Easy, friendly, affordable, fast service - everything you want! I came on a weekend morning and only waited about a minute. The building is on an accessible street with plenty of room to pull in. I can't remember the man's name who helped me but he was incredibly friendly and communicated everything I needed to know. I sat down in one of the plastic chairs (not fancy by any means) while he did my smog check. I chilled out for maybe 10-15 minutes, paid, was given my paperwork and was out! He also asked me how I heard of them and offered me a Yelp discount. Make sure you mention it or show a coupon from the site. They are also very COVID conscious with masks. I was even given a few sanitizing wipes if I wanted to wipe down the inside of my car afterwards. Really thoughtful! This is an overdue review. I went over to see DK for 2 of my vehicles back to back and this was my first time seeing him for a smog test. Called him for an appointment and he was very very nice and pleasant to deal with. He told me to come over even though he was closing and didn't mind the wait. DK! Definitely deserves a shout out, 30 minutes before closing, I purchase a groupon and make my way over. I pull in and there was only one other vehicle. As soon as it left he told me to pull my car in it's place. I told him about the groupon, he asked me if I had any of the car paperwork, which I didn't, he said no problem give me 10 minutes, he had 2 chairs separated for social distancing. While I waited me and this other guy spoke about Audi models since that's what we both have. Before I know it DK is finished and calling me over, the car passed the smog, he had all the paperwork ready because it's somehow connected to groupon so all I had to do was sign and pay the extra $13 state fee, preferably in cash. This man is out here working miracles, because he has great customer service, gets the job quick and efficiently and at a good price. I made contact with DJ (Owner) Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. I was going to bring my car in that Wednesday morning but he was running late and I was on a time crunch. I asked DK if he (LAX Smog) was going to be open tomorrow (Thanksgiving) and replied he would be there all day starting at 8:30 on Thanksgiving. I asked him if he was sure and he said yes. DK stated he could work and make money and still make it home before Thanksgiving dinner was served. So, I arrived on Thanksgiving at 9:00am and the gate was padlock and DK wasn't anywhere in sight. I phoned and left a message 4 times between 9am to 10am and DK never showed and didn't show the courtesy to phone me back. It is now Sunday and still no call from DK. If you decide to do business with DK I'd absolutely suggest you call before go to confirm he's stand inside the shop with the gate unlocked. read more
