village appears. And it's super cute. Totally instagram-able and Yelp- able and absolutely worth stopping for. So we did. And the prices were right the portion size was appropriate and everything was A-okay. Absolutely recommend.

This place takes you back to simple country living! Almost everything that comes through the store in the café is Produced locally. The food in the café is delicious including all of their blue plates. I guess that's why they have a line almost out the door every day for lunch. I love Shady acres because it's an easy stopping point to or from the coast. I'm a sucker for bakeries and you have to try their cakes. They have a range of cookies pies and cakes that will blow your mind!! I like to stop here sometimes on my way to Hattiesburg just to walk around the nursery and check out the gift shop. It's a relaxing and always puts me in a good mood. Food: The chess squares and chicken salad sandwich

Had a plate lunch here. The fried pork chop, sausage and veggies were fantastic! This is a cool place to stop for lunch, fresh produce, jams, jellies, salsas and pickles. Don't leave without getting the craw pickles!!!

In my conclusion, the food was yesterday's food. You may ask me how do you know? We arrived at 11:05 to place the order. We got our food at 11:15 which was quick. The chicken was cold. The mac & cheese was semi-warm and my okra was semi warm. You don't get this kind of food if a business opens at 11 AM and you receive your food at 11:15. That's why I am calling it yesterday's food. I wanted to ask so badly for them to just put it in the microwave because I saw it on HGTV and I wanted my food to be really great and I wanted to write a really good review for this business. However, I was highly disappointed. Now I am sure the food is probably hot on Sundays after people getting out of church in the south and all those good things. However, I was disappointed on a Thursday! Highly disappointed! The business is only open 3 hours a day so how could this happen? I am just glad we didn't have to stand in line for an hour and 30 minutes for some cold chicken. And I'll leave it at that!

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!

First time visiting this establishment, and I'm so glad I stopped in! The salad bar is amazing!…read moreSoooo many yummy things to choose from; the salad I built was beyond delicious and very fresh. I saw another review saying that they found it overly expensive, but that was not my experience, especially for the quality and variety. My large salad, with tons of extra "pile-on" extras like chicken salad (on the side of my recyclable bowl), baked & sliced chicken breast, and hummus only cost me around eight dollars (that was including my Glaceau bottled Smart Water). If you went to a chain restaurant and ordered one of their large entree salads, I really can't imagine it would be cheaper, probably more, actually, and undoubtedly less fresh with less goodies. And that entree salad price likely wouldn't even include your drink. They also have soups, baked regular and sweet potatoes that you can load up with toppings, Mac & cheese, and you can make wraps with the ingredients from the salad bar. So, I'll be stopping by when I'm back in town; this place is A++!

Ambiance 3.5 Stars Open concept with multiple tables w chairs or bench seating. Airy and light, clean tables and chairs. Service: 3 Stars This is a self-serve salad bar where you build your own salad bowl. So employee interaction was minimal. No one greeted us and the only time we had interaction was when we went to the cashier. She was pleasant and a wonderful smile but it seems the staff were preoccupied with their tasks. Food: 3.25 Stars Nothing special about the salad bar. There are menu cards where it has several bowl options with pre-fixed ingredients you can follow or just go crazy and make your unique bowl. The based is rice or leafy greens. From there, just follow the procession to make your creation. The salad bowl I made has Korean BBQ CHICKEN as the protein but it didn't taste anything like KOREAN BBQ. Now the veggies were fresh and there a lot of options to choose, however you are limited on the type of protein. There are soup options too but I didn't get any. They didn't look as good. I'm not saying they are bad but there wasn't an option I wanted. NOTE: Everything is a'la carte and it is weighed on a scale. So, if you have a hefty bowl, soup, or other food items, the price will "skyrocket". Drinks are separate too. Our meal cost us $30 (2 salads and drink each) I forgot to take a picture of our salad bowls due to a call from a client and got distracted. However, there are other pictures of the salad bar options. Though the food was fresh and ok, I don't know if I will come back. Limited staff interaction and they still want a "Tip" when you paid. I declined on that option. Heck, I built my salad bowls and got my own drink. I should tip myself. I think "tipping" is getting out of hand at self service or take out options.
