If the food, drinks, and service had been worth it, maybe I would. Drinks: Not good at all. We tried ordering the qaimogh chai/sheer chai, and the person at the register initially told us they were sold out. I literally paused and asked, "How?" She then said it might've been a system error and went to check. A minute later she came back and said they actually did have it. For a café that had only been open a few hours, it was strange to almost be "out" of tea and milk already. Considering their website says, "offering tea is the first gesture of welcome", you should probably have the tea available in the first place. The qaimogh itself was disappointing too. It wasn't rich or fully developed in flavor at all. It was thin and underwhelming. From the other reviews regarding drinks, it's clear that the employees aren't well trained in making drinks especially coffee. Food: Honestly embarrassing. Any good food establishment, regardless of culture, serves fresh food with care and pride. A lot of the items on display tasted store bought, stale, cold and reheated, or just not freshly made. The prices they charge makes no sense. It's unclear what is actually baked fresh there because nothing tasted fresh. Their website says, "every cup and every bite are prepared with intention, using the best ingredients available, and always served with care." That was definitely not my experience. Wait Time: This part made no sense. When we arrived, there was only one group of about 4-5 people finishing up and maybe two other customers working on their laptops with their drinks already in hand. Yet it still took at least 25 minutes to get our drinks. It seems like it's the standard to wait at least 25 minutes even if there is not a lot of customers. The food items (which were already sitting on display) came out at the same time. She basically just grabbed them and put them on a plate. That wait time was ridiculous considering nothing seemed freshly prepared. Customer Service: Beyond everything I already mentioned, the service overall was lacking. While we waited, ate, and even as we were leaving, the tables from previous customers still hadn't been cleaned. Atmosphere: The best way I can describe it is "culture presented for a Western audience." It didn't feel warm, inviting, or authentic to me at all. Definitely not the "you'll always feel at home here" vibe they advertise. Especially with customer service (and food) that's cold. I wanted to leave as soon as possible. They were also playing really depressing Ahmad Zahir songs in the background the entire time. People do want to support the business but would appreciate honesty, integrity in their food and drinks, and good customer service. Listing the ingredients is also important. Many places will indicate something along the lines of "house made", "made fresh daily", "cooked from scratch", "from a local baker", "made with ___", etc.

I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk and honestly had to do a double take when I heard the price. I don't mind spending a little extra for a good drink, but this one wasn't worth it. The matcha was pretty underwhelming, and the staff came across as indifferent. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out in a positive way either. Maybe I set the bar too high based on my experience in London, but this visit left me disappointed. Next time I'm in the area, I'll probably save myself the money and head to Philz instead. The Biscoff Cheese Danish was another standout, topped with Biscoff drizzle and a whole Biscoff cookie that made every bite even better. The café also has a large-screen TV and clean, separate men's and women's restrooms, making it comfortable for longer visits. With 3 permanent menu items and 3 seasonal, they have 6 different mocktails style drinks made with N/A liquor and coffee. I tried the "old fashioned" that has bourbon syrup and orange bitters which was very tasty and high quality and to put it in simple terms tasted like a latte with fresh orange zest. The old fashioned was the only one of "the classics" that did not explicitly have a N/A liquor (bourbon syrup as opposed to the "White Russian" which has N/A vodka for example) Prices run high with The Classics each at $9 and the pour over at "MP." When it comes to "the old fashioned" it can be compared to down the road at Inklings with a Carmel Bourbon Latte at $6.
