I got my nails dipped for the first time. I was there on May 11th, it's been a week and a couple days and my nails are chipping. This are suppose to last for multiple weeks and mine has lasted a full week. My daughter also got her nails painted on the 11th and the night of, they just peeled right off. I don't think I would even give this place one star. I have been getting my nails done for a very long time and this is by far the worst place I have ever been to. First of all it is not even that clean in there. Second off it is 100° in there. I knew it was a bad idea when I was the only customer in there. The guy completely filed my toe nails crooked. The polish is on my skin. Okay now let's get to the awful nails, I got dip and the lady barley took her time to shape my nails, there is polish all over my skin and not to mention all under my nail is a thick coat of the powder and a terrible gross feeling. Worst "manicure" ever. I guess I should have walked out when I was the only customer there! The place is not clean, it's super hot in there, and the staff was not helpful at all. The swatches of nail colors were disorganized, broken and had a piece of hair on them. The man working on my nails cut my cuticle and never even acknowledged the fact that I was bleeding. He missed the sides of my nails, painted my skin, didn't go to the edge and left globs on my nails. I pointed out the poor workmanship and he "fixed" it. Honestly, I just wanted to go home and soak my bleeding finger in alcohol because I was disgusted and disappointed that I sat through and paid for such poor quality. I will absolutely never go back. Its worth the 25 minute drive to go to the Promenade nail salon. I can't wait to get this polish off my hands. read more

Just NO!!! I can't believe this place still exists. Tonight, I received THE WORST no chip manicure in my entire life! I'm so disappointed, the guy who did my nails rushed me and was very careless, leaving bubbles on the nail bed and stains on my skin. Not sure if his vision was going bad but he couldn't paint it to cover the entire nail bed so now it looks like I already have outgrowth on the cuticle area. It has been quite a struggle finding a quality and professional nail salon in the area. I have tried so many and thought this would might be an ok place for me. Although the location is not very appealing to the eye, Jojo, the owner, is very good at her work. The location is also convenient for me to get to. I have been going here for 6 months now for my nails and pedicures. I even started going to her for my lashes. Both her nail work and lash work are amazing. So what's the problem you may be asking? Well they are shady and rude as hell. There have been some slick incidents that I tried to overlook simply because I did not have the energy to look for a new salon. I'm so upset with myself for putting up with such poor discriminative unsanitary service for so long. Because there was so many negatives, I will bullet the why you shouldn't do business here: -They are extremely unsanitary. Jojo doesn't wash her hands before doing lashes. She even stops to text between filling lashes. Absolutely disgusting when you are touching someone's face and eyes! -They try to bully you into using their fee impacting ATM machine because the don't want to pay the merchant fees. -If you don't ask for a breakdown for multiple services, they try to inflate the price and act like it was an adding mistake. -Jojo has asked some offensive questions that were extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. "Is your hair real? How much did your wedding ring cost?" -I was going somewhere else for my lashes, Jojo convinced me to come to her. She told me lash fills were $40. Well when I got my first fill, it was $50. She said I heard her wrong (I know I didn't, but let it go). Then the price jumped up to $60. She said she was using different lashes that would last longer. Again, her work is very good. I got a ton of compliments so I went with it. My last fill she tried to charge me $70. After arguing with her for 5 mins about it, she admitted to making a mistake. -They offer coupons if you pay cash. Signs posted everywhere, but they never give you coupons. -Appointment times mean nothing. Always late when no one is in there. Unfortunately, back to the drawing board for a nail salon for me. NEVER EVER again will I step foot into this establishment. You should not either. read more

I call ahead to schedule an appointment and have never had to wait more than 5 min when I have done this. The few times I have done walk in without an appointment there can be a bit of a wait. I had a gel full set put on and within a week of them being put on they were breaking off like paper. I had them fix them because they charged me $50 for a fill and they look worse than ever. You are better off doing your own nails at home. 1) Horrible customer service when you walk in "You don't want a manicure and pedicure? You only want a pedicure? *DIRTY LOOK* SIGH, FINE". 2) Reeked of someone's microwave lunch. 3) Annoyed nail techs who did a crummy job when they found out that NO we aren't getting manicures and NO we don't want speical treatments and NO we don't eyebrow waxes. 4) Broken chair and questionable pedicure basin... I saw a half-hearted cleaning job of it when I left. 5) Broken nail dryer that only had cold air (and a broken chair to sit in while you wait) 6) Random child (belonged to one of the nail techs) was hanging out in the place...slumped on a sofa staring and bored the entire time. BONUS: The nail tech put my coat on the ground when I went to the nail dryer so it was covered in dirt off the floor. AVOID this place at all costs. read more

Horrible experience! DO NOT GO! My chair was broken so I had to sit completely upright during my pedicure. The water was warm and more on the cooler side. I asked if they could make it hotter and they said no because they have been so busy they don't have much hot water. My girlfriend's bowl almost overflowed until we told them it was about to spill over. The person doing my pedicure started my pedicure and then left for about 15 minutes. Luckily I was there with my girlfriends and was talking to them. But, although she left and my girlfriends and I started the same time I ended up finishing before them!!!! The manicure was awful too. They were extremely rude. She asked if I would like to do my eyebrows. I said no thank you and she said you look in mirror? The place was not clean and almost everyone was rude. They whispered under their breaths when I pointed out a rough spot on my nails!!!!! They did give my girlfriend $3 back for paying cash. I get my nails done every 2 weeks at Zeda in Bolingbrook and I went to this place to hang with my girls who live in Plainfield. I will never go there again!!! read more

