All the Thai Restaurants in Los Angeles get their restaurant supplies from LAX-C (pronounced, "Laxy"). It's like a Costco, but low-key, not as good. Generally, the stuff isn't necessarily cheaper than the market. Like 99 Ranch, or even Costco/Ralphs, but imported goods that are unique, hard-to-find and needed for Thai dishes can be found here. If you ever need 50 Gallons of Corn Syrup that is used for Half and Half Milk tea, LAX-C is the place to go. My friend likes the Red Grain Rice here. Because that item is cheaper by a few dollars. Bring Cash/Debit Card, because they charge 3% on all credit card, regardless of transaction amount. read more

If you have a big family or really just love cooking, this is the right place. I like using oyster sauce in some of my dishes but a bottle of oyster sause cost you $2 to $3 for a snall one but at LAX C they have in a big can that is like $5+ only. Veggies are fresh however you need to get by bulk. There are items here you cant see in other store and those that are available are really less than the regular store. The only thing is that the EXPIRATION DATE. But overall they are very nice people and helpful. read more

They have literally everything you can need to cook Thai food here. It took me 1 hour to peruse every aisle. They have kaya jam and kaya pandan jam! The ceramics section is so neat. It would easily be 2-3x the price in any other ceramic ware store. I got a banana leaf serving bowl because it just gave me joy! But back to the main store, so many dried ingredients, they have dried galangal, bulk dried peppers, cotton seed oil, lots of Vietnamese exotic fruit drinks, and so much more. The frozen food aisle is very bulk sized though so that part is better for restaurants or parties. They do have lots of clean fresh Asian veggies (semi-bulk) in the fridge areas. This is a very interesting convenience store and plaza. I think the best way to describe it is a "Thai Costco." I think most Thai restaurants get their supplies in bulk here, and the prices are slightly cheaper if you get a gigantic case instead of an individual. It's worth a try to check out, as there are plenty of various items that you sometimes can't find at the local Asian supermarket. Interesting thought, but Thai supermarkets are a little underrepresented as you have things like 99 Ranch, H-Mart, 168 Market, Seafood City, etc. Anyways, there's plenty of random things to get here including an annex of random huge steamers/woks/decorative pieces/etc. There's also a small restaurant inside the lax-c which has a steam tray table filled with random thai dishes. One that I saw was Khao Ka Moo, which is a stewed pork feet dish. Give this place a try! read more

We haven't gone to LA for quite awhile but had to make this trip due to the passing of a relative. We decided to make a quick stop at this Thai warehouse since it was on the way and we've seen so many great postings on FB about the variety of items it offered and the affordable pricing but we were quite disappointed when we got there because the place was unorganized and looked messy. The decorative items were all covered with dust and some food items looked old. There weren't as many food products as I had hoped to see as portrayed by postings. The service didn't come with a smile either. We will likely not be going back to shop there again. read more

I have never been to LAX-C Supermarket; I don't live close; and I have no intention of going any time in the near future, I have just learned, however, than my absolute favorite plant-based meat in the world - SPA Foods from Thailand - is sold exclusively in the United States at LAX-C Supermarket in Los Angeles. SPA Foods has been around for years, and it's just as incredible today as it was 15 years ago when I first discovered it. According to SPA Foods, LAX-C carries the following SPA Foods products: Vegan Chicken Breast Vegan Tender Soy Protein Vegan Tuna Vegan King Mackerel I have spent nearly two (2) years in Thailand over multiple trips in my lifetime. I have always imported SPA Foods' vegan delights when I've returned home. That said, I have never tried any of the offerings at LAX-C other than the Vegan King Mackerel. I don't care. SPA Foods has a series of restaurants in Bangkok (and used to have one in Chiang Mai). Oh My Gawd: vegan varietals of lamb, sirloin, crab, fish, scallops, chicken. It's every vegan iteration that one can imagine. Do I have any doubt that SPA Foods' offerings at LAX-C aren't the best of the best of the best? I would bathe in SPA Foods' vegan, plant-based, delights if given in the option. It has taken years for any store in the United States to carry SPA Foods' products. Those in Los Angeles are lucky in ways they do not know. It's the pinnacle of perfection. I have tried to import SPA Foods from Thailand to the United States for my own personal consumption - that is how much I love SPA Foods. Without preservatives, non-GMO, and being all-natural, it wouldn't survive the transit without spoilage absent an inaccessible shipping cost that most people (including myself) cannot realistically afford. If one enjoys plant-based meat or is vegetarian or vegan and lives in Los Angeles, do yourself a favor: make the introduction to the brilliance of SPA Foods. If one finds herself in Bangkok, seek out Vegetarian Cottage (one of SPA Foods' restaurants, among others). Even one of my close non-vegan Thai friends who eats everything loved the food. read more

