Known for their famous mango sticky rice, Bhan Kanom also functions as a grocery shop for Thai snacks and candies as well as thai bakery! Parking in this lot is small and limited, I would recommend street parking nearby and walking over. Employees are nice and help you with any questions on items you may have! I came by on Thai New Year and while the line was huge, it went by fast and everyone remained v pleasant! Mango sticky rice 5/5, well priced, decently sized portion, soft and smooth! crepes 5/5, small petite and light!
When a craving for authentic Thai desserts hit, this is the spot to check out! I tried out the Pangchi, which has coconut, rice and corn. This always sells out so grab them before they're all gone! I also had to get the Crispy Flower, which is lightly sweet and crisp. Love the fun design. I also got the Mango Sticky rice, which was fresh, perfectly sweet with ripe mangoes. Staff were friendly and were hard at work making fresh Crispy Crepes. I tried one since it was so tempting watching them make it in front of me! Definitely the best when it's fresh! So much Thai desserts to choose from! Definitely would come back.
Like many others, I stopped by after having dinner in the area. There is a valet lot but I ended up finding street parking. The shop has a variety of Thai/Asian desserts and snacks. I came specifically for their mango sticky rice. At $11, I think it's a good portion and likely to be cheaper than getting it at a restaurant. The mangos are sweet and juicy, the sauce has just the right amount of salt, and the whole dessert is fresh and made in front of you. Possibly one of the best mango sticky rice I've had. I'm not too far and will be back to try out some of their other desserts, particularly the luk chup and the khanom bueang.
This has always been a shop I visit every time I go to Thai town and I've been coming for many many years. The food selection is always changing based on the time you arrive. They have a small service counter for fresh made goods. The ambiance definitely gives you that snack/dessert heaven feeling. I forgot to take pictures cause it was quite packed for a 9pm. Definitely get a young coconut & pandan cake, the chicken/potato curry puffs, and a mango sticky rice if available. There are endless options so everyone will find something their taste buds will desire
Upon walking in you'll see directions to navigate in their quaint cute store. Then a big whiff of pandan & coconut hits you immediately. Absolutely enticing, makes you want it even more! They were quite busy on a Tuesday afternoon here. Was able to grab a few items to try. The luk chup fruits looks too freaking adorable to eat. Great customer service! Desserts were nice & not too sweet just like how most Asian desserts are. Give them a try!
Man I was too excited I forgot to take a picture!! I got mango sticky rice and it was perfect sweetness and saltiness. $11 is somewhat on the cheaper side the mango was perfectly ripen and sweet. I will be back and try some other things.
Stopped here because my daughter was craving Mango sticky rice, and this place is definitely a great place to pick some up, along with other Thai desserts. If you're craving something sweet and different, this is your spot. It's located inside the Thai town plaza, and parking is valet only.
Whenever I'm in Hollywood I always go out of my way to stop here and get some Mango Sticky Rice which always hits the spot. No frills market with tons of other Thai snacks.

Tried crepe savory and sweet, like a very thin crispy fortune cookie with coconut crème and sweet or garlicky savory filling - both good Tried pangchi, reminds me of a macaroon (not macaron) and butter mochi together. Subtle flavors that friends were not initially impressed by but it really grew on me as I chewed. You need to come here with a crew so you can try more things!

It felt like walking into your local asian grocery store with the best imported goods and fresh food. Come here for a late night sweet treat after dinner or to stock up on a delicious snack. Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally had a chance to try it this week! Came on a Sunday night while we were waiting for Ruen Pair. It was close to 7pm and they still had a variety of fresh items. We saw that they were low on the crepes so we got some right away and then later came back to buy some more desserts! I got the crepes and the coconut pudding! The crepes were really unique! Couldn't figure out the flavors so we did google it. They were super crunchy but not overly hard. They're definitely much better warm! The coconut pudding was surprising! Inside included coconut pudding but also some sago and corn/taro. I loved it! I'm really looking forward to the next time I can come back! Definitely want to try more goodies!

