If the machines aren't broken they barely work. Your clothes will still stink after a wash and won't be fully dry even at the highest setting. They also added a new electronic payment feature that shows they're stealing from customers; the app says I have the double the time that's actually given (please see pictures included). After washing, I put $3 in 2 dryers and went shopping at Ralphs, believing that when I returned my clothes would be dry and ready to go. When I got back, they were still wet AND cold, so obviously the machines did not work correctly (Yes, I pushed the HIGH HEAT button). I moved them to another machine and put a note to please call me and the reason why in their slot. Fast forward 2 weeks... no call. I called their number and left several messages to call me and the reason why. Fast forward another 10 days, no call. I disagree with the review of bob m below. I do think that owner can upkeep a place , they can prevent abuse of machines by having someone working there to keep an eye out, so that is not an excuse. I have been in clean , machine working laundromats in California. The difference is they have people there should anything break, anyone needing change, or keeping it clean. They also refill their product machines and change machines when they get low. It is about understanding that you have to hire people or maintain things to have a good business or don't own a business. I've used the location in Mission Viejo many times over the last 30 years, and have always been very happy with the services offered. Sometimes there are machines that aren't functioning, and although there are signs of wear and tear inside, everything is always clean and tidy. As a rule, coin-op laundries suffer from the worst kind of customer abuse, and it's a constant struggle to maintain this kind of business in spite of how poorly people treat the equipment and facility. You should be so embarrassed by all the broken machines. Every time I come here, it gets worse and worse. And why aren't you setting up electronic pay yet? Additionally your upkeep of the place is no good. Your soap dispenser is empty and you placed such a restrictive faucet that the flow rate is not useable. I'm not a businessman, but I think I have enough sense to understand that you are not meeting the customers' needs by penny pinching. If you provide the equipment, the revenue stream will come. I've been to this coin laundry mat about 6 times bc of its location. The last time I went there were no less than 5 large capacity washers with "out of service" notices. When I found one without a notice I put in my wash, detergent & required payment (approximately $5 in quarters), pressed start and NOTHING HAPPENED. I opened the door again and shut it. Again nothing. There wasn't anyone on site to assist and the location phone number rang endlessly. I was in a hurry so I found a machine that a patron had just used and tried again with success. When I returned after the wash I spoke to an individual who was there by chance to clean the facility. He advised me to call the emergency number posted. I explained to the woman who answered what had happened. She said she was aware of the issue with WASHER #41 & proceeded to give me instructions to troubleshoot that machine. I informed her not only had I already done what she suggested, I also had finished my wash in another machine and wanted a refund. I was advised to text her my name/address and she would mail me my refund. A week went by - no refund so I texted her again. Again no response. Weeks later I called and that number is no longer in service. DON'T BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. This place is significantly run down with thieving, incompetent management. If you're satisfied with old broken washers, upper level dryers that don't dry enough and current management/owners that haven't invested dime one in minimum upkeep or give even one F about their customers then Launderland is the place for you read more

this is the dirtiest laundry mat i have evee been in. I decided to give it a chance and go back more times and maybe because i go in the afternoon and not right when it opens, but so dirty even saw bugs on the floor and one on top of a closed machine. i dont feel that my clothes will be safe washing here i never see any attendant and was told by a cuatomer that the owner usually comes in right before closing time. there are also homeless people hanging around outside of the laundrymat often sleeping on the bench, though i know the owner can't help that . what the owner can help though is how clean the place is kept and they obviously do not. any review thay says it is is must be right at opening. the only good thing about the place is that you can sit in your cae and watxh the machines when they will be done, instead of having to be inside because it has a great window. i hope this revuew will help for them to clean it more often through the day. it is not only normal laundry dirt as the floors are full of imbedded dirt and tops of machines filthy. the glass of the front window seems mostly clean though read more

