And ugly I paid $60 + tip they didn't even try to shape my nails or file the down even when I asked I even told the guy I'd pay him extra for the shaping he was saying my nail bed was the problem when really he didn't want to shape and file my nails they are so lucky i am even giving them 1 star if I can give them 0 stars on yelp I would've please please and I can not stress this enough do NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE save your money book with your nail tech. If you are in the area, you definitely need to stop and see my girl Laura. She was very patient with me despite me coming last minute and being indecisive about how I wanted my nails. They were already closed and she took me. I got solar nails (dark pink and white) my nail beds are tore up and she was very gentle on my sensitive nails. She even picked a darker shade of pink instead of the clear pink that they usually use to hide my natural nails. She even did me a last minute design and it turned out great. Horrible experience. I waited over an hour for service 2 days ago. When I got home both big toes were filed uneven or cracking. When I went back today the owner was rude. Told me I chipped my own toes. Said she was doing me a "favor" by filing it down. I asked to polish just the big toe that was cracked she was load, rude and refused. I almost had to polish myself. It took the man exactly 1 minute to fix my big toe. I would NEVER. I mean NEVER visit this salon. She even told me I could do my own nails. She didn't need my business. I went to get my nails done Friday after paying $63 and waiting patiently for over a hour for my turn by Sunday my nails are chipping I went back on a Monday the person Alex who did my nails was not there that day I came back on Tuesday Alex told me that I had to wait until he got done with two other customers before he could fix my nails. It takes about 45 mins to a hour to do someone nails. I go back on Wednesday and told that I have to wait and the owner(Laura) tells that I should come back when I have more time to wait..i have paid for my services on Friday and waited...now I have to wait again??..when it's not my fault??...if you want good customer service don't go there!!! read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE CURSING OUT!!!!!! This has been my go-to nail salon for quite some time and they do pretty good work. However, on 5/24/13 when I went in for my regular services, was determined to be a day that I will never return to this nail salon. For the first time a man was providing my services. It was either his first day on the job or he just didn't care about the bad job he was doing. I constantly had to remind him to clip this, clean under here, ge t the polish off my skin please. Well he obviously became frustrated, because he jumped up and started cursing...in a salon full of customers. We all know tha they usually speak in their native language (about us), but he choose to direct every pro fane word towards me in english. As I began to walk out (w/o paying), he got in my face demanding that I pay or they would call the police. I told him to get out my face and to call the police, I would be in my car waiting. As I proceeded to my vehicle anther gentleman followed me, demanding payment and attempting to take a photo of my license tag. Once the officer arrived, who was of their nationality and a former nail tech for 9 years, things got really interesting. Of course no one "remembered" hearing me getting cursed out, only that I walked out with out paying. Luckily the cop (ex nail tech) saw right through the bs and mentioned the botched nail service it looks like I was provided and recommended that I do not pay full price...since I didn't receive full service (I agreed). With the above being said, not once did laura (the owner) get up and see what was going on. I was shocked that she allowed this to go on, without stepping in. If this has taught me nothing else, I've learned to support American owned business. I've been going to this nail salon every since I moved to the area 10 years ago. I have had good and sometimes bad service. But I went in letting them know that I was a picky person and knew how I wanted my nails. I find comfort in letting Laura do my nails and eveytime I am satisfied and no complaints. Yes the salon is quite busy, but if you are in a hurry, don't go. Patience is a virture and they are doing a service to you but you always have the option to go somewhere else. I did for awhile, but I came back. My nails are stronger and grow real fast. I only put the acrylic on my nails and they are beautiful. I've been coming here on and off for a couple years while I searched for somewhere better. I will not be returning. I went here for a polish change for toes. The girl seemed as though she was in a rush from the inception. When another person came in that was getting more done, she seemed to rush my nails even more. She didn't even ask if I wanted an extra coat as the polish was very light. I initially went with the intension of removing gel polish on my hands as well. When I asked the price, I was told $10. TEN dollars just to take off the gel polish!! That is robbery. Needless to say I did not get that done there. I went to Infinity nails on Rockbridge Rd. And paid $5. Laura's nails should be ashamed of themselves for that price. The girl again asked me about my nails when I was doing my toes and I told her no, $10. was too much. She then proceeded to talk to her peers and it appeared as though they were talking about the fact that I did not want to get it done. Poor customer service. I won't be coming back here anymore, I was coming here frequently for the past few months because I really like the way my eyebrows were being done, but after my last experience I won't be going again. Normally this is a pretty good nail salon. However, it seems to only run that way when the owner is in the store. When Laura's around things run smoothly and everyone does a pretty good job. When she's not in like today, short cuts are taken and the service is unsatisfactory. It would be nice if I didn't always have to catch her here in order to get good service. read more

I had been a regular customer of Laura Nails . This week I went in for my regular treatment. I was there for an hour and twice, an employee got into a shouting match with a client. In both cases, the clients had what appeared to be reasonable concerns but the operator, a woman, got frustrated and began yelling at the client, trying to "win" the argument. The second incident occurred about 30 minutes later when a man (I assume the manager) began yelling at another client. The situation escalated to the point where the manager began swearing. At that point, I was so disgusted with the unprofessional behavior, that I just got up and walked out. The fact that this unprofessional, disrespectful behavior occurred twice in one hour is completely unacceptable. A nail salon should provide one with a relaxing, calming experience. I go to a salon to pamper myself, not be subjected to shouting and profanity. I will never return to Laura Nails. read more
