Out of the several times I've been here since they opened, 2/3 have been unpleasant. I remember being ecstatic that a well-known piercing shop was opening so close to campus but my experiences have suggested otherwise. For anyone wanting to come: please beware of the fact that they are closed form 4-5 PM for lunch. I came on a Saturday afternoon to a sign posted on the door stating the closure. After perusing at UV for a bit over an hour, they reopened, However, when I returned, I was told that they would no longer be offering services for the remainder of the day due to their piercer leaving early. Typically, they announce such same-day service disruptions on their social media but (for whatever reason), did not in this day. Had I known, I would've stuck with my original plan of going to another shop when we found out. It is crucial to note that there were other customers sitting in the lobby waiting (for what I presume were piercing services). While Laughing Buddha offers an expansive selection of jewelry, their pieces are far from inexpensive. Their staff is usually helpful but may have a condescending tone? I've messaged their owner about this and a separate instance from a couple years ago and received a sincere apology. Since then, I've noticed that there has definitively been a drastic improvement in their customer experience. read more

The highlights of this shop are the variety and how clean it is but other than that it was an experience I will never forget. Saturday the Fourteenth of February after Six O'clock to be exact. I came in with a family member looking for something but what we found was a bad attitude and really bad customer service. I'm not one to write one star reviews but this is one I can't let go. The employee or should I say the girl running the shop looked really unhappy when we walked in and that we just ruined her night. She did get off her chair to go through the motions of helping us but sat back down looking miserable. I did try to joke with her but she wasn't having it. We couldn't find what we were looking for and we were leaving and that's when she became helpful. Yeah, because we were leaving, not cool. So to the manager or supervisor, if you think I'm making this up? Look at the cameras inside the shop. Zoom in on her demeanor and her body language. Again I'm not one for giving one star reviews but as you know when you mess with a family member and you're there to witness it? There's no way you can let it go. I like the location in Claremont because of how friendly and helpful they are and I think this shop Needs that really bad. I haven't had piercings done in over a decade, and ever since Claire's destroyed my lobes as a child I was determined to get it done right this time! Laughing Buddha was definitely the right choice for me. You can tell that they take pride in being a well-maintained and hygienic practice. It's brightly lit, spacious, and clean inside and they take the time to explain how they extensively sterilize their equipment. The prices were very fair. I paid $150 for 3 ear piercings. Cartilage and lobe piercings are roughly the same price, about $30 not including jewelry. Picking out jewelry wasn't my favorite part. The costs are not displayed so if you're trying to stick to a budget you have to ask for prices repeatedly. I felt a little pressured to just say yes when one sounded cheaper. Prices also don't include the backings which were about $10. I learned afterwards that you actually need to buy multiple backings for getting the piercings resized as they heal. I would have liked to know that upfront. The procedures themselves went well. They're done in doctors office looking exam rooms. Unfortunately you have to go in yourself so if you're nervous that might be something to consider. It might be industry standard, I don't know, but I wasn't expecting to go in myself so it was a bit nerve wracking. They let in someone to observe so there's definitely room for a guest to come in. My piercer, Airick, was a really friendly and experienced guy. They do take walk ins but I really don't recommend it. They seem pretty booked so definitely make an appointment or at least call ahead and see what times are available that day. Even with an appointment, it took a little longer than I expected to be serviced. read more

I've been here 3 times total and every time it's been a win. I took a risk and went to a different place in between piercing and regretted it because my piercing was painful and red. I wonder if they didn't something wrong. I was about to go to urgent care but instead went to Laughing Buddha. Not only did they save my piercing but they were so nice about it! I've brought my teenage daughter for a few piercings for having high honor roll. Now let me say this place has quality jewelry however the prices are not displayed so when I took her to the back to get pierced I realized I was never given a price. Annoyed but it was fine I was going to pay it. I went today to get a nose piercing with my husband. We both wanted one and the girl at the counter had no personality and was really rude. It was like she was encouraging us NOT to get pierced today. I understand we walked in and we were told the piercer was at their hour lunch. Totally fine I have a job I understand how important getting a lunch is. She was acting as if it was an inconvenience for us to be there. I don't think I'll ever be back. read more

Been meaning to make a review but I had kept forgetting, I got my lip pierced here about a year ago and when I got pierced I was pierced with a very small bar. There was no room on the bar for swelling which in turn made my lip swell up incredibly bad. Idk what took me so long to finally leave a review but better late than never. First off let me say, I love these guys! No matter who is here when I've gone, I always get treated with utmost respect. Everyone is super chill and so helpful. I've come here so many times over the last year. I initially came because I thought I was going to lose my daith piercing because it was still oozing and unhappy even after more than a year (not done by Laughing Buddha). I was evaluated in a timely manner and told that I had incorrect jewelry in my piercing. They changed to the appropriate jewelry for my daith and several other piercings. I am happy to report my daith is perfectly healed and beautiful now thanks to the team (and Vega). I've also gotten several piercings here. Vega is literally the best! Got a Conch piercing done by Hope, my 22 year old also got both nostrils done while we were there. Hope was amazing and had as gentle a touch as possible, and a kind demeanor. Kailyn is easy to talk to and had a complete answer for every question we had. Great experience, excellent piercing. Coming back tomorrow to get my septum done by Airick. Hyped! I called the shop to go in to buy a piercing. The girl that answered today really sounded like she was trying to convince me not to go in because their piercer is not in. Because I wanted to buy my piercings today to put them on at home I went to this location anyways. ( I'm excited and desperate to change my piercings ok ). Same bad customer service and negative demeanor in person the whole entire time. I came in happy and with positive attitude but I had a similar experience at the rancho location. Sometimes I wonder is it because I don't have the look I don't know. I asked her nicely if I can put them on in their bathroom ( dumb question I know but I was excited lol )and she said " I'm going to have you not do that for safety we do not allow it " which is fine but it's the delivery of the info right. Let's just say she had an attitude for no reason. There's a difference between professionalism and having such a b attitude. I did actually called her out " this is why I don't come here " she says " it's for safety reasons " I said " no you have a very bad attitude since I spoke to you on the phone" she carelessly said " I'm sorry you feel that way " so I said " no I don't feel this way it's the truth but it is what is it" I decided to walk out and told her " in fact I'm leaving I'm not buying anything ". Why would I put some piercings on my body by someone that has such a negative energy. I also was going to buy 2 pairs too. Therefore, I'm going to my usual spot which is " Old Cucamonga Tattoo" in Rancho Cucamonga. They are so damn nice there & have excellent customer service. Leave that negativity at home next time!
