Came by for a bite to eat while shopping on a Saturday. Early afternoon so it was not very busy. I had a po boy sandwich once years ago here and wanted to rekindle that taste. Ordering is somewhat simple but also difficult. You're asked to order by phone with the QR code but you can't make modifications. A girl in the kitchen came and took our order at the register but then we found out they don't take cash. No big deal but I wanted to use cash. Bar service was excellent. Alek had a warm welcome and good conversation. My salad was the perfect bite I needed while shopping. Other than the strict ordering rules in the kitchen and not being able to customize my food it was a pleasant experience.
Random decision to stop in and get lunch. The food was fine but I think for the price it wasn't. It was an extra $5 for fries even though we ordered a sandwich. An extra $1 for ranch even though we ordered wings. There's no servers, you order on your phone and they bring it out to you. This makes it extremely hard to edit things on your order and ask questions. It was college football Saturday so lots of games on the tvs which was nice.
After a long day walking around the Domain our last stop was to find a place to relax and have a drink before returning home so selected Lavaca Street Bar. From the outside it looked like a sports bar and it was. When you enter you can order food from a full menu of mostly seafood cuisine. We just skipped this and headed straight to the bar where located right in the middle of this establishment. This place has lots of flat screens showing a wide variety of sports entertainment. The beer choices was excellent and enjoyed the one I had. Staff were nice and tended to our needs very well. Fun atmosphere where there was an adult birthday party going on here. Another nice design is very open to the outside even if sitting inside unless way in the back. We enjoyed it and next time pick something off the menu.
For flyrite only: We stopped in here when they first converted over to fly rite and ordered the chicken quesadilla, buffalo chicken sandwich, kale slaw and tots. In my opinion the best things were the tots and the quesadilla. The quesadilla had A LOT of veggies, more than it had chicken. The kale slaw didn't have much flavor and the sandwich was average. Overall, it is a little pricey for the quality and with so many options nearby, we probably won't be back.

Was in the mood for a late night meal and decided to hit the Domain for Lavaca's 30th Anniversary Party to grab a bite to eat. An absolutely phenomenal decision as the food was delicious! Neither of us ordered drinks (I was a little disappointed - didn't see any special anniversary drinks available!) but the food was great. There are several locations for Lavaca Street Bar, but we visited this one because it's closest to my house. As it is also a bar, you will need to bring along an ID because they do card to enter. This location, as with the others, features both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for a closet table because I'm on crutches so mobility and accessibility were a main focus. Be advised, you order at the front and they will bring your food to you, but you cannot order anything from your table. Instead, when you place the order they give you a numbered placard to place on the table of your choice. In perusing through the menu, there were several items that caught my eye, but when I went up to order I noticed a special on blacked tuna tacos for the month...of course this was what I ended up selecting based on the recommendation of the cashier. WOW! My tacos arrived to the table deconstructed as they do not have any suitable corn (gluten free!) tortillas so I couldn't actually eat them as tacos. (This was not the hill I wanted to die on with my celiac disease) It was a beautiful display and they were delivered by the nicest man (super friendly, very accommodating, etc.) but I was quite disappointed that I was unable to enjoy them as tacos because of the tortilla situation. Despite my disappointment in this....they were amazing!!! The seasoning/rub used to blacken the tuna was probably the best I've ever had and I absolutely have to try it on other meats as well. My friend ordered the chicken quesadillas and also loved it, but I think mine was better. We came at a pretty busy time (I mean there was a party going on for goodness sake!) and our food was still on the table in the blink of an eye. I will say that this isn't the place to go if you expect to be waited on hand and foot, because this is not that type of establishment, but the service was stellar and entirely met my expectations. The only reason I'm unable to give a 5 star is because I was unable to enjoy my meal as it was intended and I honestly can't believe they didn't have corn tortillas I could use instead. They did get creative in deconstructing it a d it was still beautiful and delicious, but I really wanted those tacos and I'm sure the tortilla would have changed the flavor as well. Hopefully next time they'll have something suitable as I definitely intend for there to be a next time!
I am a huge fan of Lavaca Street Bar food! However, I write this with the caveat that both times that I have eaten here I may or may not have been in a complete sober state of mind. What I love are the HUGE portions! After a night (or day) of drinking, this place will satisfy! On our most recent outing, I got their chicken fried chicken special. It was definitely the best value on the menu. For $16, I got a huge piece of chicken, fries, side salad, and a side of gumbo. I was very happy. My friend spent $16 on boneless wings and all that he got was a pound of boneless wings. Probably equally filling, but I'm a girl who likes variety and they get you because to order a "side" of fries, which they claim is 1 lb of fries, costs $8. My husband got the shrimp po-boy, which also looked amazing and is big enough to share. The downside is definitely the prices. Because normally their food doesn't come with sides, you'll pay $16 for an entree and then another $10+ for sides. I highly recommend taking a more family style approach when eating here so you can try a variety of foods without breaking the bank because honestly, their portions are very gigantic.
My co-workers and I tried this place out for lunch last week. One ordered the gumbo and that was sooo good. I would go back to order that for myself next time. The other co-worker and I ordered the pork chop which came with slaw and a side of your choice. I chose the collard greens cooked with andouille sausage. You get two pieces of pork chops ... wayyy too much for lunch but at $14, it would be a great deal! The girl at the register was very effective in using both registers. As a customer is paying and finishing their transaction, she's already taking another order. So even if there's a line, it goes really fast. After you order, you take your number and find a seat. Someone wil bring out water if you didn't order one at the register.

