I don't know why they weren't busy , maybe I interrupted their chat time but it was the fastest threading I've gotten done and not to mention messy as she didn't clean up my eyebrows properly and when I mentioned it to her she seemed to get upset. They weren't too friendly either and they were talking and laughing in their own language and she didn't speak to me at all. Won't be coming back. read more

Wish I read the reviews of this place before coming here. DO NOT COME HERE. The people here DO NOT know how to thread. They are open but they are not taking the necessary safety precautions due to COVID (temperature check, wipe down, social distancing, etc.). I called before I came here to make sure they were open and how much they charge for full face threading. The lady picked up the phone and told me $20 and no appointment is necessary. So I decided to go in given you don't need any appointment and when I went inside, I saw that the price list was for full face was $35. Since I was already there, I just told myself I would just go through with it although there was QUITE a price difference. The lady who ended up threading my face did not even do a decent job. Literally should have not even bothered in staying. I will not come back here, not worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I've been going to Layla's for about a year now, and I go about every month-2 months. I live out in Northridge and do not trust anyone else to touch my eyebrows. I've gotten them done by Vrushali and Dilpa but I personally felt they were good for cleanup. My go-to is Jalpa; she always does my brows perfect and just the way I like it (thin/arched). I've never had to wait my turn and every session never took longer than 5 minutes. read more

So I decided I wanted to get my eyebrows done while out running a few quick errands. I usually get them waxed but I had only about a 30 minute window of time available. I stopped by my usual place and they had a wait longer than I could afford to spend there and I happen to be driving by and saw a sign for Layla threading. It's in a teeny tiny plaza near the kinkos and you would miss it if you weren't looking for it. I walked in and I was immediately assisted. All I mentioned was that I wanted my eyebrows done. And the friendly staff member quickly got to work. I have never had my eyebrows threaded and let me tell you, I may never gonna go back to waxing after today. I am too lazy to go anywhere else. they do a good job and i'll stress "good" because it's very inconsistent. sometimes i'm like yay and other times....i have to hide the bad job by drawing them in and fixing it as best as possible. i will say i've had more good than bad, but i would go to another place if it was around.like the other girls have said they are fast,no wait...in and out. so i like the convience of it. I went into Layla's in Simi Valley this morning for the first time. LOVED IT. I walked in at around 10:10am today and they were able to seat me right away. I was threaded by the woman in the first chair. Threading is a little weird and is kind of like tweezing on steroids. Luckily she was so fast it was over quickly! Lol! She made sure my eyebrows were even and she also did my upper lip. Man my eyebrows are on point! Definitely coming back! Also, they aren't at the mall like it says on here, they are on LA avenue by fedex across from KFC. read more

The lady in the third char away from the door did a horrible job threading my eyebrows! 1. My eyebrows are uneven, one is noticeably shorter from the inside of my brows. 2. The ends of my eyebrows do not have a clean point. 3. There are leftover hairs underneath. 4. She peeled skin and underneath my eyebrows I have little scabs now. I went back the next day and complained. They politely apologized and gave my money back. But if you don't want your eyebrows to look crooked and have scabs around your eyes, I suggest you skip this threading place and find another beauty salon. read more

Tried Layla's because of a review I read on Yelp. The girl that did my eyebrows worked fast and was very nice and professional, the pricing was $11. I've always been scared to have anyone else do my eyedrows... non the less i got up the courage and had my eyebrows done. The result was very nice I will go back. I recomended my sister to go there the last time she got her eyebrows waxed they not only took off her hair but also a huge chunk of skin. plus they burned her cause the wax was too hot. read more

