This was the fastest and most expensive manicure I have ever had. WOW that was a shock. My nails had no polish on them, filing and cuticle removal took seconds. I had 4 quick coats of polish and and a minimal amount of skin cream applied. This was not a good experience and I paid $40. 00 For a 20 minute procedure. I was questioned about a pedicure more than 3 times. I was the only customer in the whole salon. The salon is beautiful, but really! They need to rethink their business strategy. Review Update: after my below 3 star review turns out the owner himself reached out and wanted to make my experience right. LONG story short, they certainly did a very good job redeeming themselves. Not only were they super nice about everything but this visit was totally comped and Chanel did my nails this time and they look bomb. See the difference this visits nail color was a light brownish color Chanel will be doing my nails from now on :) Old Review: So I got a basic Pedicure and gel manicure that totaled up to $57 (without tip) I was able to walk right in with no problems. (Maybe because of the weather today they were slow?) everyone was very nice. And the place is clean. 1st was my pedicure. I really hate getting pedicures anyway because I don't like anyone touching my feet but I love the end results of a pedicure so I suffer through it. This one wasn't so bad, my guy was very nice and I was even offered a refreshment. The massage lasted longer than I'd like but I know I'm an anomaly when it comes to that. It did feel kinda nice so for someone who enjoys massages it would probably feel like heaven. Super simple and easy my toes came out cute! Then my manicure. Started out nice I had the same guy. He kept telling me it was his first day and how he was nervous. Which was fine but then I felt a small sting on my finger and noticed he must've been too rough with my cuticles (I didn't feel it) and I started bleeding. I asked if I should go wash my hands but he said he would take care of it. He was very apologetic and I truly didn't mind that much because it didn't hurt. But still I felt I should wash my hands or he should've cleaned it up more before proceeding. I did like that they do not charge for multiple colors! That was the best part. But overall when I looked down at my nails, they just look a bit thick and messy? Nothing like my pedicure. He did clean up my finger and was very careful on out but I still bled. THEN when I went to check out, he followed me to the cash register and stayed with me as I paid. Maybe expecting a tip??? I added a tip on the receipt but I was so thrown off by him just being there with me looking at me that I wrote my total down wrong and they will now either go with a $4 tip or an $8 tip. Whatever. I have been to so many Nail salons in this area and have had bad experiences. Going for a lower price to save a few bucks has ruined my nails. Rachael or Sophie at Lavish nails are two top nail techs. They are gentle and know what they are doing. Accurate, and I have never had an issue with their services. Lavish in general is a nice environment and are open on Sundays. 5 Star in my opinion, not wandering from them again. read more

Had me wait 30 mins until someone would be available at 2 pm then at 1:58 comes over and says " someone got a call and has to go home." Don't think that was true. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. this place is a absolutely trash and do not know how to treat their customers. They did not clean our feet correctly & claimed our feet did not need specific cleaning. But customers are always right ? Not in their book. then they proceeded to say that they do not specialize in long nails which was fine, we understood. So my mother asked for a simple French tip which was absolutely horrible to the point where we made her take it off. the owner forced my mother to pay for something she did not like especially seeing what terrible job was done & called the cops on me because she asked me to get my ID which was in the car & said I refused to pay and walked out when she was 100% aware that I was getting my ID out of the car. This is probably the best nail salon I've been to in a long time. I had an appointment with my mother and grandmother this past Tuesday. They both got pedis and I got a mani. The lounge itself is very clean and smelled absolutely amazing. My mom had never gotten a pedicure before and Ester did an amazing job. Sara did my grandmother's pedi and she was also very happy. I was fortunate enough to have Liam do my french gel manicure and I am so beyond thrilled. He shaped my nails exactly the way I like and there a clean line for the french. Also, with previous gel manicures at a different salon, there has been a large bump where the french tip is but the top coat on my manicure is completely smooth. The only reason why I subtracted a star is because even though we made an appointment, there were a few walk-ins and the staff seemed preoccupied and we didn't receive their full attention. read more