Staff are always friendly and quick. Mango sticky rice, 9.7/10: The base rice is cooked perfectly and I like how they add crispy rice on top. The coconut cream isn't too sweet and it adds the creaminess that compliments the sweet mango so well. Seems like the mango is always in season, the way it always tastes super sweet and fresh. Never astringent or sour. Maybe this rating is biased since mango is my favorite fruit and my grandma used to make this for us growing up. But idc, go try it.

The Mango Sticky Rice Is Worth the Hype! I heard all the hype about the mango sticky rice at Bhan Kanom Thai, and I can officially confirm it was worth the drive! The mango sticky rice was absolutely delicious. The mango was perfectly sweet and beautifully sliced, with just the right proportion of mango to sticky rice. The coconut milk comes on the side along with the crunchy topping, so you can add as much as you like. Everything together was SO good. It was sweet, creamy, a little crunchy, and honestly the perfect midday treat. And when I tell you I liked it... I made the drive out there TWICE in one week just to get it again. That should tell you everything! Since I was there, I decided to be adventurous and try a few other things. I had the banana with sticky rice for the first time. It came wrapped in a plantain leaf and was served warm, which was really interesting to try. It was good, but personally, mango sticky rice wins for me hands down. I also tried the pork bun for the first time. It was served warm and had pork with a piece of egg inside. I'm glad I tried it, but it wasn't really my favorite. You win some, you lose some! The staff were nice and welcoming, and the store has a HUGE variety of Thai sweets and other food options. There's definitely plenty to look at and try, especially if you enjoy discovering treats you've never had before. But that mango sticky rice? That's what will keep me coming back. Highly recommend giving it a try , just don't blame me if you end up making two trips in one week too! read more

One of my favourite places to get some Thai/ Southeast Asian snacks in LA. Whenever I'm in the area I get their curry puffs! Which is the closest I have found to Malaysian style curry puffs which I miss so much!! This time I also got their pandan layered cake/kuih and salted egg mochi. Don't sleep on the salted egg mochi, so good!! Please note that they are a no frills togo snacks shop. Not a restaurant. Plenty of parking in the lot. At night there's usually valet. But if you're just visiting to grab to go u can tell the valet guy and usually it's free self parking. read more

Don't come here enough! If you LOVE Thai dessert, or just curious to try this is THE PLACE in LA to visit. Lots of Thai specialities, reminding me of my childhood. And it's freshly made too. It's shaped more like a mini dessert market than a restaurant so don't expect to be served or to sit down. A little crowded with so many different items to choose from but try everything and anything :) Just a cute little spot that transports you to a place filld with Thai sweets that goes beyond the typical mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream! read more
Every time I visit this plaza, whether to eat at Ruen Par, Thai Patio or grab a drink at Ding Tea, I must make a stop at Bhan Kanom Thai for dessert! They have a ton of stuff from ice cream, mango sticky rice, fried snacks, buns, crepes and seafood snacks, but I usually get the freshly made coconut snacks and taro cakes. I love that they are bite size, shareable, and not too sweet. The coconut snacks are creamy and soft while the taro and sticky rice desserts a have a thicker, chewy texture. The staff is always nice and happy to explain what each item is. The store is small, but packed with all kinds of interesting Thai snacks. $3 Valet to park in the plaza. Came by after eating nearby to try some Thai snacks. Mango sticky rice was so good w super juicy and sweet mangos make a great combination with the sticky rice and crispy mung beans. I reallly enjoyed the salty crepes as the saltiness balances out the sweetness of the white part. read more

Had dinner in this plaza so decided to stop by and grab some dessert to complete the meal. There are so many goodies to choose from. I decided to grab a coconut pudding cup and steamed coconut pandan cakes which came out to $11.50. The staff was friendly as I didn't know what some of the items are so they are quick to explain and help me find what I'm looking for. Parking is tough in the plaza especially weekends and peak hours, but it's definitely worth it. The desserts are delicious and I will be coming back for more! read more
It's been years since I have visited this place. I was in the area so I made it a point to stop by. It's probably been more than a decade. I am glad they are still around with the changing economy these days. It is not very easy to park here as they have valet parking. I was able to park on the street thankfully. I picked up a few things. The mango sticky rice--- much sweeter than I remembered. The Thai tea was also too sweet for my liking. I tried something new this time. The khao lam with is read bean rice in a bamboo. It was pretty good and I purchase it again in the future. The banana and taro grilled sticky rice are also my usual go-to. Overall, a good place to pick up authentic Thai desserts. Friendly and attentive service. read more

