First time coming to this place. I was not really sure how things worked but the employee helped me out. He was very helpful and patient with me. He explained everything to me. I ordered a few things. And they came out within ten minutes. But that did not deter the taste. Everything I got was delicious. I ordered the median spicy salsa which was delicious. So it's been a whopping 6+ years since my last glowing review of this spot, and I'm glad to say that they are still killing it. I was inspired to write this after discovering that they have Gluten-Free burritos! I had no idea such a thing existed so I decided to try one (the current Holy Mole special). I was skeptical, but lo and behold it was great! The GF wrap doesn't appear to be much different from a standard one, and it actually tastes good! And there's only a $1 upcharge. I am so stoked that I can enjoy burritos again. I also discovered they serve cocktails here -- current choices are: margarita, moscow mule, gin & tonic and old fashioned. So on a nice day, you can plop down on the outdoor patio and enjoy a margarita with some chips & guac. Now I just need a good excuse to try one... My go-to move is to look at their webpage from time to time and see what the weekly special is. I usually end up ordering it and it always satisfies. I've been to laughing planet many times and it's always a reliable spot to get something healthy and tasty. They have bowls, salads, burritos, quesadillas, smoothies, and more. I got the green chile burrito this time and it was pretty good. It was huge and I did really like how packed it was with veggies. Only $9.50 which I think is pretty reasonable given the size. I do think the better thing to get here are their bowls or salads though. If you have dietary restrictions or are vegetarian etc this is a great spot to try out. Indoor and outdoor seating. Best place in Eugene for healthy, tasty food with extensive vegan options. Everything is great but I especially like the Spanky's bowl (w. added spinach and medium salsa) and Veggie bowl (w. extra pickles and tahini dressing). Their cookies are superdelish! Super clean and pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. I love the Blair Street location but based on this past week's meals (5/8 days - don't judge!), this location may be even better. I don't understand how I keep forgetting that Laughing Planet is a viable place to get quick, healthy, fulfilling meals. I did a couple hours of remote work here recently and ordered the tempeh royal, and it was great! I was starving when I got there so it was exactly what I needed. I really do like the food here, when they get it right. The issue at Laughing Planet is their quality control, both in food prep and in order accuracy. I've been coming to their various locations for years, and this maybe was always an issue - but given they've messed something up two of the three times I've gone recently, that's not a great recent record. The first time I ordered the amaizin' Grace quesadilla plus chicken, and got a veggie quesadilla - mostly an issue because the one and only food I can't stand are non crispy mushrooms (flavor is great, I don't dig the slimy texture). Thankfully, I noticed before taking the order home. This time, I ordered the same, and they got the quesadilla right except forgot the chicken (which I definitely paid for). Additionally, the quesadilla got soggy in the four minutes it took to get home. I'll always come back here, but please get your sh together! read more

One of my favorite spots in Eugene. Was so happy to learn they opened a second location on Willamette. I had the Bollywood bowl with no rice. This is my go to dish. Very good! It is chicken breast, steamed broccoli with roasted cauliflower, garlic green beans (my favorite), spinach and yams. It has a real tasty Indian spicy coconut sauce and they top it with these delicious curry roasted chick peas. Yes! Delicious in every aspect and it's healthy. That is a win win. My son had the crunchero quesadilla. Wow! That was amazingness in itself. Jack cheese, black bean hummus, lettuce, avocado crema and they garnish it with cilantro and radish. I almost wanted to trade dishes and eat his! They both were excellent choices and you can really taste each individual flavor in each dish. They used to have a lavendar lemonade to die for but I didn't see it on the menu. Give this place a go if you haven't already. read more

I love Laughing Planet. I have frequented both this location (Willamette) and Blair, and ordered out from the Hillsboro a few times. Some may see the following as a small gripe, but every bowl containing beans comes out closer to soup than burrito fillings. I have ordered more than 20 bowls (thanks, punch cards, for counting!) at this location over the last couple of years, so believe me when I say it is a consistent issue unique to this location. I finally had enough and asked them to re-make the pictured bowl, and they brought out a slightly drier bowl with the sauce on the side, as if that was the main contributor to the problem. I have covered my bases, dropping several written suggestions in the box, asking the manager nicely, and trying to remember to request a more thorough every time I order. Maybe a negative online review will finally grab their attention. I will gladly revise or delete my review when something changes. UPDATE: 4 years later and all their bowls are still soup. This place is going downhill. For starters, you can't find a more COVID-phobic business. It's almost August in 2022 and the whole staff is N95'd up. They have a sign up saying "masks recommended" and literally no one that goes in honors it. And the customers are all cautions Progressives themselves. I ordered a quesadilla and the cashier told me they weren't making them. When I asked why the manager told me it was out of respect for the kitchen staff and the heat. Yes it was pretty hot (earlier in the day) but the thing is, the place is cool as a cucumber and air-conditioned! I went in there for lunch today (I usually have the Zapatista salad with avocado lime dressing which is sublime) but instead I tried the 'special' whose name I forget.. It started with Bimbi... and it had kimchi, baked tofu, jasmine rice, steamed spinach, napa cabbage... and it was the best thing I've tasted in a very long time. Love the service here, (29th & Willamette restaurant in Eugene) The staff are always real friendly and helpful. PLUS the hempseed chocolate cookies are to die for. My favorite place to eat in Eugene. We eat at Laughing Planet about once a year, basically until we forget a decidedly mediocre experience and decide to try it again because it's so close by, but this will have been my last visit. I hope that this was just a really off night for them. We came in well after the dinner rush; there were only 4-5 people there and all had food on the table. No one arrived after us. It thus came as a surprise when our simple order took 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered some sort of mashed potato bowl that sounded warm and hearty, and instead received a bowl heaping with barely lukewarm corn and broccoli from the freezer. Unappetizing to say the least. No salt, pepper, or spices, just half-heated tasteless frozen veggies. Underneath were some mediocre mashed potatoes with a little cheese mixed in. This was hands down the worst meal I've had at a restaurant in Eugene. The bloke's "BBQ" burrito was probably 2-3 stars. The veggies were the same tasteless frozen sort and there was a tiny dollop of BBQ sauce at the bottom of the burrito. Definitely a miss on all counts. read more

I have tried it a couple of different times and both times it left me thinking "meh" its good but i don't think its worth what i spent...I could walk next door to Market of choice and spend less probably for a more flavorful dish. We went to the counter to ask if they would be willing to change it. They said "it doesn't tell us when you make a modification". We showed our online order receipt and they just stared at us. I love Laughing Planet, but I've learned a few things to keep it so I love this place. The food is healthy, fresh, and affordable. On nights when I don't feel like cooking, this is my go-to place. We almost always call our order into the restaurant for take out. Their menu (and nutritional info! Yay!) is online. We get there right when the food is ready, and it's almost always as we ordered it (once they messed it up). The few times we've eaten at the restaurant, we're usually annoyed by the loud kids or the long wait, and sometimes they flat-out forget we ordered something, and it'll sit in their warmer until they notice or we say something. Bottom line: eat food from here, but not at the restaurant. read more

Service has really gone downhill at the South Eug' location. In the last 6 times I've ordered, I got 1 correct order. Yesterday, I ordered a chicken paleo bowl and got pork. Other times they ran out of veg and didn't bother adding anything else, or the time I waited over an hour for a pick order that said, will be ready at 6pm. not sure if they just don't care anymore but I won't be ordering here again. Which is sad because I want to order from these healthy fast food places. They do not have a complaints process, no e-mail, nothing.