First time. I'm giving 5 stars for one main reason. Joseph. This place is lucky to have him. Joseph is a very nice and a very talented individual. When Joseph left his previous employer, I was so lost. No one even came near what he did for me and for my nails. He also did my daughter's nails. I was ready to give up acrylic nails because no one can do a good job with designs for me. Thank God I found Joseph again. He takes his time, he's very careful and always makes sure that his customers are happy. As far as the actual shop, the staff seemed pleasant and it's big and clean. Prices are reasonable. They offer water, soda or wine no matter what service you get. Only one thing. The plastic barrier between the customer and the technician. Why? I kept on hitting it and I was so worried that it would mess up my nails. I don't think it's necessary. If a customer is that scared, I would think they would stay home or wear a mask. I called at the beginning of the week to schedule an appt for a dip manicure. Scheduled it. I was told it was scheduled. I always call the day of my appointments to confirm and they had no confirmation of me. So I "rebooked" my appointment for the same day. This was the first time I'd ever be going to this venue. I walk in to a place I'd never been and instead of being greeted with open arms, it was "you're extremely early- sit over there and pick out your color." I said "I don't know where to pick my color from" and I was shoved a basket. There was no kindness. I couldn't even excuse myself from the venue because there was nobody to tell. Because of the location, this place is always packed. It explains a lot why I was treated the was I was - they have more business than they can handle. I received a gel mani and regular pedi. The pedi was okay - they could have done better with the cuticles and dry skin, but the polish job was clean, so I was satisfied. The gel mani was not as clean. The polish job was very thick and edges were not very even. There was even a tiny, tiny bubble on one of my nails and the cuticles were not given attention. With a small toddler at home, I don't have a lot of time for redos or complaining. I thought it was just okay - not the best but it would get me through a couple of social events I had that week. It was certainly better than keeping the old gel on my nails that was growing out. I'm just not one of those people who makes a fuss unless something is really, really bad. In the approximately 15 years I've been getting my nails done, I may have asked for a correction only one or two times prior to this. Just a couple days in, the mani began to chip on the edges where polish was applied either too close to the skin or a little on the skin at places. By day four, it was just plain sloppy and couldn't be ignored, and I would have to call the salon about a dreaded redo and mourned the lost time I would have to spend getting it corrected. The person who answered the phone was polite and told me to come back in. When I came in and showed a young lady my nails and she agreed to a redo. She told me to go to the wall to select a color. I decided to go with a color very similar to the sloppy mani, but not the exact same, since I thought maybe it was the thick matte polish in the bottle that contributed to the bad job. Oh man, was I in for it. The girl who was doing the redo was very pissed and loud causing a small scene. I saw other customers looking at me. "This is not the same color! It's a completely different color! Normally it has to be the same color. If it's a different color, I have to charge you, but I'll do it for you this time! But next time, I have to charge you." I was completely taken aback. She clearly had a lot of self-righteous anger thinking I was trying to cheat her or something. I told her she clearly did not want to do my nails and a refund would be fine. Just finish the soak off and subtract that from the refund or I would go with the old color. I was just concerned the old polish might be part of the problem. But "No, no, no, no. I said I would do this for you, and I will do your nails this time!" It was either that or walk out with half a soak off with ragged polish on my nails. She was clearly pissed, and I just had to sit there while she finished. I put in my earphones and listened to an audio book. She asked me something a few minutes later about the polish. I didn't didn't quite hear her, so she repeated herself loudly and as if she was super annoyed. So awkward and so upsetting, especially when I was the wronged party having to come back and get something corrected. Of course, I'm not going back - ever. Bottom line - this place is super busy and your nail job will be hit or miss. When they miss, it's a horrendous experience. read more