LOVE. Every time I walk by, this place is always empty. I have no idea how they stay in business, but I assume it's by providing really quick and affordable threading services. Last year, I had my first threading experience for free. One of the women who works there is my friend's cousin, so she let me try out threading at no charge. I loved it, and vowed to come back. Today, I finally came back. There were two people working this time, and I only had to wait five minutes before getting my brows done. Although threading is not a painful process overall, I did feel more pain the second time around. I attribute this to my skin being more sensitive due to my recent acne medication. The pain, however, wasn't severe enough to make me say something. I just toughed it out and gave myself a pat on the back for not being a baby. Best part about Layla: NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY. Because there is never any line, you simply walk in and tell them what you need done. Depending on what you want threaded--they offer a whole face threading--you'll be in and out in fifteen minutes. I've been coming here for eyebrow threading since they first opened. I used to go to a similar shop in the San Fernando valley before this opened in Simi Valley... That one usually has a long wait, maybe 30 - 60 min! I am able to just walk in and get my brows done right away here when I come in after work. The most I've ever waited here was maybe 10 min. I rarely go during the weekends though, but that is probably when they are at their busiest. The staff are all friendly. Always fast service and great work with eyebrow shaping! I used to come here when it was still located at the Simi Valley Town Center.... since they moved to the new location near FedEx the service was never the same. The girl in the middle chair ( Vishwali ) always had a blunt and hard attitude and made my brows thin on top of it. Jelpa ( fourth chair ) is the only person I would recommend. If you want a half-a**ed job with girls who talk about you in Hindi, this is the place to go. I am Indian and speak both Hindi and Tamil and I know what this place is all about. Depending the time/day you go, there's usually 2 ladies working at the place. You're most likely to have a wait time when you go during the weekend, so I try to come in on a weekday. However, the procedure is fast enough so I've never really waited longer than 15 minutes on their busiest day. And I love how I can stop by on my way home from work and get groomed fast. Ask about any promos that they might have to save a few bucks. I get coupons via email and last December I bought gift certificates that's essentially gives me 50% off my next visit. read more

Layla's Threading - I don't know how they do it, but they are FAST! And I prefer threading over waxing because waxing creates that red burn that takes hours to go away. Threading doesn't do that at all. I can go last minute to get my eyebrows threaded and then out tonight without worrying about those red marks or bumps appearing. I've always gone the waxing route.. but I thought I would give threading a try. The lady assured me that threading is better because it pulls the root out along with the hair. She was very quick but precise... I loved the way she did the eyebrows. I also had my upper lip done... that one made my eyes water... not very painful.. but yeah... ouch. But I would try that again ... =) sidenote: when I got home I noticed tiny scabs around my brow line.. I think when she was threading out the hair it didn't come out nicely and "ripped" out. Good thing I didn't have anywhere nice to go for the next few days. The scabs have healed with a little help from neosporin... =) Yeah... hopefully that was not a common thing... I would go back and try again... but not right before I have to go somewhere nice. =) read more

Home for the holidays, eyebrows needed some attention & thought I'd give this place a shot due to the great yelp reviews. I wasn't let down. As the other reviewers mentioned, place was empty when I got there. Just myself, plus the customer in the chair. 3 other people showed up in the 5 min I waited. The procedure is very quick and although I have sensitive skin, it wasn't too red to continue my trek around the mall. The girl was friendly and very efficient. My eyebrows were tamed & trimmed just as I wanted within 5-7 min. Only gave 4 stars because although there are 2 chairs, there was only 1 girl working. By the time I left there were 4 other people waiting. I didn't wait long, but I imagine girl #4 did. read more

Most of us can agree that your eyebrows can make or break your desired look. I have been to every Layla except for the Santa Paula location. I have never had an issue with the work that has been done my brows expect for today. At the Simi location I left in tears. The girl working on a Sunday 6/5/16 at 1:30pm took away my arch and made my brows extremely thin! To prevent this from happening again I urge you all to refrain for the SIMI VALLEY LAYLA. Or make it VERY clear what it is you want! Instead visit the Thousand Oaks location. I have full confidence in every girl that work at the TO location and especially the Santa Barbara location! I understand it's just hair and it will grow back but no one enjoys the waiting process for them to grow back to your original desired look. read more

The 2 girls along the left wall when you walk in are amazing. But steer clear of the girl straight ahead along the back wall. She is rude and horrible at threading. To add insult to injury she has charged me more than double than the other girls do more than once. The first time she did it I said something and they made her lower the price. The second time was during covid and I didn't understand her with her mask on so I paid. When I got home I realized she charged me almost 20 dollars more than the others. She doesn't even do a good job and is rude. I don't go there anymore because of her. It's a shame because like I said the other 2 girls are friendly and really good at threading. I definitely recommend going there, but if you get the girl in the back just request to wait for one of the others. Trust me it will save u a lot of money read more

So I've never had threading done before, I've always waxed my eyebrows, this crap hurts! but i will say i find it works better than waxing, its quicker and looks much cleaner. The lady at Layla's was very nice and professional. It's a little hard to find in the Simi mall, but I found it! reasonable prices and even though its a tad uncomfortable i think I'll be doing this from now on versus waxing. It was a bit weird being that this place was a long room with high ceilings and there was just one chair with a mirror where they do the threading, it just seemed very empty in there. But I cant really say to much about a place that does threading, but it was good, no real complaints. read more

Great, speedy threading service. My threader was incredibly fast and it waas virtually pain-free. I really liked my eyebrows and getting in and out in 5 minutes, cuz it took me longer to get their from home than to get the service done! I even got my mom interested, so she goes with me now!