This place is definitely more for wholesale to restaurants/businesses. They do sell individual item prices, but they are sometimes higher priced as individual sale than the normal Asian supermarkets. The inside is not individual consumer friendly (hard to see the products/find them) as individuals aren't their customer target market. They take debit card and only credit card above $20 (plus charge a 3% fee). This wasn't made aware to me until I was checking out, so I ended up having to forgo my purchases that I spent a while gathering as I didn't have debit card (& didn't feel like looking for more items to meet credit card requirement). They do have a large variety of products though, from food, household products, to even ornamental/religious/unique items from Thailand. This is a Thai business. I went primarily to check out the cooked food section that I saw a lot of reviews for. It's actually much smaller than I imagined and compared to other casual to go Thai dining establishments in LA, but seems like an ok deal for those interested ($10, $11 for 2 entrees with rice or if get the sides by itself, they are $10 and up by themselves). They also have some unique desserts & Thai cut fruit. There aren't any clear labels in English on what they are nor price tags so I had to ask the ladies manning the cooked foods a few questions, which caused them to get irritated. Their English isn't very good & when I was interested in a Thai fruit, the older lady told me to not buy it if I never had it before. Very honest & prob for my benefit, but their lack of friendliness definitely caused me to stop browsing & not buy a lot from there. I did get a Panyan sticky rice / layered mochi which I had before so knew it what it was. It was very delicious so it's not bad to check out & pick up a few things to try if you don't ask too many questions ^_^' or are Thai & know what you are looking for... It's a great Thai market to go to and spend an hour or so. This place feels more Los Angeles than any of the bland Anglo-Saxon places featured in La La Land (sorry Damien Chazelle). You can see restaurant owners from all of Los Angeles buy their groceries and supplies here. There are a lot of Thais but I've also seen Latino and Chinese. I wouldn't go here to shop for my daily grocery needs because a lot is in bulk. But they sell a lot of individual stuff that is cheaper than the typical Asian market price (like Thai ready made spice packets). The Khao Gaeng (Rice Curry) counter in the market is alright, but they are quite heavy handed with fish sauce. The food is too salty for my liking. I never enjoy going to checkout after I'm done shopping. Everybody there looks stressed and they're all shouting prices in Thai to other checkout stands. It's also awkward if you don't have too much stuff to buy. It's a great market to take other people and just walk around. Definitely one of the more underrated cultural markets in Los Angeles. If you miss Thailand, you can come here and look at all of the stuff that you probably can't get anywhere else. read more

Has more to offer than Canton Food Co. and more non bulk but we still could not find bread flour, milk powder or bakers yeast. They have AC brand "Jasmine" rice which is decent rice but no jasmine scent. We haven't found a jasmine rice that actually has jasmine scent since 2018 at Costco from their Kirkland brand but then the second bag was crap. 99 Ranch has almost as good of rice ( house brand ) at a much better price if you keep an eye out for sales. Sometimes two 25# sacks are cheaper than one 50#. Parking is limited but you can usually find one. Use your GPS to find the store. read more