Went for dip powder and a pedicure, the woman doing the pedicure immediately gave me an attitude when I asked where the bathroom was. When she finished painting my toes there was nail polish all over my skin and I asked her to fix it, she then applied more nail polish. I tried again to ask her to fix it and she got annoyed and grabbed someone from the front desk and she took over while the original woman yelled in foreign language right next to me. I told her if it was an issue I could just leave and she claimed she was just talking about the top coat. Then the second woman again started adding more polish and it obviously made it worse, so she took off the nail polish on one toe only. She then put it back on (coats on the same nail) and said she wait to do the top coat. I pointed out there was still polish on my skin and she said she'd clean it up later. When she finally remembered that I was waiting she put on the topcoat and told me I was done. I then told her again that the polish was a mess, it was all over my skin, which is when she started tugging at my skin and telling me "look it's not on your skin." It was I On my skin and in the creases of my nail. She then called someone else over to try to clean it up while she spoke in a foreign language and audibly laughed. The woman again attempted to "clean it up" and said it was good now. It made no difference except now there were multiple dents on my big toe from her touching it. They then got someone else from the back who again tried to "clean it up" and said it was fine, even when I pointed out the dents. They said they could start over (keep in mind I've been there over 2.5 hours at this point). And I said no, they should have started over in the first place as it clearly wasn't coming off my skin. They then told me no refunds, I can come back at a later date. I do not have this much free time to waste on getting my nails done, I literally could have done a better job myself but decided to splurge on this mess. They eventually agreed to give me a partial refund and tried to hand me a bunch of gift cards instead. I told them I paid with money, not gift cards so then they finally gave me back the partial payment. Then woman at the front then started mumbling something about "customers like you." They initially charged me $40 for this pedicure that my 8 year old niece could have done better and then tried to fight me saying it was perfect. Also notice the messy cuticles they half clipped left all over. And while they were trying to figure out how to paint someone's toes, they had left my fingers wrapped tight in cotton soaked acetone, they started to hurt after 1.5 hours so I finally took it off myself, my fingers are still shriveled up and wrinkled over 1 hour after I took it off. read more

I called to make an appt and they had no problem getting me in at the time I needed on the same day. I had Tai who was very quick and did exactly as I asked. Once you're greeted, you're offered a drink from the full liquor bar while you wait; I get the signature drink, the Bejing Belini. The nail polish selection is unreal - an entire wall chalked full of well-known brands, like ZOYA, CND, Essie, and OPI. On the other side of the salon, you're able to select high-end shades at no extra cost, including Dior, Chanel, NARS, and Butter London. The staff is friendly and welcoming; they treat each client as an individual. The many regulars enjoying conversations together make it obvious that this is the place to be. Vanessa is the best nail technician I've *ever* had - funny and kind. I'm particular about nail shape, and luckily she's attentive to detail. I get dip nails done by her and get too many compliments to count. When I go to sit for my pedicure, the massage chairs actually work! I know it's not revolutionary, but you'll be surprised how many places have equipment that doesn't work. However, the most important part of my checklist is sanitation, SANITATION! There's a new plastic liner for every client, equipment is autoclaved, and you're also given a new nail file and buffing block to take home. The technicians/owners, Chanel and Lee, give excellent pedicures and nail services too. All in all, this is the nail salon you want to go to. Sadly, I live in Pinellas County, so I can't go as often as I would like. When I make the drive over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Lavish is usually the first place I stop at. I am from Georgia and flew into Sarasota right before this location closed. Of course I found them on Yelp because I was looking for a clean and well-reviewed salon. I called them to see if I can still come in and they were very friendly and said yes! The shop is very well decorated with white and gray decor and was very clean, even in the evening. They sanitize their equipment and use the disposable plastic bags for every customer. When a salon offers you something to drink, it shows that they care, and this salon did just that. The ladies are super friendly and attentive! It was truly a great experience for someone who had just landed in the city and wanted the best service one could get.