I needed to wash my big comforter so I brought it in. It was $7.00 to wash for 24 minutes. 0.29 cents a minute. I have to say I was a little shocked at the prices but I haven't been to a laundromat since 2006 (I'm guessing prices went up, lol)! New floors give this laundromat a nice look and the machines are kept pretty well. I think I saw one washing machine out of order ever. However some customers are downright rude. I've witnessed people occupying five dryers with less than half a load of clothes or they won't let you use a rolling cart because they're holding 3 all for themselves as they are drying their clothes. Ridiculous. It can be extremely claustrophobic mid morning on the weekends with everyone and their kids. The two change machines work. The white washing machines are top loaders; upon inserting your money and choosing the cycle, don't forget to press Start. The larger, silver machines are front loaders and can handle 2, 3, and 4 loads of laundry; it will be labeled how many loads. Time frame runs about 20 minutes. The dryers are on the left and right walls. A row of good single, hard seats inside and metal benches outside. This is my first visit to a laundromat in three decades. I needed to wash a queen-sized blanket that I have tried washing several times in our home washing machine. The home machine doesn't do a good and even though it gets dry after, the smell and cat hair are still there. Launderland is clean and located in a nice neighborhood. OK, no one I know LIKES going to a laundromat, but if you HAVE to use one, this is the place to go! Although I've only been there a couple of times, it's by far the best self-service laundromat I've ever used - and that includes pay laundry areas in apartment/condominium complexes where I've lived in the past. Here's what I've observed on my visits to Launderland: 1) It's in a pretty nice area (a decent-sized Ralph's shopping center with other businesses and restaurants), well lit, and I've not seen any "shady" people loitering around nearby or hitting people up for spare change. 2) There's a good amount of nearby parking. You might not be able to park curbside right in front of the place, but there are LOTS of spaces within a reasonable distance of the doors. 3) The place is EXTREMELY clean and the machines are very well maintained. I have not yet seen a machine that was marked as being out of order. 4) It's air conditioned and very comfortable inside, even when it's warm outside. 5) There's a vending machine where you can buy laundry supplies, and there are quarter dispensers that handle everything from nickles to $20 bills. (When someone buys $10 or $20 in quarters, it reminds me of someone hitting a jackpot on an old-time coin slot machine!) 6) Machine prices are very reasonable. Standard washers run $2 per load, and larger washers go from $3 to $6 per load depending on size. Dryers cost $0.25 for a 6 minute cycle. I've found that it takes a few cycles for my loads to get completely dry, but it hasn't cost me more than $3 to wash and dry a standard load. 7) They have a wide variety of machine sizes, ranging from a standard machine to a 6 load machine that can handle up to 60 pounds of laundry. Need to wash and dry that oversized comforter? They have the machines that can do it! 8) The place is pretty spacious, and they have LOTS of machines, lots of table space for folding clothes, and lots of laundry carts that you can use for hanging your clothes and transporting them back to your car. I've been there when there were 10 or so other people there doing their laundry, and I've not felt crowded and I've not had to wait for anything or for a space to fold my clothes. 9) There's a sink available for use, as well as paper towel dispensers for wiping up spills. 10) For a laundromat, It's got a really nice atmosphere. On my visits, I've seen 20-somethings and senior citizens, I've seen middle-aged men and moms with their kids, I've heard English and Spanish and an Asian language that I didn't recognize... and it didn't matter - everyone was courteous and respectful of one another. It's not a hang out spot, but you don't feel awkward saying hello to a person standing nearby as you fold your laundry. If there's a negative (and it's not been an issue for me), it has a "pay for use" restroom. I have no idea what condition it's in, but based on the rest of the place, I'm sure it's very clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand soap. read more

Today was my first time here. It was clean and close by to me. The regular washers are 2.25 a load that goes for about 22 minutes. The regular dryers are .25 for every 6 minutes but I found that a 1.00 +-.25 is all you'll need depending on the size of the load. There was no wifi but that's not a big problem as you'll be out of there in less than an hour. The owner is friendly and you'll see him cleaning around the laundromat. It would be nice if they made a rule not to eat in the laundromat though because someone was eating food in there today and the smell was pretty strong. It's very easy to just go outside and eat and that would make the experience for everyone a little nicer. read more

As far as self serve laundries go, this is a good one. It has plenty of washers and dryers (both top load and side load). It has lots of carts with bars and hangers. There is a bathroom, lots of counter space, and the price is the same as most places. It is clean and wide open, feeling secure to leave your stuff for a moment (its right next to the Elk's Lodge so I felt like it was even safer). There is parking right in front so no long walks with stuff. And the best thing is that it has huge machines for blankets, drapes, and carpets. Outside there are chairs, and ashtrays, for those whole still smoke. Another good thing is that there are lots of places to go while you are waiting. My favorite is the excellent chili relleno fast food Mexican place 3 doors down. They have great food. Also there is the American Pizza Parlor and sports bar a few doors further, that offers great deals for any one of any age that is on a sports team or in an athletic class. And there is a really big Ralph's. Two odd things happened the first time I was here. 1... I saw possibly the only homeless person in all of Mission Viejo. She was rummaging through the trash in front of Launderland so I gave her five bucks (I give a dollar in Los Angeles, but this was Orange County, I figure it is a lot more expensive to be homeless in OC). 2... I found a one Euro coin on top of my clothes when I took them out of the dryer. It made me feel lucky for the rest of the week. read more

