I have been coming here since I was a kid...and ordering it in. I love this place for many reasons so I will do my best to point them all out. They hold a special place in my heart and likely always will. 1) Authentic, I am picky about my Mexican food because I am Mexican. So if I'm not making it myself it needs to be worth my money. After my husband having food poisoning at Chipotle and them taking no responsibility for it, I am sticking with my mom+pop joints. Which leads to 2) Affordable, after coming here my whole life, they have kept their prices reasonable. In spite of whatever financial times I may be experiencing, I can always afford to get a burrito here every now and then. My favorite is the chili relleno burrito wet. Although it is affordable the quality is still amazing. Nice to have a break from dishes every now and then. Yes, you could go pay more for something fancier, but why? 3) Service+small business, let's face it, we need more small business in La and especially those owned by People of Color. They remember my family from coming for so many years (mostly delivery) but they still give us our space. Always humble, attentive, and kind. You wouldn't know the owners from the employees. My cousin reintroduced to me and I got to eat the flautas are pretty amazing the wet ones they kind of taste like enchiladas but they're better. It has cream, quest, beans and rice. Sometimes, you just want the real deal; and this is exactly that! Food was delicious and quick. Service was amazing- the man who I assume is the owner helped me and made sure my special order (no cheese on that one, cheese on this one, sauce on this one but not on the other one etc etc) was perfect... After studying for 3 hours straight I decided to go out and eat with my bf, I was craving Mexican food, like real Mexican food, none of that Taco Bell bs, so I looked for something on Yelp and it lead me here. My bf and I both order the wet burrito, his with meat mine with no meat $1 more for sour cream and guacamole, why not? It was like a 15-20 minute wait, but they gave us chips and dip to keep our stomachs from growling. When the burritos finally came I didn't realize they would be so BIG, they looked so good, we went right to eating I didn't even have a chance to take a picture :( And you know the best part? We came here because it's near my husband's workplace and coworkers have mentioned it. It's tiny and dingy to say the least. It looks like one of the places featured in Food Network's "Restaurant Impossible". I couldn't believe they had about 4 huge containers (like the ones bus boys carry dishes in) filled with tortilla chips. No wonder they were stale! Immediately after the food was delivered I caught an awful smell and found it to be from the tortilla container. It also appeared in my glass after a few sips. Smelled of dirty wet rag. My chicken milanesa (breaded) was overcooked and dry. There were little pink dots throughout, so I stopped eating it. Plus the smell from the cup and tortilla container made it impossible to eat without gagging. My husband felt terrible for bringing me here for dinner. read more

This is a family run establishment with excellent, friendly service and outstanding quality food. Everything uses fresh ingredients and seems to be made from scratch. The albonidigas soup was full of fresh veggies and tiny meatballs, bathed in a perfectly seasoned clear beef broth. The burritos are huge (I get 3 meals out of 1) and mostly meat instead of rice. Had a chicken one last night that was almost all moist, flavorful chicken and probably the best burrito I've had in years (no need to drown it in salsa and hot sauce). Their fish tacos are packed with bite-sized pieces of crispy crusted fish, as are their shrimp tacos. Chips are never greasy, they give you both red and green salsa for take out. It is wonderful to be able to get BOTH great seafood and "regular" Mexican fare in hearty portions. A real gem in the middle of a strip mall. read more