Primarily Asian groceries including frozen items such as ice cream and fish, dry household items such as disposable plates, dry noodles and gluten free options such as rice paper wraps and rice noodles, canned goods, bottled drinks, fresh veggies and fruits, live fish, a few prepared hot foods, cooking seasoning and herbs, nuts, oils, condiments, a few organic items if you look carefully. I found organic soy sauce and organic salad dressings. Overall, selection is limited as is often the case in warehouse settings, but good prices if you find what you want. Not all of the prices were deals, but they were at least comparable to what you might find at another store. There is a 3% charge for using a credit card pay instead of paying with cash. Not sure if someone else is taking over but there's a shorthaired hunchedback older lady now that can't speak English, impatient, doesn't make eye contact when talking and rude to top it off. The grandma lady that is always there is nice. I ordered pork and she gave me a whole fish not wanting to listen to what I am ordering. When the younger girl changed the fish for the pork she agreed that there was a price difference. The older woman told her that there wasn't. Really? After eating my papaya salad and coconut cakes at Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes I went here to walk off the calories and wanted to see if there was anything I might be interested in getting. To find that this place is similar to Costco, except its Thai version of it. There were aisles and aisles of Asian wholesale items. However, it was not as organized as Costco. In addition, the facility didn't look clean. As I was walking towards the door I discovered a small food court tucked away in the corner. I didn't really check it out, but maybe next time. Standing at the door, there were two security guys standing side by side waiting to either catch somebody in action (stealing) or just for the safety of their customers. I found old bowls that were usually used by noodle stores in my country and I also found food that I never saw elsewhere, like the coconut ice-cream. I was so glad my friends took me along with them. I found out about LAX-C from a friend of mine and after my first visit I always find myself coming back here for something else. LAX-C is pretty much like a Thai wholesale market. You'll find all the things you'll need at an Asian market and much more. The place itself is rather messy and you'll find many items that are dusty. In the freezer section you'll find things with freezer burn also, so be sure to double check the items you are purchasing. They also have a section that has a steam table and they sell Thai food. I personally don't eat it since I'm a whimp when it comes to spicy food but whenever I'm here I always buy food for my family. They love the beef curry and fish curry. I remember trying a bite one time and my mouth was on fire, a bit too extreme for me. Be sure to bring cash to pay though or be prepared to pay for a % in order to use your credit card. They take a percentage of your total bill and charge extra if you want to use your card. Parking isn't an issue since they have their own lot. If you love Thai food, you've gotta stop by here to give it a try. read more

**REVIEW FOR BOTH MARKET & FAST FOOD AREA** How did I NOT know there was a thai market/wholesale warehouse near LA? I've been living in LA for over 20 years and barely found out earlier this year about LAX-C. The Market: They have everything here. A lot of times it's difficult to find holy thai basil.. but guess what? They have it here. You like imported junk food from calbee or other various brands? They have that here too. Do you need some shampoo or body wash that has been imported from Thailand? They've got that. Fresh seafood? That too. You get the point. As for recommendations here.. If you like chips or shrimp chips.. they rotate out their inventory from calbee and frito-lay very often. If you are lucky, try to see if they have the Calbee Tom-Yum flavored shrimp chips - these are by far the best shrimp chips I've ever had next to the hot garlic. For Frito-Lay, the seaweed/nori flavor is the best one. I am always excited to see what they have the next time I go. Prices are reasonable, try to compare it to other markets as some items may cost more. The fast food area: Authentic QUALITY thai food in a multi-choice setting! Usually when I find one of these multi-choice type fast food restaurants, the quality is usually trash... Here, it is different. All of the food I have tried here is actually very tasty and fresh. They have pork belly with vegetables which is one of my favorite. They also have a whole fish you can get which counts as two items. There is also a decent sized dessert section here with fresh deep fried bananas, tapioca/coconut desserts, and other various items. Prices are a bit on the high side compared to the other multi-choice places I've been to.. But this is the only thai one I know, so I'll deal with it. Don't get the thai tea it's filled to the brim with ice. Price for fast food w/ rice -- 1 Item for $5.95, 2 items for $6.95, 3 items for $7.95 SECRET NOT SO SECRET** There is another thai food vendor on the outside of the market (when you enter to your left) it looks like a shack. The food here is freaking awesome. It's a limited menu with only pork & chicken skewers, northern and southern laos sausage, sticky rice, papaya salad(dried shrimp or blue crab), and coconut cakes. Oh man am I glad I Yelp! This place really WAS a Thai Costco - just aimed mostly at restaurant owners. Produce is cheap and good quality, just it's pre-bagged, no joke, about 5 times bigger than Costco. So cool. They have Lay's and Stax chips straight from Thailand, like sushi & BBQ spare rib flavors. Honestly...I was the most excited over the lychee, sesame, thai iced tea, and green tea flavored ice creams made with coconut milk only to find that the thai iced tea was so old it was gritty, and the sesame was rancid tasting. :'( It was like the entire thing was left out for a couple days, then they stuck it back in the freezer to re-solidify. Echh. Anyway they had bbq pork buns, banana rice desserts, and really good gyoza - the good ones that comes out crispy when you cook it. A trip here is a trip indeed! I love grocery shopping, it's so comforting to be surrounded by food and ingredients. I just like imagining all the possible dishes I can make as I walk down the isles. I also imagine that if a big earthquake happened I would be okay, and won't starve. So in a giant place like LAX-C I am really happy. LAX-C is where small restaurants or people with large families shop, it's a common sight to see people line up with multiple carts checking out to load up their vans. There are discounted rates for buying items in bulk and also a discount if you are a re-seller with a license. This is pretty much a warehouse similar to Costco but without the membership fees, specializing in Thai/Asian foods. The prices on some items are not cheap but similar to what you would find at a 99 Ranch, but for others CHEAP! I have a thing for young coconuts, it's such a naturally refreshing drink/snack, especially on a hot summer day. So when I saw them at a good price at LAX-C, I bought cases of them. The effort of playing Tetris with the fridge to make them all fit was worth it. Other than coconuts I buy: thai tea, asian beverages, snacks, sauces and noodles. I got refrigerated packages of pho type noodles for 99 cents! :) I'm happy that they take credit and debit cards since I don't carry cash with me often. I highly recommend that if you check out this place if you are planning on self-catering for a party. They got you covered from take-out boxes to large boxes of fortune cookies. read more