It was alright, but not much to rave about. I went up to the bar to order (we sat outside), the bartender was getting ready to pass me by but I asked for service before that happened. I don't expect over the top service from bartenders usually, but it was pretty dry even in my low standard. Considering it was practically dead inside. The drink I wanted was out so I went with my second choice. I usually prefer downtown location, so might just stick with that. read more

I went here looking to switch up from my normal happy hour spot. Boy, that was a big mistake. The service was terrible in my opinion. I walked in and sat myself at the bar with no acknowledgement. Once being seated at the bar for around 8 minutes I HAD TO ask for service.. No drink menu to look over, everything here was a big inconvenience. I felt out of place and none of the bar tenders were personable at all. Not with me at least. After scanning their bar menu I decided to leave because of the service and lack of choice on the menu.. 3 thumbs downs. I do not recommend, although SOME people will find this place to their liking. read more
During our Werewolves of London anniversary weekend we hit up a bunch of places, every trip like this we do, a staycation weekend we try and eat at or visit one new place to us. This time we stopped in at Lavaca and the bar is huge in the middle and there are so many TV's playing so many different teams and sports you have something for everyone. That seems to be a big selling point of theirs. We were getting a sort of late lunch, early dinner and some drinks. Just to get the night going. The reviews seem mixed on the food, I think it comes from another place, I really was not paying that close of attention. Shana got a chicken club or some type of panni sandwich with Fries. I got a pizza, the pizza does take some time but the menu lets you know that. I am fine with extra time when they are upfront about it like this place was. The sandwich was ok, the sourdough bread was super tough according to Shana. The Pizza was way better then I was expecting given the reviews and the fries were also tasty. Nothing was blow you away good but better then I thought it would be going in. The drinks were okay. No drink menu or cocktail options so I got a jack and coke. We did get green tea shots which is a staple of ours and these were the worst I have had, they didn't taste like any green tea shot I have had previously and we get them anywhere we can. The normal drink was fine, the shots were meh. I didn't really interact with the bartenders or staff. When I went to pay our tab, they gave me someone else's check. The guy it belonged was trying to pay at the same time and he realized I got his. He was joking with the bartender who did it, but also "jokingly" asking her why she keeps giving his bill to others and she made some joke comment back so I get the feeling this is a pretty regular thing at least with her. It seems like it would be a cool place to hand out in as a regular or a sports lover. We are neither so we moved on pretty quickly. read more

