We had been a loyal customer for over 15 years. We put our trust into our bridal set and bands purchased for our wedding! We followed all of the maintenance recommendations on these items and purchased many other cherished pieces over the years. We began having an issue with my wedding set cracking in a certain spot. We had it in for 3 visits within 6 months for repairs. They tried to convince us that we needed to pay $3,800 to have it remade. It was not adding up to us and our trust in them began to fail. I finally picked my ring up in the condition listed as needing to be redone. I took it to a recommended family Jewelry Store in St. Clair and they were saddened that it was not receiving the care or expertise needed to make my ring perfect again. I am beyond disappointed with my experience with Lawrence jewelers. I feel as if we are a number to them now and they did everything they could to make some money off my cherished wedding pieces purchased and designed by them. I think it is shameful. I am in the Port Huron, MI, area and needed my wedding set repaired. I had lost one emerald stone. NOTHING more was needed except to check the prongs. Sam Clawson at the Lawrence Jeweler in Fort Gratiot, MI, worked for over a week trying to convice me that my rings were worthless and my smaller diamonds were nothing but chips, my larger diamond was not the quality I thought I had. He assured me I would be wasting money to repair something of it's quality that was so badly damaged. My ring was from Mosher's Jeweler and had been serviced by them for 30 years. I had appraisal certifications to prove the quality and value of all my rings. At the end of our "relationship", Sam was all set to sell me a new wedding set for over $12,000. When I asked for certain information in writing, the whole attitude changed. This jewelry store is not operated as a quality and trustworthy jewelry store. From the first time inside, we felt we were being hustled but wanted to see if we were correct. After their "scam" went south, we left and went to Coughlin Jewelers in St. Clair. They appraised all my jewelry in accordance with my previous appraisal certifications. Not only did they repair my wedding set, they replaced two of my diamonds with larger stones, replaced the one lost emerald, took the two smaller diamonds that had been replaced and made earring charms for me. All for $2,500. I will never darken the doors of Lawrence Jewelers and would advise EVERYONE, before making a purchase, you will be better served and get better quality by going to Coughlin Jewelers in St. Clair, MI. read more

I am writing this review from my fiancé Alec's Yelp account. Dion, Jonathan and Sergio are class acts. They were so helpful from beginning to end throughout our engagement process. My fiancé took my grandma's heirloom diamond and put it in a new setting. Dion was so so helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. The finished product was everything I dreamed of! I had to get the diamond brought down slightly and they worked with my jeweler in San Francisco (where we live) to get it fixed and took care of everything! A month later we went back to buy my fiancé Alec's wedding band and they were once again extremely helpful and all around happy and friendly people to do business with. My husband and I have shopped at Lawrence for the past 10 years or so. Their customer service is fantastic and their new store is absolutely beautiful! Their jewelry repair is wonderful- they do it on site and they always do a great job! I have had several repairs done, earrings made from diamonds that were pulled from an old ring, and my wedding rings soldered together. My husband wanted to surprise me with a gift and without my knowledge went to Lawrence Jewelers even though we had previously bought a couple of overpriced and poor quality items from there. The salesman lied to him and told him that I had picked out a very expensive ring and then talked him into buying it. They even told him that I had a "wish list" there and I absolutely do not. They told him they had a photo of me wearing the ring and that is not even possible. When he gave it to me I was appalled at the price he paid considering that it wasn't even nice. I wanted to return it instantly but we were leaving for vacation the next day. After we had returned we were quarantined several times due to school and my husbands job. We were not informed that the return policy was 14 days. I tried to return it a couple of days after the return policy and I was met with total rudeness and complete disregard for the fact that I do not like the ring at all and absolutely can not afford it. COVID 19 has taken a toll on our financial situation and I feel like they took pure advantage of my husbands good intentions. I feel like they would do anything to make a sale. Very sad.... beware of extremely pushy salesman and their ridiculous return policy! read more