The little store is bright and clean which features Thai desserts with snacks, sauces, chili oil. The Crispy Crepes either sweet or savory with foi thong sweet egg threads and something of a salted coconut. Staff is friendly and they aren't hovering over you as you shop. I had the steamed stuffed tapioca balls which is sweet and savory, you wrap it with lettuce and bite into the fresh chili it was spicy! I would definitely come back for the crepes. read more

Ever since I was little (like close to 20 years ago!!), Bhan Kanom Thai has been a staple pit stop whenever my family and I would go to Thai town for dinner. I can close my eyes and smell the delicious coconut and baked good scents!! I can't remember the last time I've been, but I stopped by a few weeks ago to pick up some desserts to surprise my dad for his birthday. The Khanom Krok, Thai "tacos", fried banana, fried taro, Pandan jello, Pandan pudding, khanom Tokyo (Pandan filled "crepe" rolls), Lup chuk, basically everything the have there is a 10/10. Nothing is overly sweet, everything is made fresh, they keep the desserts warmed/ refrigerated to preserve the freshness, the Pandan and coconut flavors are strong and natural. Nothing tastes artificial. The employees there are really friendly and kind. They were welcoming and had patience while I decided on the 15 things that I wanted haha. Parking was easy to find, there are plenty of spaces available in the plaza it's located in. I'd recommend going during the day to avoid having to valet and pay for parking!! read more

SONG of the DAY to play along with this YELP REVIEW: Made in Thailand by CARABAO SAWADEE CA: My MOM wanted me to get some mango sticky rice, buay roi, fried banana, and taro custard! The FRIED BANANAS were all sold out sadly. They said it's made fresh in the morning so I'll have to get here earlier next time. SERVICE: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PARKING: Valet parking was available. $3.00 for 90 minutes and also handicap parking was available as well. ROCK ON BHAN KANOM THAI! read more

This spot delivers on authentic Thai street snacks. The khanom bueang comes in both sweet and savory--get both. Don't overthink it. Trust me on this one. You'll thank me later. They also carry sakoo sai moo made with rice paper instead of tapioca pearls, which is exactly why I keep coming back. It's noticeably lighter, less chewy, and honestly just better. The selection is borderline dangerous--Thai desserts, snacks, and knickknacks everywhere. You'll walk in for one thing and leave with ten. Service is what you'd expect from a small market: not overly warm, but efficient and helpful enough. Parking is tight. Mostly valet, but there's a small pickup area in the back that gives you just enough time to run in and grab what you need/want. read more

So happy to see Mee krob here for $4. LAX-C stops carrying and I asked 2 friends who went to Bangkok and they couldn't find it there either. Highly recommend triangular rice layer cake. Staff was really nice and helpful. read more
This cute little spot offers many fresh, daily-made Thai desserts. My wife wanted to try the Luk Chup she saw online, and I was happy to oblige and check it out myself. I don't even remember tasting the Luk Chup, as she devoured them all! There are many different sweet and savory desserts from Thailand to try. I got some Khanom Bueang for us, and I liked them, even though they were quite sweet. They also have many imported goods from Thailand. My wife bought a spicy squid snack she loved and wants to return to stock up. We will definitely be back! read more

If you're ever in Thai town, this is a must! Yummy desserts! The sweet crepes are so crispy! The pandan cakes are delicious! Oh and the mango sticky rice! So fresh! Probably the best mango sticky rice I've ever had. They sell other snacks and goodies, a small Thai market. read more

I've been coming to this place for close to three decades and it is one of my favorite spots in Hollywood to visit for all amazing Thai snacks and freshly prepared desserts. The staff are wonderful. The variety of snacks is out of this world and my favorite thing to get is crispy chicken skin. You will find amazing refrigerated items and snacks. You can only find in Thailand. read more
Snacks here are pricier than typical Asian market in orange county or sj! I found the same bags of chips for almost half the price! Service is none. Small selections of snacks. Tried the khanom bueang and it's tasty, but pricey. read more