I've seen not so good reviews about this nail salon and about Jojo. I don't expect that everyone is going to have a great experience every establishment they visit, but some of the things I read are not in line with what I have consistently experienced here and with Jojo. Over the years I have taken advantage of many of their services--nails, pedicure, eyebrow waxing, eyelashes (both single and individual), and facial. Jojo has never been unprofessional, inappropriate, offensive, and definitely not unsanitary. Jojo and Bryan take pride in their work and shop and in making their customers happy with great service. I've also been serviced by a few of the other techs in the shop and they have not acted in any of those ways either. I've also never had any issues with being given a cost and then it changing by the end of the appointment nor have I ever been bullied into using the ATM machine. However, if you want a breakdown of your charges I would definitely ask for it. They have recently made improvements in décor and the pedicure stations, it is looking really nice. All that being said, do not stay away based on someone else's opinion, come and check it out for yourself and form your own opinion. read more

I had a great experience when I went to get a pedicure with my MOMs Club a couple months ago. So I made an appointment for myself, my mom, aunt and 2 sisters to get pedicures. UGH!!! It was horrible! We got there early, but were very rushed before and during the pedicures. They didn't have enough people, so my sisters had to wait and their water got cold. My sister then got her eyebrows waxed and the girl that did it was very rough and didn't even wait a little before putting the hot wax on her eyebrow. The girl then asked if she wanted her lip waxed and before my sister could say NO, the girl put HOT wax on her lip and BURNED my sister! On their website they advertised 10% off all services for groups of 5 or more. We had 5 but didn't get the discount. Wonderful salon. Very clean and very nice techs. Everyone says hello. No high pressure sales. They always offer you something to drink. The iced coffee is EXCELLENT! They do a great job. NEVER GO HERE unless you want all your nails to break off and not stay on for more than a day. Worst experience ever i had a man do my nails, not sure of his name but he was on the left side last chair in the row. I'm going to deny this charge because my nails were that AWFUL. I went back to have them fix one because it fell off within 8 hours, mind you these are acrylics and should last minimum 2 weeks. They fixed the nail and were very rude about it but i have lost 3 more nails since then and the shape they gave me looks like a mess of coffin almond and square all thrown into one. Bottom line - I came in for a pedicure, and left with an infection on my big toe. Uggh. I'm a new mom who doesn't get much time away from baby, and on my birthday I was treated to a mani/pedi at Nail Care. The massage chair for the pedicure was broken. The nail tech seemed annoyed and distracted, and rushed through what should have been a relaxing, enjoyable time for me. The towels used looked worn and dirty, which should have been my cue to high-tail out of there. Needless to say, my pedicure resulted in obtaining an infection which I've had to go to the doctor for, and be treated with antibiotics. Disgusting and ridiculous. read more

I'm a little torn. I went here several times when I lived in Plainfield, and I've had both good and bad experiences. Nails were done correctly about half the time. The 2 or 3 times I asked for a design, I was told it either couldn't be done, or I left with a design that looked like it was attempted by an 11 year old in art class. I've been getting my nails done every 2-3 weeks for at least 15 years and I just moved into the area and thought to try this place out as it's right around the corner from my house. The girl when I walked in said it would be just a few minutes so I should pick out my color.. I did and then waiting about another 35 minutes and then it was my turn. I have been getting no chip for months so I like to give my nails a break every now and then so i got a regular manicure. They were trying to uncharge me the whole time and I didn't want a no chip. The guy who did my nails did not take his time, I would say worst manicure I have ever gotten. He didn't touch my cuticles and painted right over them. I typically do no write reviews; however, I was absolutely disgusted with this salon. I went to this salon almost a year ago and was pleased with the pink and white I received and pedicure was very relaxing and turned out nice. I no longer have artificial nails so I came in for a manicure and pedicure. I asked if they had any specials for getting both and the nail tech said yes however it was just the price of the manicure and pedicure added together. I have never had such a horrible experience. I am pregnant so I can not have the bott of my feet massaged. I told the nail tech this before he started and of course as soon as he got to the massage part he started to put a ton of pressure on the bottom of my feet. I jumped back surprised that he didn't listen and said I'm pregnant so I can't have the bottoms massaged. He looked at my like I was crazy and said oh you'll be fine. I proceeded to tell him again to please not massage the bottoms of my feet. He was so rough on my cuticles that both my fingers and toes bleed. It was not relaxing at all. I jumped the one time he jabbed my finger and he said oh tickles and I said no your hurting me. When I looked down at my toes the one baby toe wasn't painted. I pointed that out to him and he said oh you don't really have a nail on that toe. I asked him to please paint it as it looked silly to have one toe without nail polish. I also got my eyebrows waxed. They did turn out nice however I was disgusted to see that they put the same stick back in the wax after they put in on my skin and didn't throw it away after they were done. Stay away very far away.
