A friend of mine had surgery at Hoag Hospital last week and I wanted to visit her as she recovered. I was coming up from San Diego, have only been to Newport Beach a handful of times and had no idea where a florist is in this little town. Since hospitals tend to ream you for patient gifts, I decided to look elsewhere for a bouquet. I used Yelp to find this location and was hesitant to call because this place looks like it specializes in weddings and pre-planned, big events. I called anyway and am SO PLEASED! I spoke with Lydia and asked if they make bouquets to bring to the hospital. She said that they would do it if I tell her what I need. Since I know nothing about flowers or arrangements, I said I definitely wanted a couple roses, with seasonal flowers and wanted to keep it around $35. She said no problem and that she would have it ready for me. I arrived the next day, walked in, saw a nice bouquet, paid and I was on my way. The flowers were big, fresh and gorgeous. The vase was nice too. I am SO GLAD I called!!! It was hassle free and right down the street from Hoag. So I went in to Lavonne's after work on a whim looking for some flowers for my girlfriend. I usually get bouquets from Trader Joe's or Pavillions nearby but I thought I wanted something more special this time around. I found Lavonne's on a quick Yelp search for florists in the Newport area and I can definitely say I am not disappointed. I came in near closing but Lavonne welcomed me in and was an absolute darling! I told her the flowers for my girlfriend and she asked for my budget and colors and flowers my girlfriend likes, and she handled the rest. She made me a custom bouquet, carefully selected the freshest flowers, and put a lot of thought into the design, what flowers looked best with each other, etc. I really can't say you can get any better flowers in the Newport area other than with Lavonne. I recently had my wedding aboard Electra Cruises Eternity yacht and Lavonne's florist did all of my floral arrangements. Jean and her staff are very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. They will make your floral visions come to life. My bouquet and my bridal parties' bouquets were made of stargazer lilies, hot pink roses, and pink hydrangeas. They were gorgeous and smelled so yummy! I had 2 different centerpiece arrangements. The first was a tall square vase that had orchids in it with submersible lights at the bottom (I provided). The second was a shorter square vase with pink hydrangeas, stargazers, and more submersible lights. I had a black and white damask printed ribbon around each centerpiece. They were both beautiful and my guests ate them up - in the sense that they were so excited to take a centerpiece home at the end of the night. I was extremely satisfied with all my flowers and all the little details Lavonne's attended to. I highly recommend them for any and all floral arrangements. read more

They were bright and gorgeous and perfect - if I can figure out how to upload a picture I will! The price was very reasonable for a wedding compared to other quotes we were getting and the service was just fabulous.