They have American and other foreign stuff that you can get in bulk. Prices are alright. They can be high because you can only go to specialty stores for some of the Thai stuff. But it's all there. You need to make any Thai dishes. All there to make. I'd only buy it from here if I owned a restaurant... why do I need so much? I came here for the food. They sell food for you to eat. It's a small section and the food is cheap. You get a plateful and it reminds me of Thailand where you get a plate of food already made and sit and eat. Pretty good. Very little seating. They have everything and more you could possibly imagine in a restaurant supply store. After you are done with the shopping there is a cafeteria style Thai food place located near the registers. The place seems a bit dirty but the food was good! I ordered the spicy basil ground chicken with a side of rice! Delicious and cheap! One portion cost around $5.56 I believe. I would eat there again but only if I am shopping there. Definitely not something I would drive all the way to Chinatown for. Overall my experience was FUN! I might have found my most convenient, well-stocked all-round Asian supermarket: LAX-C -- it's like Costco and 99 Ranch Supermarket had a love child, only it's closer to where I live. Also, the parking is never a bitch (which cannot be said about the aforementioned two shopping places). LAX-C is a Thai wholesale restaurant supply place that stocks pretty much all you would need to run a Thai restaurant (fresh groceries, sauces, dried goods, equipment, supplies, and even gold buddhas). There are a lot of Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican groceries too. LAX-C allows a prosumer like myself to walk in and purchase like their big account customers (just pay by debit card). It's open seven days a week, and I'm definitely coming back here for most of my weekly shopping needs. The staff are super chill and always available to help you find what you need. Minus the freshness of the produce and food compare to Costco and minus the good customer service from the cashiers. The 3 star is all for the different kind of selections and prices. . My mom comes here for the restaurant and kitchen supplies. They have containers and boxes for food at a very good price and you don't have to buy the entire box. You can buy roll by rolls. Huge selection of asian goods at a great price. Came on a saturday and it was decently packed but I was able to find parking quickly because people are coming and going constantly. There is a food stall inside the warehouse as well as outside. The stall inside has a lot more variety while the one outside is more modest. My friend and I had bbq pork/chicken skewers, sticky rice, and papaya salad and it was pleasantly authentic. The skewers were so tender and perfectly marinated and the papaya salad was the most authentic I've ever had. I already miss it! read more

Stopped by after having this place bookmarked for months. I came mostly for food because it looked good in pictures. Food is actually pretty decent. Supermarket is very okay for me. This place is huge and it seems disorganized. The place was practically empty at noon. I was shocked to hear that the minimum for credit card use is $20... AND a 3 % surcharge!!! (Which I was not told and didn't notice until I read other Yelp reviews about this place) But it is a supermarket! I have never heard of supermarkets having a minimum for credit cards. I'd look at an item and wouldn't wanna pick it up because there was so much dust on it. I left here with dirty hands and wanting to clean them. AND, watch out for EXPIRED items being sold! I saw a Red Curry Sauce packaging with an expiration of 2012, 2010 & blank ones. It's 2014!!!!!! So I ended up not buying that.
