Working at Riverbend Hospital on assignment, I wanted to get something different than the cafeteria food so a new friend and I went to Cafe Yumm at Riverbend and I ordered a regular medium sized Yumm Bowl, and a Smokey Yumm Bowl just to try, so my friend and I split it. The food was great, and if you are not a big meat eater, they have an excellent menu that is simple to read and easy to order from. The prices were reasonable as well. The Smokey Bowl had wonderful smokey flavor, with that tangy Yumm sauce and it turned out to be a fantastic combination. The service at the counter was energy, smiles, and seemed to genuinely aim to please. They made the experience enjoyable, convenient in an atmosphere that was booming with customers. I'm so done with Yumm! What a rip-off. $10 for a small bowl of rice. I've ordered the same thing for years because, when they do it right, it's tasty stuff. Lately, at every location around Eug/Springfield it's the same skimpy prep. I always get a jazzy bowl with extra cilantro. Tonight at Riverbend it consisted of a bowl of rice with a tablespoon of beans, a tablespoon of rotten cilantro (literally slimy,) a few slices of overripe avocado, and the yumm sauce was nearly nonexistent. It's crazy that their prices have been jacked up so high (more than everywhere else) while the service and quality have gotten worse and worse. Shrinkflation is an understatement. I could make my own but now a small jar of yumm sauce at the grocery store costs nearly $10 too. Not going back. read more

This was the most disappointing bowls of soup I've ever been served. The description said hearty russet Potatoes and tillamook cheddar cheese soup. Does that not sound like it would have some Chunks of potato? Poor tasting broth,no way was there any tillamook cheddar in that watery disappointment!! The workers said " that's our soup". The yumm bowls used to come with a fair amount of vegetables and 4-5 slices of avocado in each bowl. Now the bowls are filled with all white rice and only 2 slices of avocado. This restaurant has gone downhill and I don't recommend coming here. read more

Just had some lunch at Cafe Yumm at Riverbend Medical Center. A nice bowl of their fabulous morrocan chickpea soup. Taking my sorry bowl to the bussing tray. Rather full. Stacked it. Heavyset employee came up behind me, grabbed my utensils/ bowl and said, " there is Another place to put them" as she slammed the items in a bussing tub I had not noticed before in the corner. Will return, because one snarky employee doesn't get to damn an entire outfit, but I hope her manager talks to her about customer relations. Good grief read more

They have great food and good service. I enjoy the original bowl or wrap. The sauce is great. Always a place to sit. Their coffee is really good with they had bigger sizes. read more

Not bad... Great alternative to hospital cafeteria and open until 10pm. I like the nori bowl. Sub black sesame for yumm sauce and add soy sauce... The best thing is they let you sub dairy for either carrots/cabbage or extra avocado. Soups are good... Cookies are large and pretty delicious but not cheap... Bring your wallet... But pretty good food and nice employees. read more

Do not waste your time....They mess up orders and are not worth wasting your money go to the hospital cafe

We had a meeting at the hospital for 18 and decided to have our catering from Cafe Yumm. Ordering was easy, delivery to our meeting room made it SUPER easy, they came back and hour later and cleaned up, took their dishes and provided boxes for our leftovers! Oh, and did I mention the food was AWESOME - we ended up fighting over the best Ginger cookies we had ever tasted. Thank you for such a terrific experience! Maggie read more

What I like about this location is that it's a link to the 'norm' that's outside of the hospital. It's a reminder that life exists outside of Riverbend. After two weeks of hanging out in the cardiac unit, it's nice to have something familiar. When I gave birth to my son, I remember being miserable and in pain afterward. When my husband mentioned that there was a cafe yumm there, I hobbled down and sat gleefully with my yumm baby bowl before we were scheduled to be discharged. It was a wonderful thing. read more

I usually love Yum Cafe, so maybe it is just this particular location that sucks. Cashier was very unfriendly and curt. My total was $7.25 I thought I had that exact amount but only saw six $ so instead of making others behind me wait I handed her a 10. Right away I saw the one dollar and a quarter I had been searching for and said "wait, here is the exact amount." She replied that they had "a new rule, that she wasn't allowed to hand back money after she had already accepted it." Really?! How absolutely absurd! A better rule might be to wipe off the tables after customers leave, especially when it's crowded and there are very few places available to sit. Also, access and parking at this location is very poor. read more

This place is okay. The atmosphere is nice and the service is fast and friendly! I like that the food is healthy but it's just not that good. I got the chicken skewer and yum bowl. Both looked delicious! However, the sauce on the chicken was terrible and the chicken was dry. The bowl was okay... But I could make it better myself. Don't bother buying the side of jalapeño salsa...its not spicy at all and taste more like a gross verde type of sauce. All being said, I would give Yum another shot..probably just order something different next time. read more

I work at Riverbend, so I am compelled to eat there despite a wealth of shabby experience. Monday I ordered 3 items to take home, and they got 2 wrong. I ordered a chicken kabob. They gave me small pieces of chicken in a bowl. The bowl of soup was a disaster. They threw in some rice, put in some soup and then some toppings. They definitely have that hot n jazzy yum bowl so I was not disappointed. Well, actually I was disappointed (like always) by the price. And the smallness of the bowl. I sure wish Riverbend had a Chipotle. read more

Buyer beware! Don't buy the take home sauce! Although I love Yumm I have to share with the people how they are changing their policies into a traditional corporate Tycoon who doesn't really care about the customers anymore. I recently purchased a large container of original Yum sauce at the Riverbend location. It separated immediately upon opening at the very next day I tried to return the sauce as it was obviously not consumable. There I was told I would have to contact the manufacturer directly because they took no part in any returns of their Yumm sauce. Apparently this is been happening quite a bit. I tried to explain to them that the grocery store would let me exchange milk that they were selling that was bad and Yumm sauce was their direct item and product to sell but they would not hear anything of it. They have lost a long time customer over a $13 bottle of sauce in some poor customer service skills. I'm sad to see yet another one of my favorite local places go the way of the corporation and lose what we loved about it in the first place. I'll miss you Yumm! Good bye. read more