Before I get to the meat of this write up, I just want to acknowledge the belief that reviews on laundromats are about as informative as a six year-old's thoughts on Global Warming. You really shouldn't be reading this. Maybe you're just curious to find out how many degenerates gather at your local laundromat (one, just myself), or if they finally installed Mrs. Pac-Man (no, they haven't), but other than that all you should really care about is whether or not the water bill was paid. Any other reason, then you should probably get your own washer and dryer. What exactly are the criteria that separates a good laundromat from a bad one? What would have to happen for a laundromat to receive only three stars as opposed to a full five? Maybe you wash your clothes only to find out that all the dryers went missing. Or maybe you always find that one of your socks has gone missing after you've finished folding. The point I'm trying to make is this: Is there really much gray-area when it comes to washing your clothes? The place is either going to wash your clothes or it isn't. Because if it isn't, you're probably not even at a laundromat to begin with. Maybe your dumbass walked in to the Pizza Hut next door with garbage bags full of dirty clothes. And do you really want to "check-in" on Yelp that you were at a laundromat? Are you expecting a coupon for a free wash for checking in? And do you really want to announce to your friends that you just spent Saturday afternoon washing your clothes? In a laundromat? What looooser wants that on their resume. Good thing I don't have any friends, because that would be embarrassing. Plain and simple, guys: Launderland is a laundromat. It's an establishment built to wash your clothes because you're probably too cheap to buy a washing machine. And this place of business does what it advertises to do. And it does a decent job at it, too. When you walk in, the atmosphere may seem a bit lifeless and the decor may be drab. And the people will probably appear like zombies and the AC may be down. But don't let meaningless factors scare you away. Folks, there's a reason why this place is called Launder-LAND. Any place that ends with "Land" has definitely got to be worthwhile, right? Think about it: Disney-LAND! New Zea-LAND! Star Wars LAND! Don't believe me? Just walk in and wait for someone to get change for a 20 dollar bill thru the built-in quarter-machine. This place cheats you. Their washing machines cheat you out of time. When you insert the quarters the time displayed is not what you receive. It varies depending on the type of washers you use. The 3-load washers cheat you out of 2 minutes, the smaller washers cheat you out of a minute and a half. In addition, they don't wet your clothes to a level efficient enough to thoroughly clean your clothes Their dryers are also hit and miss. You'll waste a quarter on one only to find that it doesn't heat at all. And they have a 2-minute cooldown! Wtf. Not the most up to date machines. They are kind of old and unpredictable. I needed the big 60 lb washer. I usually put fabric softener in my laundry but the compartment for it is full of water. I asked the attendant and she didn't even know how to work it. I poured the fabric softener in the water anyways. Can't really tell if it worked or not because I'm still drying. Now, I'm drying and this lady has been talking with another lady about how much she hates men and how glad she is she is divorced because she's so independent now...then, I left for a minute and I look back to see her hovering around my clothes when hers was all the way down on the other side. She keeps talking to me and complaining about the machines but she knows the attendant. Kind of strange. I saw her put multiple refund requests in the drop box. She tells me that the machine was out of service so she took someone else's clothes out to put hers in and then replaced there clothes when she is done....so, why the refund?? She is getting a refund for a machine she never even used and furthermore, she seems to know this place so she should know which ones work...strange. And shady. I'm not too happy about this place. It's very packed and there are a lot of large families that come by and use the machines. The machine washes are pricy for the quality of washes that they perform. I mean you gotta put in $6 for 2 loads to wash and another $2 to dry it properly. Plus the driers may stop working after you place money in them! How do I know? It happened to me while I was there! Been here a couple times. I've gone in the weekend in the mornings and it has been pretty quiet. There are a lot of washing machines and dryers. All the machines run on quarters so bring a whole baggie. If not there is a change machine but I have never used it. I believe I heard someone using it the last time I was there. Bathroom you have to pay for. There is a sink. There is vending for washing supplies. Good amount of table space across dryer for folding. Plenty of carts as well. Regular loads are $2 and regular dryer is a quarter for every 15 minutes. Dryer is big and I fit two regular loads and is dry within 30 minutes. I've had to go here a couple times when our washer or dryer went down and it's been very convenient since I can use a couple washers or dryers at a time and not have to wait as long for my load to finish. It's kept very clean, the machines are well maintained and there's a vending machine with soap and fabric softener if you forget it.
