The woman who did my nails today was wonderful. I cannot complain about her at all! What I can complain about is the following; The remote controls on every chair are so worn you cannot see what each button is for. Only some of the buttons on the remotes work. The chairs are all very worn and falling apart. The bathroom is dirty. The employees seem over worked, under paid and worn out. It was my first time at the Organic Nail Bar in Sarasota utc mall. I went with my friend to get our nails done for prom night, I got my nails done by the guy owner, he was super rude, he got mad at me and my friend when we called him out on things he needed to fix, he did a terrible job on my nails and the rhinestones were super crooked, and I had to correct him and ask him to fix my nails several times, there is a lot of air bubbles everywhere on my nails. My nails hurts whenever I touched or move them a slight bit. He didn't have his mask on the whole time and he was coughing the whole time, he ended up coughing on my hand. I too wish I had paid attention to the reviews before going in. I had my nails done by the owner/manager male up at the front. He acted like he was so annoyed to be there and exhibited a hostile & aggressive attitude for the entire service. He aggressively cut and popped off two of my nails; ripping my natural nail bed. It still hurts hours later. The shaping was poor. He never asked what I wanted or if I was satisfied. I went with my sister and my mom, we were getting our toes done for a wedding and in the middle of the pedicure the women doing my sisters toes called my mom old, then calls me fat. I'm not sure why this place has so many bad reviews! I go here regularly and every time I have a great experience. The ladies here are always super sweet and accommodating and do a great job every time. This is such an insanely busy mall and this salon is doing their best to accommodate for everyone! As a local and a regular I can understand them making a few mistakes with how insane the traffic is coming in and out of there. Came in for a mani and pedi. The pedi was fine, but the manicure was not. The guy who did it handled my nails roughly and cut me with the dremel due to using too much pressure. He was more interested in his phone than doing my nails. I also have a few micro cuts on my fingers (skin) from how rough he was and I'm hoping there won't be any sort of infection. I was getting my nails done here for about a year. I loved it at first, but it started becoming very inconsistent. Sometimes my gel/acrylic fill would look amazing & take a reasonable amount of time, & others they would look absolutely horrible & take 2+ hours to do. I am also a licensed cosmetologist so I am very familiar with state board sanitization & this establishment is VERY unsanitary. They would use implements on me such as nippers & nail files & not properly sanitize the non porous items (which can be used multiple times) or throw porous items away after use (can only be used on one individual), & just stick them right back in their drawer. I first visited on a whim since I was at the mall waiting for a jewelry repair. The gel manicure I received was fabulous! And it lasted longer than any gel I had before. Despite the fact this location was 10 miles from my home and my regular salon literally less than a mile, I thought I had found my new salon. I went back for a gel mani/pedi that I was satisfied with. Yesterday I made an appointment for a gel mani and received what was probably the worst in my life. Polish was uneven and did not go to the edges of the nails. My nails were not filed evenly. Even the process was different . No acetone on cotton wrapped in foil to remove old polish...just a layer of some clear polish then the electric sander. No washing of my hands before beginning the gel polish process. I was flabbergasted. I guess unless you have a dedicated technician with whom you've developed a relationship it's pot luck and you may not be satisfied. I'll save my gas. read more

I left feeling super grossed out. I usually get my nails done by appointment by Nails by Christine on Palmer and Cattlemen, but I was in a rush and this was convenient so I thought why not? They are always super crowded. I just got a gel manicure and my mom got a regular manicure. We noticed other had champagne glasses and we were excited so we asked if we would get drinks and they said yes. Never made an offer or effort to give us one. The nail tech cut my moms cuticles down until She was bleeding. She was being super rough and my mom was almost crying! It was my turn, I requested two colors for gel, she brought back two wrong colors. I had to ask if she had the correct colors and it took her about 10 minutes to find them. It's like she was just trying to turn and churn clients. Super fast and rough just trying to get through as many people as she can. Really, though, the WORST part was the cleanliness - it was absolutely disgusting. First, she did not sanitize the tools after she used them on my mom. She picked out the cuticle/skin and then used it on me... nasty. How many times had she used it since it was cleaned last? She used the same rag on my to wipe my hands and the tools that she had used before.. I could feel the stiffness of the rag from previous skin / polish / nail clippings. She used the same file that had clearly been used numerous time before me (illegal - they are supposed to use a new filer on each customer). I asked if I could have the wax hand dip. She walked me over to the wax bar, grabbed a balled up pile of wax that was set there from another client, and put it back into the wax melter.... that means every single persons dead skin cells just keep getting remelted and stuck onto someone else. So GROSS! This place should seriously get shut down for breaking so many health violations. Go to Nails by Christine.. make an appointment. The difference in quality is unbelievable. All the staff rush through their guests, as the salon is always busy. My lady did not understand anything I asked her and had to get a fellow employee to answer my questions. She acted pissed off when I asked what the difference between two pedicures was and waved her hand at me. She dug into the corners of my nail and when I flinched in pain, she didn't apologize or do anything differently and just continued stabbing into the corners. She talked bad about me to her fellow employee when I told her I did not want the gel polish option. She forgot the top coat on both my toes and my hands and just moved on to the next guest. Several people, myself included, had to go the ATM machine at their location. I ended up paying an extra $5 to get cash to pay for a pedicure. I had to have 4 nails taken off and redone because the last salon I went to made those 4 shorter than the rest of my nails. I wanted loner nails. The guy said it wouldn't be easy (I think he may have been joking, I'm not sure) but he did it pretty fast, leaving me wishing I had found this salon to begin with because I absolutely love my nails. I've been there on plenty of occasions because of the convenience of the location. Most of the visits are for pedicures because the last time I did both the tech rushed and I had (my natural) nails breaking and chipping the next day (at a wedding, no less). It was embarrassing trying to explain to my friends that I'd had my nails professionally done the night before because it definitely didn't look like it (didn't even apply a topcoat). It was so bad that I was going to come in and get a refund but reading how they respond to refund requests, I'm glad I didn't. The techs that I have dealt with have been friendly, but I have observed some situations similar to the ones in the horrible reviews. Cleanliness is definitely a concern... the chairs are awful (I'm sure they bring in enough $ for upgrades/replacements) and I don't even bother with the massage feature because of the condition of the remotes. The place where you sit and dry your nails had a nice layer of dust on top that I got to stare at while I sat there. If you notice on this page it says "unclaimed" because they don't care about these reviews. They care about the volume of customers and customer overturn and every time I pass by, they are full.
