I absolutely adored their outdoor seating area! We were the first people when they opened & they quickly accommodated our table of 7 + a baby. The staff was very kind (and patient) with our rowdy group. We brought pizza in from Ojai Pizza Co, which is allowed, but you just have to make sure to clean up after yourself! Great place to grab a relaxing glass of wine. I was greeted by very friendly staff members and sat indoors with their resident cat "Bruce". We had the flight which was great and more affordable than other flights in the area. Halfway through our tasting one of the staff members asked us if we would like to move outside to a nice shady spot that had just opened up. We jumped on that offer. And I though that was really a great example of above and beyond service. Location is nice because you can go grab small bites or try different bar/wineries all within walking distance. After strolling the shops around downtown my partner and I stumbled across this wine tasting room. You walk down a small flight of stairs directly into a cozy patio with a good amount of tables in the front and additional seating in the back. For the wine tasting it was only $20 and you get to sample about 5 different wines. Such a great deal in my opinion. They let us pick where we wanted to sit, and each time they brought out a new wine for us to try and taste. She was very knowledgeable about the wine, answered all of our questions, and even more. I had a great experience here. I had taken my mom to do wine tasting and first time being in Ojai I'm glad I chose this one. The service was great as well as the wines. The only issue we had was that we kept walking by it and missing the sign to the vineyard. If you aren't familiar with Ojai, in my opinion you can easily miss it. lol it actually goes downstairs from the street so it's not obvious. However when you do arrive, it's a really cute spot full of trees and outdoor seating. We tried a flight and the server broke each of them down. It's a relaxing environment. Tucked away downstairs off the Main Street, we were passing by as two women were on their way out. Me and my two friends were in the middle of discussing where we should do our tasting when one lady said "this one is really cute" then the one behind her said "it was a vibe" so we went down the stairs. You have to wait to be seated. The man who came over led us to a corner area next to the fig tree. He dropped off some menus that we really didn't even need cos we knew we were doing the tasting with no food items since we literally had just eaten. We were lucky that we got seated in the courtyard. The 3 groups we ended up surrounded by were the coolest people. It was like a mini party in our corner. The tasting had 5 servings. One of the employees, Tara, was very knowledgeable (which was great for a science nerd like me), and I loved learning about the winemaking process. As I sampled several wines, I felt like I got a mini crash course in viticulture. I also thought that the price for the tasting was reasonable (and at the time of my visit, the tasting fee was waived if you bought two bottles). I know that wine preferences can be particular to each person's palate, but I thought there wasn't a dud in the bunch. As for ambiance, you may get a welcome from a friendly feline that frequents the shop, and I liked that the shop was tucked away next to a garden path. read more

We sat outside among a beautiful big fig tree and did the wine flight which included 5 wines - 1 white and 4 reds. During our recent Anniversary trip to Ojai we decided to do some wine tasting upon entering town. Majestic Oak had come recommended to me by a couple different parties and I had them down on a small list of places to try while in town and they did not disappoint. While I am not a huge fan of wine and have no clue whether or not I prefer whites or reds this was definitely on the shortlist of places to try while in town to see what stood out for me. You really can't come to Ojai without sampling wine at one of the many wine rooms throughout town and they have numerous to choose from. Majestic Oak is tucked right off the main street and sits down stairs near Libbey Park. The outdoor courtyard is beautiful and quaint and the service from the sommeliers was great throughout. All of the wines were pleasant but the last two we tried were my least favorite and were both dark reds (Triple L D and Syrah) . They both featured tobacco as part of their flavor profile and I am not sure if it was that or something else but they were very potent to me with a strong aftertaste. My favorites overall were the Pinot Gris and the Granache and the Viognier was also quite nice. Overall we were here for just under and hour or so and had a great time just being out and trying something new. We also ended up checking out a neighboring winery as well which I will also review in the coming days. After all was said and done I liked at least one red and one white so I still have no idea what I like best but I definitely enjoyed trying them all out and would definitely come back again the next time we are here to try some more offerings. If you are looking for a qualify winery with some great options and a calm outdoor atmosphere then this may just be the place for you. read more

Merry Christmas!! Wait...not yet. For the last day of this year Thanksgiving weekend, we decide to make good use of it because i have not taken a break since i joined my current company since May. We started off with a late brunch and then we headed to a not so distanced small wine town. Ojai. Right after we arrived, we were intrigued by the relaxing scenery and good selection of wineries. Wish we can try them all out but time was limited. Out of all of them, we picked Majestic. The first thing that caught our eyes was the natural looking outdoor patio. The low hanging lights and the trees give the patio a great feeling. Me and my GF both went for the tasting option. For $20 and we got to taste all 5 of their offering. For wine newbie like us, it is very helpful they listed the flavor characters for each wine on the menu. It was quite fun slowly feel out each wins flavor in our mouth. What a quaint little spot! Very comfortable and intimidate, but small. Probably best for groups no larger than 4. The service is friendly and they did a great job moving people through (almost too fast) Their menu is vey affordable. Bottles are around $40 give or take a few dollars. I'm normally a cab person, but the best one I tried in the tasting was the Merlot. Most of their wines are pretty fruity, not sweet per say, but you really taste the fruit (which I loved!) overall for the price point, i'd say this is a must try if you're in the area! read more

My happy place! You can't visit Ojai without taking some time to do some wine tasting at Majestic Oak. Their outside area is so beautiful and relaxing. I've brought my girlfriends here for a girls day, my husband on a date and myself for some me time. The staff is so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I wanted to venture around this little wine town and see what it had to offer. We came across this place on Yelp and we are so happy we did. We were seated in their cute little outdoor area since we had our dog. They are dog friendly and even offer water and snacks for your fur babies. We opted for the tasting flight and have to say this was one of the best tasting experiences we've had. Our kind server came out with 2 glasses and poured the first tasting. She gave a great background of each wine and what flavors and aromas we would smell and taste. We brought our own snacks (cheese and crackers) to pair with our tasting. We had to come home with 2 bottles of their Pinot Noir as we truly enjoyed the flavors of this wine. Since we purchased two bottles, we were comped one tasting.
