I've been to Denica's quite a few times since it opened. I genuinely like the food and the variety that they offer; they have options for everyone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have two long play tables for toddlers and small kids to play while waiting for food. They have railroad tracks and little trains on them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As a note, they do have soufflé pancakes, but it even says on the menu that they take roughly 20-25 minutes to make. They also have cookie samples for their delightful cookies while you wait in line to order. My only gripes are that I wish the prices were a little lower. You get a lot of food which helps to justify, but I'd take smaller portions for lower prices. The other thing is that I'm a big hash brown person, but I like them all crispy. The hashbrowns here are more like bricks (see picture) and so the center is just hot potato and not as much of that delightful crisp, which takes away a lot for me. Came in here for my birthday this year and I'm so happy I did. I asked them if they did anything for birthdays but I was told they did not even though I had a handful of people tell me that they did. I had the best French toast with a matcha latte. Highly recommend. You order ahead of time and they bring your food to you. It was a great experience just to try it. We found this place by browsing online. We were so hungry in the area, so it was so convenient. The best decision ever. The food was amazingly delicious! My wife, oldest son and I were in Pleasanton yesterday and were hungry, so we decided to try the Denica's Real Food Kitchen in Pleasanton. We always enjoyed the Dublin location, so we figured we'd check-out the Pleasanton Restaurant this time. It was easy to find and there's more parking at this location. We were greeted warmly and looked over the menu. Once we placed our order, we grabbed our utensils and helped ourselves to the chips and salsa bar. We also poured ourselves some water too. We were here on Mother's Day 2026 brunch and appreciate the fact the line moved quickly, service was friendly and our drinks came out fast. It has plenty of parking. I found a spot pretty close. It was a Sunday so pretty packed . You line up to order your food and then they give you a pager to bring to your table. They will bring out your order when it is done. The menu is pretty big and they have a lot of breakfast stuff . At the counter is all of their baked goods. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, and so much more. They had samples of Ube cookies out yum. Just past the register is a water station and chips and salsa station. Pretty neat. I think they even had some sort of iced tea there to. We were not that hungry so I just Kalua Pig Hash. It's a lot for even one person. I loved it. The pork was cooked to perfection. Just like in Hawaii. I had to get cookies to. A chocolate chip and a walnut oatmeal cookie. Both tasted great. The dinning are was really big at the location and we were able to find a table even though it was packed. I'm a big fan of the food here. As a matter of fact, I've been going to the Dublin location, not too far from this location, for years. The Dublin location is a much smaller footprint so feels like a tiny café compared to this place. I believe the spot might have been a chain restaurant at some point before Denica's took over the space. The people here are great, but know the service style is very similar to their Dublin location in that you wait in line in order at the counter upfront and they bring you the food at your table. It allows you to look at their baked goods in case you want to purchase or sample them. Came here recently to celebrate my brother's birthday with the entire family, which was a pretty large group including kids. Because this was a larger spot, it was easy to accommodate our large group. I ordered the ube pancakes. My nephew who sat next to me ordered the soufflé pancakes. We kinda shared so we can try both haha. I thought both were delicious. Definitely needed the coffee to dilute some of the sweetness. Just a really great place for groups of all sizes. The only thing I've had to wait for was the Soufflé Pancakes, but they mention that it takes a bit longer than the other food to come out and I didn't mind. They were so fluffy and light - perfection. If you don't mind waiting for the pancakes then get em, highly recommended! My go-to is their croissant breakfast sandwich, plus I add some mayo. It can be a hit or miss on a select few items from their menu but I think it just depends on the time of day since I've always enjoyed eating here but there was a time where I went and I didn't really enjoy one of their sandwiches as much. Denica's replaced Red Robin and changed the whole look. The present aesthetic is fresh, bright and welcoming. Service is always wonderful. If you can make it past the cookies and pastries while placing your order, you are very disciplined. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Over the years, I have had pretty much everything. Being a vegetarian, my favorites on the savory side are the chilaquiles (get both red and green salsas) and the Benedicts. On the sweet side, everything is amazing. Like always, you order your food first then giving a buzzer so the waiter can bring your food to your location. I believe the original one is the Castro Valley location, but I have to say the Pleasanton location is the best because it's the newest, biggest, and has a short wait vs the other locations. Denica's has been my go to brunch spot and I bring all out of towners this is location. Each location gives out complimentary chips and salsa, and if you buy regular coffee, it is unlimited and it's self serve. The mochiko chicken with pandan waffles are one of a kind and I also usually get the Kailua pig hash. If you want fusion Hawaiian/Filipino breakfast/brunch this is the spot to go to! I've never thought that I would find such a beautiful brunch place that is local!!! Denica's is a great place to catch up and hang out with some friends! I went with the fam, and we got the King Kamehameha Loco Moco, mochiko chicken and waffle, breakfast carbonara, and the souffle pancakes. The gravy of the King Kamehameha Loco Moco had a really strong flavor, but more on the saltier side. I think the rice was undercooked, as it was kind of hard. But, the meat was really juicy. If gravy was a bit less salty, it would be a great dish. The waffle of the mochiko chicken and waffle did not have a mochi texture at all. Just reagular waffles texture, but it did have a noticable bright green pandan color. The chicken was again, on the saltier side, but it was really tender. Also, the waffles come with a special spicy syrup, which wasn't spicy at all. The breakfast carbonara was the best imo for the entrees. Though the pasta was kind of hard (beyond al dente) I think the carbonara checks off all boxes. The bacon chunks compliment best with the carbonara sauce! Lastly, the souffle pancake really is worth all the hype. I was really surprised at first when I realized that the pancake wasn't a runny texture that all the other souffles I've had. This one had a more bready texture. Though it might not be traditional, it is still SO GOOD! Soft and so creamy with the whipped cream.. chef's kiss! I have to, no doubt, give VERY high marks for the quality of their menu. Whether it's the massive cinnamon rolls, breakfast burritos, chilaquiles or the various items with UBE... You can't go wrong. The quality & flavor is ALWAYS there & always incredibly good. THAT SAID - I feel there is a huge mismatch between portions & most importantly - pricing. I went recently & grabbed a plain non-special order breakfast burrito with no "extras" and it was close to $30.00 after taxes. Their pricing is astronomical. Now, if this were one of those restaurants where you get massive portions, perhaps I wouldn't make a single comment about the pricing. But again, this burrito was a regular, standard-issue breakfast burrito & it was almost $30.00 - for TAKE OUT. Thus, I have elected to not buy breakfast there any longer. Same with my go-to lunch item (loco-moco) let's face it - loco moco is a VERY simple dish. A teriyaki patty, a fried egg or two, scoops of rice & brown gravy. The last loco moco I got was close to $30.00 the "other" loco moco on the menu was something bonkers insane like $30-40 something PLUS dollars. No thanks. Excellent food, excellent people working there. But the prices have steadily crept up toward the stratosphere... Hence I will not order food there any longer, unless I get an invite / we happen to be going. read more

The quality of food is great at Denica's. How's the price is a little steep for the type of food it serves. This is just my opinion others may think differently. Aside from the price, they have free corn chips and salsa. That's nice. The food is served fast and their service is friendly. read more

The Fam and I visited Denica's on a weekday when The Little One didn't have school, and both the Mrs. and I weren't scheduled to work. We decided to try something different from our usual ube or guava pancakes. The special was Kimo's Mac Nut Banana Pancakes. Sure glad we went for the change because they sure were delicious! Well, for me, almost any pancake with Hawaiian flare ranks near the top in my book! Also tried the James's Special Omelette, which was packed with a combination of savory meats and flavor. The Little One had fun with the train set per usual and even met a couple of other kids. Not sure if I mentioned the service before, but although you order in front and grab a number/beeper they still have someone bringing the food out to you promptly. Excellent and efficient service.
