Before I ever choose a vendor, I always look at yelp reviews and photos to make sure that their work has quality and does it for a competitive price and I found both in Katie. I drive across the bay just to see her and wake up extra early on Saturday and Sunday mornings just to make an appointment - which btw is fine since I just sleep during my appointments. I'm writing this review now over a month since I got my lashes done by Katie and they ARE STILL fluffy and beautiful. She is THE BEST in the Bay Area hands down. Sadly I have to change my review for this place. I had an 11:30 appt. and she text me at 10:56 the day of, to say that she can't accommodate me because she was leaving early on her vacation. Which was fine with, but I asked when she would be back and if she can get me in right away. She informed me that she was fully booked and gave me an appt 2 wks out. That would take me to 5 wks without a fill on my lashes. As most of you ladies know, there would barely be anything left of my lashes after 5 wks. So I asked, if all my lashed fall off by then can I still pay the price of a fill. She said "NO". She told me I should find another tech to accommodate me. I find that VERY UNPROFFESSIONAL of her, since she's the one cancelling on me last minute and can't get me in for an earlier date. She informed me that she can't always be accommodating to all her clients. HELLO! You're the one that cancelled our appointment last minute and not willing to accommodate or compensate for it in any way. A lot of places use that technique to make their clients get new sets so they can make more money. That's just bad business ethics. Had my silk lashes done by Katie today. She did an awesome job!! I've been to many places, including high in salons. They don't beat the time & effort that Katie puts in to give a perfect set of lashes. When it comes to hair, nails, and eyelashes I am very picky about who does it. I'm glad I found Katie. No where else in the bay area can I find someone who does voluminous and extremely dramatic eyelashes for her price. There's another shop in Mountain View that charges for $320+ for dramatic lashes.. That's a little too much now. Katie takes her time, unlike others, to make my eyelashes look fabulous! It took about 2.5-3 hours for my full cat eye set and I love it so much. She chooses between different eyelash sizes and curls, and applies 1,2,3,4,5,6? extensions per natural eyelashes on one at a time. I rather spend the amount she charges for the full out look than to get skimpy "natural" looking eyelashes. A lot of places charge the same price and it's no where as beautiful. Katie fixed my glue and false eyelash disaster! She gently remove large amounts of glue and the false eyelashes I had put on at a nail salon. My lashes are full and beautiful now. Since I'm in my 50's and have loose skin all around my eye, I find my eye makeup migrates into my wrinkles by mid day making me look old and sad. I've recently cut some of my eyelashes off by accident with my eyelash curler. I read some not so good reviews of some salons and got a little scared, that they don't take their time or they have gotten infections. So I went on and found and read some of Katie's reviews here on yelp. Read that she took her time, was pretty reasonable price and was very knowledgeable. Definitely addicted after going to Katie. I have been going to her for almost a year now. She is super sweet and takes her time to make sure you are comfortable and that she gives you exactly what you want. The price is definitely worth the work she does. My lashes last for 6-7 weeks depending on how well I take care of them. I get compliments on them all the time and people always ask me where I got them done. A lot of my friends who get their eyelashes done elsewhere tell me they pay for almost the same amount but it barely lasts a month. I highly recommend Katie. She explained how lashes cycle out and I even noticed how when most of my extensions were gone more lashes grew back. They started off shorter of course due to the extensions, but eventually even grew back longer and with more volume.