Definitely a good place to hangout in the Domain, this place serves only pretzels with horrible dips. Don't ever buy their dips and the pretzels are very dry. read more
Y'all!!!! This is honestly my favorite place in all of Austin!! Everything I have tried is incredible, but my absolute favorite is the ribeye nachos and cajun fried corn. The ribeye is charred just right and the nachos are covered with a layer of black beans and cheese that just speaks to the heart. Instant fulfillment! The dirty rice is amazing as is the fried porkchops - and I am from the south so I know my fried y'all! read more
We've popped in here a time or two, and we decided to return upon seeing that they now have Easy Tiger food. The bar has a cool feel to it, with good music and excellent sports on the screens (shout out to the UEFA women's championships). The bartenders Dre, Tommy, and Mandy were not good: they were EXCELLENT. Quick, efficient, and very personable. The happy hour drink specials were solid for the Domain, and the Easy Tiger pretzel met expectations. I have to say, this is the most authentic bar in the Domain. The food is delicious! However is super overpriced. We got a steak poboy, ceviche, and dozen Rockefeller oysters and it was well over $70 with tip... we haven't even ordered drinks yet which is a separate process. Bartenders are usually slow and talkative to people they know and who seem to also work there. The place itself is open, has tons of tvs, and dog friendly which is why we've continued to come back. I just wish we got better service for the prices we're paying. read more
No bad experience just wasn't impressed by the grunginess and casualness of the bartenders. The beers were also pricey for Austin and considering the place isn't anything special. I got boneless wings at Flyrite inside. It was fine. read more
Stopped in after the Sunday lunch/brunch crowd. Lots if tv's for multiple sports events going on. Typical sports bar and good vibes. Plenty of places to sit. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. Even though I felt like he acted overly busy; he fell short for telling about the different beers on tap. Handed us the alcohol menu. Seriously I could have looked at it without out him giving it to us. My friend ordered the sangria and said it was typical but she drank it down lickety split fast. French fries were good just enough crisp and perfect for sharing. read more

Went here completely based on a recommendation from a local, and we were so so glad we did! The atmosphere is definitely a sports bar kind of scene, but it hides the *most* amazing po' boys. We split the mahi mahi (it's a good sized sandwich), and it was soo yummy. I was pleased the bread was more of a pumpernickel than plain white, and the slaw, lettuce, tomato, and pickle perfectly complimented the grilled fish. I wasn't thrilled by the jalapeño hushpuppies, although my friend liked them a lot, and also thought prices were very steep ($19 for a sandwich??), but it was so tasty I'll still go for 4 stars. read more

Its big, its sports-bar-y, and unlike the version on Lavaca downtown, its airy. And its got an excellent selection of beers (and ok cocktails). The prices haven't gotten too up there, and the food, as usual, is a separate thing (you go the window on the side, and pay there). The food is bar-food (the po-boys aren't actually that good, but the buffalo-chicken is spot on). Sooo, make of this what you will. (FWIW, Ramen Jinya next door is really quite good :-) ) read more

Alright, this review is for the food y'all. Boyfriend and I went in today around 1 in the afternoon for lunch. We both have big eyes so we ordered a Buffalo Chicken Po'boy, Blackened Chicken nachos, jalapeño hushpuppies, dirty rice and gumbo. Our total came out to about 50 bucks. Whoops! The Po'boy had a great, thick rye-like bread. It held the big piece of chicken and onions and slaw and greens and pickle together nicely! The slaw wasn't too over-flavorful but had enough taste to add to the overall yumminess of the sandwich. Good amount of Buffalo sauce without drowning everything else. The chicken nachos were huge! You can share 'em and they come with guacamole and pico de gallo. Hushpuppies were fried just right, not too spicy and had enough flavor that they didn't need a dip. They come with a dip that was good too, not sure what it's called though. Dirty rice was cooked just right and dirty! The meat in it was great and the rice wasn't dry. Definitely will get as a side again. They put it in a Togo container in case you don't finish your big entrees! Gumbo came out hot with big pieces of sausage and was nice a lightly spicy. Perfect for the cold weather! Will definitely be back :) read more

I've never been disappointed when I've come here. The lamb chops are so good and I always try to keep an eye out for when their oysters are on sale. I'd usually stop by when I'm out here with my dog and just relaxing on the patio. read more
